CO_(2)electrolysis using solid oxide electrolysis cells is a promising technology for CO_(2)utilization and conversion,which has attracted more and more attention in recent years because of its extremely high efficien...CO_(2)electrolysis using solid oxide electrolysis cells is a promising technology for CO_(2)utilization and conversion,which has attracted more and more attention in recent years because of its extremely high efficiency.However,traditional Ni-yttria-stabilized zirconia(Ni-YSZ)or Ni-Gd_(0.1)Ce_(0.9)O_(2-δ)(Ni-GDC)metal-ceramic cathode faces many problems such as Ni agglomeration and carbon deposition during long-time operation.Herein,a perovskite oxide La_(0.43-x)Ca_(0.37)Ti_(0.9)Ni_(0.1)O_(3-δ)(LCTN,x=0,0.05,0.1)with nanophase-LaVO_(4)exsolution was investigated as the novel cathode of solid oxide electrolysis cell(SOEC)for efficient CO_(2)electrolysis.The results confirm that the exsolution nanophase on LCTN surface can significantly improve the CO_(2)adsorption and conversion performance.For CO_(2)electrolysis at 1.8 V,an electrolysis current density of 1.24 A/cm2at 800℃can be obtained on SOEC with La_(0.43-x)Ca_(0.37)Ti_(0.9)Ni_(0.1)O_(3-δ)decorated with LaVO_(4)(LCTN-V0.05)cathode.Furthermore,the corresponding cell can maintain stable operation up to 100 h without apparent performance degradation.These results demonstrate that doping-induced second nanophase exsolution is a promising way to design high-performance SOEC cathodes for CO_(2)electrolysis.展开更多
Exploring stable and robust catalysts to replace the current toxic CuCr based catalysts for dehydrogenative coupling of ethanol to ethyl acetate is a challenging but promising task.Herein,novel NiIn based catalysts we...Exploring stable and robust catalysts to replace the current toxic CuCr based catalysts for dehydrogenative coupling of ethanol to ethyl acetate is a challenging but promising task.Herein,novel NiIn based catalysts were developed by tailoring Ni catalysts with Indium(In)for this reaction.Over the optimal Ni0.1Zn0.7Al0.3InOx catalyst,the ethyl acetate selectivity reached 90.1%at 46.2%ethanol conversion under the conditions of 548 K and a weight hourly space velocity of 1.9 h^(-1)in the 370 h time on stream.Moreover,the ethyl acetate productivity surpassed 1.1 g_(ethyl acetate)g_(catalyst)^(-1)h^(-1),,one of the best performance in current works.According to catalyst characterizations and conditional experiments,the active sites for dehydrogenative coupling of ethanol to ethyl acetate were proved to be Ni4In alloys.The presence of In tailored the chemical properties of Ni,and subsequently inhibited the C-C cracking and/or condensation reactions during ethanol conversions.Over Ni4In alloy sites,ethanol was dehydrogenated into acetaldehyde,and then transformed into acetyl species with the removal of H atoms.Finally,the coupling between acetyl species and surface-abundant ethoxyde species into ethyl acetate was achieved,affording a high ethyl acetate selectivity and catalyst stability.展开更多

Herein, Cu was selected to modify NiMgAlO catalysts for improving ethanol conversion and n-butanol selectivity. Over the optimized 2%Cu-NiMgAlO catalyst, ethanol conversion and n-butanol selectivity were enhanced to 30.0% and 64.2%, respectively, in 200 h time on stream at 523 K. According to physicochemical characterizations and theoretical calculations, the key role of multiple active sites in this reaction was extensively investigated. The plate-like structure of hydrotalcite was maintained over 2%Cu-NiMgAlO catalysts, with an average Ni particle size of ca. 5.4 nm. The presence of Cu species created CuNi alloy sites and Lewis acid-base pairs, and increased hydrogen transfer and condensation reactions, resulting in elevated ethanol conversion and n-butanol selectivity. Additionally, CuNi alloy had a strong interaction with CuNiMgAl oxides, forming homogeneous boundary due to their close ionic radius and lattice matching, and afforded the long time stability in the ethanol to n-butanol reaction.展开更多
BACKGROUND Cognitive impairments are core characteristics of schizophrenia,but are largely resistant to current treatments.Several recent studies have shown that highfrequency repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulat...BACKGROUND Cognitive impairments are core characteristics of schizophrenia,but are largely resistant to current treatments.Several recent studies have shown that highfrequency repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation(rTMS)of the left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex(DLPFC)can reduce negative symptoms and improve certain cognitive deficits in schizophrenia patients.However,results are inconsistent across studies.AIM To examine if high-frequency rTMS of the DLPFC can improve visual memory deficits in patients with schizophrenia.METHODS Forty-seven chronic schizophrenia patients with severe negative symptoms on stable treatment regimens were randomly assigned to receive active rTMS to the DLPFC(n=25)or sham stimulation(n=22)on weekdays for four consecutive weeks.Patients performed the pattern recognition memory(PRM)task from the Cambridge Neuropsychological Test Automated Battery at baseline,at the end of rTMS treatment(week 4),and 4 wk after rTMS treatment(week 8).Clinical symptoms were also measured at these same time points using the Scale for the Assessment of Negative Symptoms(SANS)and the Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale(PANSS).RESULTS There were no significant differences in PRM performance metrics,SANS total score,SANS subscores,PANSS total score,and PANSS subscores between active and sham rTMS groups at the end of the 4-wk treatment period,but PRM performance metrics(percent correct and number correct)and changes in these metrics from baseline were significantly greater in the active rTMS group at week 8 compared to the sham group(all P<0.05).Active rTMS treatment also significantly reduced SANS score at week 8 compared to sham treatment.Moreover,the improvement in visual memory was correlated with the reduction in negative symptoms at week 8.In contrast,there were no between-group differences in PANSS total score and subscale scores at either week 4 or week 8(all P>0.05).CONCLUSION High-frequency transcranial magnetic stimulation improves visual memory and reduces negative symptoms in schizophrenia,but these effects are delayed,potentially due to the requirement for extensive neuroplastic changes within DLPFC networks.展开更多

In t...We report on a novel and convenient method of measuring secondary electron spectra for insulators in a secondary electron yield measurement system with a planar grid analyzer configuration and a metal mesh probe. In this measurement, the planar grid is negatively biased to force some emitted secondary electrons to return to the sample surface and to neutralize charges accumulated on the sample during the previous beam irradiation. The surface potential of the sample is then measured by use of a metal mesh probe. The grid bias for neutralization corresponding to the zero surface potential is determined based on the linear relationship between the surface potential and the grid bias. Once the surface potential equals zero, the secondary electron spectra of polymethyl methacrylate(PMMA) are studied experimentally by measuring the -curve and then fitting it to Everhart's formula. The measurement results show that the peak energy and the full width at half maximum of the spectra are 4.26 eV and 14.06 eV, respectively.展开更多
Background and Objectives The relationship between left atrial(LA)size and congestive heart failure(CHF)is well recognized;however,there is little information on the association of pulmonary vein(PV)diameter and CHF.T...Background and Objectives The relationship between left atrial(LA)size and congestive heart failure(CHF)is well recognized;however,there is little information on the association of pulmonary vein(PV)diameter and CHF.The purpose of this study was to investigate the changes of PV and LA sizes in CHF patients by multislice computed tomography(MSCT)angiography using a new 64-slice scanner.Methods and Results We assessed diameters of PVs ostium and LA by 64-slice MSCT with three-dimensional reconstruction in 25 CHF patients and in 26 age-and sex-matched non-CHF controls.Compared with controls,CHF patients showed significant greater diameters of left superior pulmonary vein(LSPV)and right inferior pulmonary vein(RIPV)in both anteriorposterior(AP)and superior-inferior(SI)directions(P<0.01),significant dilation of right superior pulmonary vein(RSPV)in AP direction(P<0.05),as well as significant increase of LA transverse,AP,and SI diameters(P<0.01).Conclusion Significant dilation of PVs with simultaneous LA enlargement was demonstrated in CHF patients.This anatomic and geometric changes may participate in the perpetuation of AF.展开更多

Currently, the researches on MSL have focused on the corresponding relation search between two surfaces, the performance improvement of localization algorithms and the uncertainty analysis of localization. However, low efficiency, limitation of localization algo- rithms and mismatch of multiple similarities of feature points with no prior are the common disadvantages for MSL. In order to match feature points quickly and fulfill MSL efficiently, this paper presents a new localization approach for measured surfaces by extracting the generic umbilics and estimating their single complex variables, describing the match methods of ambiguous relation at umbilics, presenting the initial localization process of one pair matched points, refining MSL on the basis of obtained closet points for some measured points by the improvement directed projection method. In addition, the proposed algorithm is simulated in two different types of surfaces,two different localization types and multiple similar sur- faces, also tested with the part of B-spline surface machined and bottle mould with no knowledge, finally the initial and accurate rigid body transformation matrix, localization errors between two surfaces and execution time are got. The experimental results show that the pro- posed method is feasible, more accurate in localization and high in efficiency. The proposed research can not only improve the accuracy and performance of form error assessment, but also provide an effective guideline for the integration of different types of measured surfaces.展开更多

Background and Objectives:Acquired acrodermatitis enteropathica(AE),a rare dermatological condition,often stems from nutritional zinc deficiency linked to prolonged total parenteral nutrition(TPN).This study aims to e...Background and Objectives:Acquired acrodermatitis enteropathica(AE),a rare dermatological condition,often stems from nutritional zinc deficiency linked to prolonged total parenteral nutrition(TPN).This study aims to explore the pathogenesis,clinical characteristics,and treatment approaches for AE,emphasizing the importance of early recognition and intervention.Methods and Study Design:A 51-year-old female patient with acquired AE presented with widespread erythema,pustules,and itching.A comprehensive diagnostic approach,including various tests and skin biopsy pathology,confirmed the diagnosis.Treatment involved zinc gluconate supplementation,topical applications,and symptomatic TPN support.Results:Significant improvement was observed one week post-treatment,with reduced erythema,pustules,and skin lesions,along with improved hair loss.Erosive and ulcerative surfaces healed substantially,indicating positive treatment outcomes.Conclusions:The successful management of adult-onset AE in this case underscores the significance of recognizing clinical features and implementing effective treatment strategies.These findings provide valuable insights for diagnosing and managing AE.展开更多
(Ba_((1-x))Bi_(x))(Ti_((1-x))Mg_(2 x/3)Ta_(x/3))O_(3)(BBTMT-x,x=0.075,0.1,0.125,and 0.15)ceramics were manufactured via a solid-phase reaction method.The pseudo-cubic BaTiO_(3)(BT)as the primary phase and Ba_(4)MgTi_(...(Ba_((1-x))Bi_(x))(Ti_((1-x))Mg_(2 x/3)Ta_(x/3))O_(3)(BBTMT-x,x=0.075,0.1,0.125,and 0.15)ceramics were manufactured via a solid-phase reaction method.The pseudo-cubic BaTiO_(3)(BT)as the primary phase and Ba_(4)MgTi_(11)O_(27)as the secondary phase were detected in BBTMT-x ceramics.The elongated rod-shaped grains therein be-came numerous as x increased.The introduction of Bi/Mg/Ta(BMT)elements transformed BT ceramics from ferroelectrics to relaxor ferroelectrics and induced the formation of short-range order polar nanore-gions(PNRs),which were beneficial for the preeminent energy storage properties(ESPs).The highest ESPs(a giant recoverable energy-storage density W_(rec)of 5.97 J cm^(-3)with a high-efficiencyηof 87.4%)were achieved in BBTMT-0.1 ceramics at 710 kV cm^(-1).BBTMT-0.1 ceramics also possessed excellent fre-quency(1-500 Hz),temperature(30-150℃),and fatigue(cycle number of 1-100,000)stabilities.Finite element simulations(FES)demonstrated that elongated rod-shaped grains had stronger obstacles to the development of electrical branches,which was beneficial to improving the comprehensive ESPs.展开更多
The concept of gait synergy provides novel human-machine interfaces and has been applied to the control of lower limb assistive devices,such as powered prostheses and exoskeletons.Specifically,on the basis of gait syn...The concept of gait synergy provides novel human-machine interfaces and has been applied to the control of lower limb assistive devices,such as powered prostheses and exoskeletons.Specifically,on the basis of gait synergy,the assistive device can generate/predict the appropriate reference trajectories precisely for the affected or missing parts from the motions of sound parts of the patients.Optimal modeling for gait synergy methods that involves optimal combinations of features(inputs)is required to achieve synergic trajectories that improve human–machine interaction.However,previous studies lack thorough discussions on the optimal methods for synergy modeling.In addition,feature selection(FS)that is crucial for reducing data dimensionality and improving modeling quality has often been neglected in previous studies.Here,we comprehensively investigated modeling methods and FS using 4 up-to-date neural networks:sequence-to-sequence(Seq2Seq),long short-term memory(LSTM),recurrent neural network(RNN),and gated recurrent unit(GRU).We also conducted complete FS using 3 commonly used methods:random forest,information gain,and Pearson correlation.Our findings reveal that Seq2Seq(mean absolute error:0.404°and 0.596°,respectively)outperforms LSTM,RNN,and GRU for both interlimb and intralimb synergy modeling.Furthermore,FS is proven to significantly improve Seq2Seq’s modeling performance(P<0.05).FS-Seq2Seq even outperforms methods used in existing studies.Therefore,we propose FSSeq2Seq as a 2-stage strategy for gait synergy modeling in lower limb assistive devices with the aim of achieving synergic and user-adaptive trajectories that improve human-machine interactions.展开更多
Recently we have established a new culture condition enabling the derivation of extended pluripotent stem(EPS)cells,which,compared to conventional pluripotent stem cells,possess superior developmental potential and ge...Recently we have established a new culture condition enabling the derivation of extended pluripotent stem(EPS)cells,which,compared to conventional pluripotent stem cells,possess superior developmental potential and germline competence.However,it remains unclear whether this condition permits derivation of EPS cells from mouse strains that are refractory or non-permissive to pluripotent cell establishment.Here,we show that EPS cells can be robustly generated from non-permissive NOD-sc/d Il2rg 1 mice through de novo derivation from blastocysts.Furthermore,these cells can also be efficiently generated by chemical reprogramming from embryonic NOD-sc/d II2rg-/-fibroblasts.NOD-sc/d II2rg-/-EPS cells can be expanded for more than 20 passages with genomic stability and can be genetically modified through gene targeting.Notably,these cells contribute to both embryonic and extraembryonic lineages in vivo.More importantly,they can produce chimeras and integrate into the E13.5 genital ridge.Our study demonstrates the feasibility of generating EPS cells from refractory mouse strains,which could potentially be a general strategy for deriving mouse pluripotent cells.The generation of NOD-sc/d II2rg-/-Yaqin Du and Ting Wang contributed equally to this work.Electronic supplementary material The online version of this article(https://doi.org/10.1007/s13238-018-0558-z)contains supplementary material,which is available to authorized users.EPS cell lines permits sophisticated genetic modification in NOD-scid II2rg-/-mice,which may greatly advance the optimization of humanized mouse models for biomedical applications.展开更多

The poor physicochemical stability and bioavailability of apigenin were main factors that limited its application in the food industry.Theγ-cyclodextrin-metal-organic frameworks(γ-CD-MOFs)were prepared using polyeth...The poor physicochemical stability and bioavailability of apigenin were main factors that limited its application in the food industry.Theγ-cyclodextrin-metal-organic frameworks(γ-CD-MOFs)were prepared using polyethylene glycol(PEG)as surfactants to solve these issues.The size ofγ-CD-MOFs,ranging from nanometer to micrometer dimensions,could be controlled by using PEG with different molecular weights.Theγ-CD-MOFs based on PEG 10000(molecular weight of 10000)had a small pore size(1.58 nm)and high BET surface area(810.15 m^(2)/g),leading to a high encapsulation efficiency(74.23%)and loading capacity(41.17%)for apigenin.Apigenin interacted withγ-CD-MOFs through van der Waals forces,hydrophobic interactions and hydrogen bonding,but did not affect the inherent crystallinity ofγ-CD-MOFs.Furthermore,γ-CD-MOF-10000 protected apigenin better against UV light and temperature,resulting in better anti-cancer properties and controlled release efficiency(79.89%).This strategy of constructingγ-CD-MOFs nanocarriers with tunable size may open new possibilities for hydrophobic drug applications.展开更多

文摘BACKGROUND Cognitive impairments are core characteristics of schizophrenia,but are largely resistant to current treatments.Several recent studies have shown that highfrequency repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation(rTMS)of the left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex(DLPFC)can reduce negative symptoms and improve certain cognitive deficits in schizophrenia patients.However,results are inconsistent across studies.AIM To examine if high-frequency rTMS of the DLPFC can improve visual memory deficits in patients with schizophrenia.METHODS Forty-seven chronic schizophrenia patients with severe negative symptoms on stable treatment regimens were randomly assigned to receive active rTMS to the DLPFC(n=25)or sham stimulation(n=22)on weekdays for four consecutive weeks.Patients performed the pattern recognition memory(PRM)task from the Cambridge Neuropsychological Test Automated Battery at baseline,at the end of rTMS treatment(week 4),and 4 wk after rTMS treatment(week 8).Clinical symptoms were also measured at these same time points using the Scale for the Assessment of Negative Symptoms(SANS)and the Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale(PANSS).RESULTS There were no significant differences in PRM performance metrics,SANS total score,SANS subscores,PANSS total score,and PANSS subscores between active and sham rTMS groups at the end of the 4-wk treatment period,but PRM performance metrics(percent correct and number correct)and changes in these metrics from baseline were significantly greater in the active rTMS group at week 8 compared to the sham group(all P<0.05).Active rTMS treatment also significantly reduced SANS score at week 8 compared to sham treatment.Moreover,the improvement in visual memory was correlated with the reduction in negative symptoms at week 8.In contrast,there were no between-group differences in PANSS total score and subscale scores at either week 4 or week 8(all P>0.05).CONCLUSION High-frequency transcranial magnetic stimulation improves visual memory and reduces negative symptoms in schizophrenia,but these effects are delayed,potentially due to the requirement for extensive neuroplastic changes within DLPFC networks.

文摘We report on a novel and convenient method of measuring secondary electron spectra for insulators in a secondary electron yield measurement system with a planar grid analyzer configuration and a metal mesh probe. In this measurement, the planar grid is negatively biased to force some emitted secondary electrons to return to the sample surface and to neutralize charges accumulated on the sample during the previous beam irradiation. The surface potential of the sample is then measured by use of a metal mesh probe. The grid bias for neutralization corresponding to the zero surface potential is determined based on the linear relationship between the surface potential and the grid bias. Once the surface potential equals zero, the secondary electron spectra of polymethyl methacrylate(PMMA) are studied experimentally by measuring the -curve and then fitting it to Everhart's formula. The measurement results show that the peak energy and the full width at half maximum of the spectra are 4.26 eV and 14.06 eV, respectively.
文摘Background and Objectives The relationship between left atrial(LA)size and congestive heart failure(CHF)is well recognized;however,there is little information on the association of pulmonary vein(PV)diameter and CHF.The purpose of this study was to investigate the changes of PV and LA sizes in CHF patients by multislice computed tomography(MSCT)angiography using a new 64-slice scanner.Methods and Results We assessed diameters of PVs ostium and LA by 64-slice MSCT with three-dimensional reconstruction in 25 CHF patients and in 26 age-and sex-matched non-CHF controls.Compared with controls,CHF patients showed significant greater diameters of left superior pulmonary vein(LSPV)and right inferior pulmonary vein(RIPV)in both anteriorposterior(AP)and superior-inferior(SI)directions(P<0.01),significant dilation of right superior pulmonary vein(RSPV)in AP direction(P<0.05),as well as significant increase of LA transverse,AP,and SI diameters(P<0.01).Conclusion Significant dilation of PVs with simultaneous LA enlargement was demonstrated in CHF patients.This anatomic and geometric changes may participate in the perpetuation of AF.

文摘Measured surface localization (MSL) is one of the key essentials for the assessment of form error in pre- cision manufacturing. Currently, the researches on MSL have focused on the corresponding relation search between two surfaces, the performance improvement of localization algorithms and the uncertainty analysis of localization. However, low efficiency, limitation of localization algo- rithms and mismatch of multiple similarities of feature points with no prior are the common disadvantages for MSL. In order to match feature points quickly and fulfill MSL efficiently, this paper presents a new localization approach for measured surfaces by extracting the generic umbilics and estimating their single complex variables, describing the match methods of ambiguous relation at umbilics, presenting the initial localization process of one pair matched points, refining MSL on the basis of obtained closet points for some measured points by the improvement directed projection method. In addition, the proposed algorithm is simulated in two different types of surfaces,two different localization types and multiple similar sur- faces, also tested with the part of B-spline surface machined and bottle mould with no knowledge, finally the initial and accurate rigid body transformation matrix, localization errors between two surfaces and execution time are got. The experimental results show that the pro- posed method is feasible, more accurate in localization and high in efficiency. The proposed research can not only improve the accuracy and performance of form error assessment, but also provide an effective guideline for the integration of different types of measured surfaces.

文摘Background and Objectives:Acquired acrodermatitis enteropathica(AE),a rare dermatological condition,often stems from nutritional zinc deficiency linked to prolonged total parenteral nutrition(TPN).This study aims to explore the pathogenesis,clinical characteristics,and treatment approaches for AE,emphasizing the importance of early recognition and intervention.Methods and Study Design:A 51-year-old female patient with acquired AE presented with widespread erythema,pustules,and itching.A comprehensive diagnostic approach,including various tests and skin biopsy pathology,confirmed the diagnosis.Treatment involved zinc gluconate supplementation,topical applications,and symptomatic TPN support.Results:Significant improvement was observed one week post-treatment,with reduced erythema,pustules,and skin lesions,along with improved hair loss.Erosive and ulcerative surfaces healed substantially,indicating positive treatment outcomes.Conclusions:The successful management of adult-onset AE in this case underscores the significance of recognizing clinical features and implementing effective treatment strategies.These findings provide valuable insights for diagnosing and managing AE.

文摘(Ba_((1-x))Bi_(x))(Ti_((1-x))Mg_(2 x/3)Ta_(x/3))O_(3)(BBTMT-x,x=0.075,0.1,0.125,and 0.15)ceramics were manufactured via a solid-phase reaction method.The pseudo-cubic BaTiO_(3)(BT)as the primary phase and Ba_(4)MgTi_(11)O_(27)as the secondary phase were detected in BBTMT-x ceramics.The elongated rod-shaped grains therein be-came numerous as x increased.The introduction of Bi/Mg/Ta(BMT)elements transformed BT ceramics from ferroelectrics to relaxor ferroelectrics and induced the formation of short-range order polar nanore-gions(PNRs),which were beneficial for the preeminent energy storage properties(ESPs).The highest ESPs(a giant recoverable energy-storage density W_(rec)of 5.97 J cm^(-3)with a high-efficiencyηof 87.4%)were achieved in BBTMT-0.1 ceramics at 710 kV cm^(-1).BBTMT-0.1 ceramics also possessed excellent fre-quency(1-500 Hz),temperature(30-150℃),and fatigue(cycle number of 1-100,000)stabilities.Finite element simulations(FES)demonstrated that elongated rod-shaped grains had stronger obstacles to the development of electrical branches,which was beneficial to improving the comprehensive ESPs.

文摘The concept of gait synergy provides novel human-machine interfaces and has been applied to the control of lower limb assistive devices,such as powered prostheses and exoskeletons.Specifically,on the basis of gait synergy,the assistive device can generate/predict the appropriate reference trajectories precisely for the affected or missing parts from the motions of sound parts of the patients.Optimal modeling for gait synergy methods that involves optimal combinations of features(inputs)is required to achieve synergic trajectories that improve human–machine interaction.However,previous studies lack thorough discussions on the optimal methods for synergy modeling.In addition,feature selection(FS)that is crucial for reducing data dimensionality and improving modeling quality has often been neglected in previous studies.Here,we comprehensively investigated modeling methods and FS using 4 up-to-date neural networks:sequence-to-sequence(Seq2Seq),long short-term memory(LSTM),recurrent neural network(RNN),and gated recurrent unit(GRU).We also conducted complete FS using 3 commonly used methods:random forest,information gain,and Pearson correlation.Our findings reveal that Seq2Seq(mean absolute error:0.404°and 0.596°,respectively)outperforms LSTM,RNN,and GRU for both interlimb and intralimb synergy modeling.Furthermore,FS is proven to significantly improve Seq2Seq’s modeling performance(P<0.05).FS-Seq2Seq even outperforms methods used in existing studies.Therefore,we propose FSSeq2Seq as a 2-stage strategy for gait synergy modeling in lower limb assistive devices with the aim of achieving synergic and user-adaptive trajectories that improve human-machine interactions.

文摘Recently we have established a new culture condition enabling the derivation of extended pluripotent stem(EPS)cells,which,compared to conventional pluripotent stem cells,possess superior developmental potential and germline competence.However,it remains unclear whether this condition permits derivation of EPS cells from mouse strains that are refractory or non-permissive to pluripotent cell establishment.Here,we show that EPS cells can be robustly generated from non-permissive NOD-sc/d Il2rg 1 mice through de novo derivation from blastocysts.Furthermore,these cells can also be efficiently generated by chemical reprogramming from embryonic NOD-sc/d II2rg-/-fibroblasts.NOD-sc/d II2rg-/-EPS cells can be expanded for more than 20 passages with genomic stability and can be genetically modified through gene targeting.Notably,these cells contribute to both embryonic and extraembryonic lineages in vivo.More importantly,they can produce chimeras and integrate into the E13.5 genital ridge.Our study demonstrates the feasibility of generating EPS cells from refractory mouse strains,which could potentially be a general strategy for deriving mouse pluripotent cells.The generation of NOD-sc/d II2rg-/-Yaqin Du and Ting Wang contributed equally to this work.Electronic supplementary material The online version of this article(https://doi.org/10.1007/s13238-018-0558-z)contains supplementary material,which is available to authorized users.EPS cell lines permits sophisticated genetic modification in NOD-scid II2rg-/-mice,which may greatly advance the optimization of humanized mouse models for biomedical applications.

文摘The poor physicochemical stability and bioavailability of apigenin were main factors that limited its application in the food industry.Theγ-cyclodextrin-metal-organic frameworks(γ-CD-MOFs)were prepared using polyethylene glycol(PEG)as surfactants to solve these issues.The size ofγ-CD-MOFs,ranging from nanometer to micrometer dimensions,could be controlled by using PEG with different molecular weights.Theγ-CD-MOFs based on PEG 10000(molecular weight of 10000)had a small pore size(1.58 nm)and high BET surface area(810.15 m^(2)/g),leading to a high encapsulation efficiency(74.23%)and loading capacity(41.17%)for apigenin.Apigenin interacted withγ-CD-MOFs through van der Waals forces,hydrophobic interactions and hydrogen bonding,but did not affect the inherent crystallinity ofγ-CD-MOFs.Furthermore,γ-CD-MOF-10000 protected apigenin better against UV light and temperature,resulting in better anti-cancer properties and controlled release efficiency(79.89%).This strategy of constructingγ-CD-MOFs nanocarriers with tunable size may open new possibilities for hydrophobic drug applications.
