Microscale electrochemical energy storage devices,e.g., micro-supercapacitors(MSCs),possessing tailored performance and diversified form factors of lightweight,miniaturization,flexibility and exceptional integration a...Microscale electrochemical energy storage devices,e.g., micro-supercapacitors(MSCs),possessing tailored performance and diversified form factors of lightweight,miniaturization,flexibility and exceptional integration are highly necessary for the smart power sources-unitized electronics.Despite the great progress,the fabrication of MSCs combining high integration with high volumetric performance remains largely unsolved.Herein,we develop a simple,fast and scalable strategy to fabricate graphene based highly integrated MSCs by a new effective continuous centrifugal coating technique.Notably,the resulting highly conductive graphene films can act as not only patterned microelectrodes but also metal-free current collectors and interconnects,endowing modular MSCs with high integrity,remarkable flexibility,tailored voltage and capacitance output,and outstanding performance uniformity.More importantly,the strong centrifugal force and shear force generated in continuous centrifugal coating process lead to graphene films with high alignment,compactness and packing density,contributing to excellent volumetric capacitance of ~31.8 F cm^(-3) and volumetric energy density of ~2.8 mWh cm^(-3),exceeding most reported integrated MSCs.Therefore,our work paves a novel way for simple and scalable fabrication of integrated MSCs and offers promising opportunities as standalone microscale power sources for new-generation electronics.展开更多

Although H. pylori infection is an identified risk factor for gastric cancer, its role in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(ESCC) remains a topic of much debate.AIM To evaluate the association between H. pylori infection and the risk of precancerous lesions of ESCC, and further explore the association between dietary factors and the risk of H. pylori infection.METHODS Two hundred patients with esophageal precancerous lesions(EPL) aged 63.01 ± 6.08 years and 200 healthy controls aged 62.85 ± 6.03 years were included in this case-control study. Epidemiological data and qualitative food frequency data were investigated. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay measuring serum immunoglobulin G antibodies was used to determine H. pylori seropositivity. An unconditional logistic regression model was used to assess the association between H. pylori infection and EPL risk dichotomized by gender, age, and the use of tobacco and alcohol, as well as the association between dietary factors and the risk of H. pylori infection.RESULTS A total of 47(23.5%) EPL cases and 58(29.0%) healthy controls had positive H. pylori infection. An inverse relation between H. pylori infection and the risk of EPL was found in the group of drinkers after adjustment for covariates [odds ratio(OR) = 0.32, 95% confidence interval(95%CI): 0.11-0.95]. Additionally, peanut intake was significantly associated with a decreased risk of H. pylori infection(OR = 0.39, 95%CI: 0.20-0.74).CONCLUSION Our study suggested that H. pylori infection may decrease the risk of EPL for drinkers in a rural adult Chinese population, and the consumption of peanut may reduce the risk of H. pylori infection. These findings should be framed as preliminary evidence, and further studies are required to address whether the mechanisms are related to the localization of lesions and alcohol consumption.展开更多
Palaeowind regime is an important component for reconstructing palaeoclimate and understanding ancient global circulation.We applied the beach-ridge thickness technique(BTT)and the longshore-bar thickness technique(LT...Palaeowind regime is an important component for reconstructing palaeoclimate and understanding ancient global circulation.We applied the beach-ridge thickness technique(BTT)and the longshore-bar thickness technique(LTT)to reconstruct the Early Cretaceous palaeowind velocities based on depositional records of Tanan Depression in Northeast Asia.The thickness of beach ridges and nearshore bars is the most important parameter for applying the BTT and the LTT methods.We identified 22 beach ridges and 23 nearshore bars based on drilling cores and wireline-log data in the Tanan Depression.Palaeowind velocities calculated by using the LTT method ranged from 10.84 to 13.66 m/s,showing a narrower range than those calculated by using the BTT method(7.58–15.93 m/s).We further analyzed the underlying factors causing the difference between the results derived from these two methods based on the sedimentary process of the beach ridge and the nearshore bar.The reconstructed wind regime was assumed to be the summer monsoon originating from the Mongol-Okhotsk Ocean before it had been completely enclosed,which provides valuable insight into the understanding of the atmospheric circulation in Northeast Asia during the Early Cretaceous.展开更多
BACKGROUND The triglyceride glucose-body mass index(TyG-BMI)is a novel indicator of insulin resistance(IR).Obstructive sleep apnea(OSA)is a prevalent disorder characterized by recurrent complete or partial collapse of...BACKGROUND The triglyceride glucose-body mass index(TyG-BMI)is a novel indicator of insulin resistance(IR).Obstructive sleep apnea(OSA)is a prevalent disorder characterized by recurrent complete or partial collapse of the pharyngeal airway during sleep;however,the relationship between these two conditions remains unexplored.We hypothesized that a higher TyG-BMI is associated with the occurrence of OSA.AIM To assess the association between TyG-BMI and OSA in adults in the United States.METHODS A cross-sectional study was conducted utilizing data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Surveys spanning from 2005-2008 to 2015-2018.TyGBMI was calculated as Ln[triglyceride(mg/dL)×fasting blood glucose(mg/dL)/2]×BMI.Restricted cubic splines were used to analyze the risk of TyG-BMI and OSA occurrence.To identify potential nonlinear relationships,we combined Cox proportional hazard regression with smooth curve fitting.We also conducted sensitivity and subgroup analyses to verify the robustness of our findings.RESULTS We included 16794 participants in the final analysis.Multivariate regression analysis showed that participants with a higher TyG-BMI had a higher OSA incidence.After adjusting for all covariates,TyG-BMI was positively correlated with the prevalence of OSA(odds ratio:1.28;95%confidence interval:1.17,1.40;P<0.001);no significant nonlinear relationship was observed.Subgroup analysis showed no strong correlation between TyG-BMI and OSA in patients with diabetes.The correlation between TyG-BMI and OSA was influenced by age,sex,smoking status,marital status,hypertensive stratification,and obesity;these subgroups played a moderating role between TyGBMI and OSA.Even after adjusting for all covariates,there was a positive association between TYG-BMI and OSA prevalence.CONCLUSION A higher TyG-BMI index is linked to higher chances of developing OSA.As TyG-BMI is an indicator of IR,managing IR may help reduce the risk of OSA.展开更多
Focusing on the Zengmu-Beikang Basin in the southern South China Sea,we summarized the regional sequence stratigraphic framework and identified mass-transport complex(MTC)that had developed since the Late Miocene(10.5...Focusing on the Zengmu-Beikang Basin in the southern South China Sea,we summarized the regional sequence stratigraphic framework and identified mass-transport complex(MTC)that had developed since the Late Miocene(10.5 Ma),by using high-resolution multibeam bathymetric and 2D seismic datasets.Based on the analysis of high amplitude and continuous seismic reflections within the mass-transport deposits(MTDs),we identified 14 basal shear surfaces(BSS)and divided the MTC into 14 units(MTD1–MTD14 from the youngest to the oldest in numerical order).Two types of seismic facies and five seismic features within the MTDs were recognized,including chaotic and transparent facies(debris flow),chaotic and semi-transparent facies(debris flow),thrust-fold systems,blocks,escarpments,pressure ridges,and normal faults.Analysis of the depositional area,frequency,and vertical extent of the escarpments of the fourteen MTD units revealed their variations in dimensions.Specifically,MTD14–MTD4 exhibited a gradual increase in the size of the deposition unit,with larger-sized MTD7–MTD4;while MTD3–MTD1 showed a gradual decrease in the size.The evolution of the MTDs in the study area is primarily controlled by several factors,including erosion of mass-movement processes(e.g.,slide,slump,and mass flows),sea-level fluctuation and sediment supply,tectonic activity,development of mud diapirs,and topographic influence.It is also plausible that the large-sized MTD7–MTD4 might be formed in the Pliocene due to steep slope gradient and instability caused by the development of mud diapirs,whereas in the Quaternary,the influence of mud diapirs in the shallow strata diminished,and smaller-sized MTD3–MTD1 were formed.展开更多

The peak odor rating of the fishy odor was 7 according to flavor profile analysis. Among the dominant algal species (two diatom and one chrysophyte species) observed during the survey, the chrysophyte Dinobryon sp. was the most abundant species, with the peak density recorded at 88,520 cells/mL. Seven potential algal metabolites including heptanal, 2,4-heptadienal, 2,4-decadienal, nonanal, 2-octenal, 2,6- nonadienal and hexanal were detected. The principal component analysis result showed that n-hexanal, n-heptanal and 2,4-decadienal, possibly the metabolites of diatoms, and 2,4-heptadienal, possibly the metabolite of Dinobryon sp., might have contributed to the fishy odor episode. This study demonstrated that the fishy odor episode in this reservoir might be caused by the abnormal growth of chrysophytes and diatoms under the ice-cover.展开更多
AIM:To explore the potential risk factors related to gastrointestinal cancer in northern China.METHODS:A total of 3314 cases of gastrointestinal cancer(esophageal,gastric,pancreatic and biliary) and 2223 controls(incl...AIM:To explore the potential risk factors related to gastrointestinal cancer in northern China.METHODS:A total of 3314 cases of gastrointestinal cancer(esophageal,gastric,pancreatic and biliary) and 2223 controls(including healthy individuals,glioma and thyroid cancer) were analyzed by case-control study.Multivariable logistic regression analysis was applied to evaluate the association between different cancers and hepatitis B surface antigen,sex,age,blood type,diabetes,or family history of cancer.RESULTS:Type 2 diabetes was significantly associated with gastric,biliary and pancreatic cancer with an OR of 2.0-3.0.Blood type B was significantly associated with esophageal cancer [odd ratio(OR) = 1.53,95% confidence interval(CI) = 1.10-2.14] and biliary cancer(OR = 1.49,95% CI = 1.09-2.05).The prevalence of type 2 diabetes was significantly higher in gastric,biliary and pancreatic cancers compared with other groups,with ORs ranging between 2.0 and 3.0.Family history of cancer was strongly associated with gastrointestinal compared with other cancers.CONCLUSION:Blood type B individuals are susceptible to esophageal and biliary cancer.Type 2 diabetes is significantly associated with gastric,biliary and especially pancreatic cancer.展开更多

The earthy-musty odorant MIB has an extremely low odor threshol...Odor problems in source water caused by 2-methylisoborneol(MIB) have been a common issue in China recently, posing a high risk to drinking water safety. The earthy-musty odorant MIB has an extremely low odor threshold(4–16 ng/L) and is hard to remove via conventional processes in drinking water plants(DWP), and therefore could easily provoke complaints from consumers. This compound is produced by a group of filamentous cyanobacteria, mainly belonging to Oscillatoriales. Different from the well-studied surface-blooming Microcystis, filamentous cyanobacteria have specific niche characteristics that allow them to stay at a subsurface or deep layer in the water column. The underwater bloom of these MIB producers is therefore passively determined by the underwater light availability, which is governed by the cell density of surface scum. This suggests that drinking water reservoirs with relatively low nutrient contents are not able to support surface blooms, but are a fairly good fit to the specialized ecological niche of filamentous cyanobacteria;this could explain the widespread odor problems in source water. At present, MIB is mainly treated in DWP using advanced treatment processes and/or activated carbon, but these post-treatment methods have high cost, and not able to deal with water containing high MIB concentrations.Thus, in situ control of MIB producers in source water is an effective complement and is desirable. Lowering the underwater light availability is a possible measure to control MIB producers according to their niche characteristics, which can be obtained by either changing the water level or other measures.展开更多

Based on the interpretation of high resolution 2 D/3 D seismic and drilling data, depositional characteristics of three large deep-water canyon systems on the South China Sea northern margin have been analyzed. The Central Canyon System has a deep incision geomorphology extending from east to west, featured by distinct canyon segmentations, multi-provenance sediment supplies and multi-stage canyon fillings. The Pearl River Canyon System’s formation is closely related to the development of Pearl River Delta. Its vertical stacking and migrating canyon patterns have changed over time. The depositional architectures and evolution of the recent Penghu-Gaoping Canyon System respond to tectonic movements along the Taiwan-Luzon convergent continental margin. The main controlling factors of the formation and evolution of these three canyon systems include the tectonic setting, sediment supply, sea level change and paleo-geomorphology, among which the former two are dominant. The Penghu-Gaoping Canyon System formed along the subduction structural zone, directly indicating a typical tectonic origin. Numerous seismic data show that the Central Canyon and Pearl River Canyon systems are obviously affected by tectonics, associated local topography and sediment supply.展开更多

Drain removal and discharge of the patient from the hospital were scheduled on postoperative day(POD) 7; however, a magnetic resonance imaging scan revealed the presence of PVT. We suspected postoperative inflammation in the pancreas as the main cause of PVT. The dynamics of phytoplankton community was represented by the dominance of cyanobacteria through summer and fall, following with a short term dominance of chlorophyta in late fall, and a relatively high abundance of diatom in October; on the other hand, maximum phytoplankton biomass was recorded in the north shallow region of Miyun reservoir with a higher nutrients level. Particular attention was paid to the impacts of environmental conditions on the growth of two cyanobacteria genera, the toxin-producing Microcystis and the taste & odor-producing Oscillatoria. Microcystis biomass was in general greatly affected by water temperature and mixing depth/local water depth ratio in this reservoir, while the Oscillatoria biomass in the surface and middle layers was greatly affected by total dissolved phosphorus, and that in the bottom layer was related with the Secchi depth/local water depth ratio. Abundant Oscillatoria biomass was observed only in late September when Microcystis biomass decreased and allowed sufficient light go through.展开更多
Large-size primary MC carbides can significantly reduce the performance of M2 high-speed steel.To better control the morphology and size of primary MC carbides,the effect of melting rate on microsegregation and primar...Large-size primary MC carbides can significantly reduce the performance of M2 high-speed steel.To better control the morphology and size of primary MC carbides,the effect of melting rate on microsegregation and primary MC carbides of M2 steel during electroslag remelting was investigated.When the melting rate is decreased from 2 kg·min^(-1) to 0.8 kg·min^(-1),the columnar dendrites are gradually coarsened,and the extent of segregation of Mo and V is alleviated,while the segregation of Cr becomes severe.At 2 kg·min^(-1),the number of primary MC carbides per unit area with the sizes in the range of 2 μm to 6 μm accounts for about 75% of all MC carbides,while the carbides are mainly concentrated on the size larger than 8 μm at 0.8 kg·min^(-1).Thermodynamic calculations based on the Clyne-Kurz (simplified to C-K) model shows that MC carbide can be precipitated in the final solidification stage and a smaller secondary dendrite arm spacing caused by higher melting rate (2 kg·min^(-1) in this experiment) facilitates the refinement of primary MC carbides.展开更多
Background:To evaluate the efficacy of stent-assisted coiling(SAC)for the treatment of carotid ophthalmic segment aneurysm segment aneurysms(OSAs)of the internal carotid artery(ICA)through detailed long-term follow-up...Background:To evaluate the efficacy of stent-assisted coiling(SAC)for the treatment of carotid ophthalmic segment aneurysm segment aneurysms(OSAs)of the internal carotid artery(ICA)through detailed long-term follow-up of a large patient cohort.Methods:We retrospectively analyzed 88 consecutive patients with OSAs between January 2009 and January 2020 at our center.Angiographic results were evaluated using the modified Raymond grading system and clinical outcomes were evaluated using the mRS scale.The primary endpoints were major aneurysm recurrence and poor clinical outcomes for at least 18 months of follow-up.The patients were asked to attend clinical follow-up assessments and possibly undergo DSA or MR via telephone.Results:We enrolled 88 patients with 99 OSAs treated with coiling,of whom 76 were treated with SAC.The coiling procedures were successful in all 88 patients.Overall,complications occurred in 8 patients(9.1%).No procedure-related mortality was observed.67(76.1%)experienced immediate aneurysm occlusion at the end of the procedure.Long-term angiographic follow-up(18 months)was available in 45/88 aneurysms(51%)(average 18.7±5.2 months).Four patients continued their follow-up for 5 years after initial aneurysm treatment.After a clinical follow-up time of 28.7 months(range,12-51 months),85 patients(95.5%)achieved favorable clinical outcomes(mRS scores of 0-2).Conclusions:This study indicates that SAC treatment is a safe and effective therapeutic alternative for ruptured and unruptured OSAs.The procedural risks are low with relatively long-term effectiveness.展开更多

The Shenhu Submarine Canyon Group on the northern slope of the South China Sea consists of 17 slope-confined canyons,providing a good example for investigating their hosting sediments.Three drilling sites,including W0...The Shenhu Submarine Canyon Group on the northern slope of the South China Sea consists of 17 slope-confined canyons,providing a good example for investigating their hosting sediments.Three drilling sites,including W07,W18,and W19,have proven the occurrence of gas hydrate reservoirs in the inter-canyon area between canyons C11 and C12.Whereas,variations of the geomorphology and seismic facies analyzed by high-resolution 3D seismic data indicate that the gas hydrate-bearing sediments may form in different sedimentary processes.In the upper segment,a set of small-scale channels with obvious topographic lows can be identified,revealing fine-grained turbidites supplied from the shelf region during a very short-term sea-level lowstand.In the middle part,gas hydrate units at Site W07 showing mounded or undulation external configuration are interpreted as sliding sedimentary features,and those features caused by gravity destabilization were the main formative mechanism of gas hydrate-bearing sediments that were sourced from the upper segments.In contrast,for the canyon transition zone of lower segments between C11-C12 inter-canyon and C12 intra-canyon areas,where W18 and W19 sites are located,the gas hydratebearing sediments are deposited in the channelized feature in the middle to lower segment and slide erosive surface.Gas hydrate-bearing sediments of the lower segment were migrated through channelized features interconnecting with the middle to lower slope by gravity-driven flows.The majority of deposits tended to be furtherly moved by lateral migration via erosive surface created by sediment failed to intra-canyon area.The conclusion of this study may help better understand the interaction between the formation mechanism of gas hydrate-bearing sediments and the geomorphologic effects of inter-canyon areas.展开更多
BACKGROUND Ligamentoid fibromatosis is a rare borderline tumor that occurs in the muscles,fascia,and aponeurosis.It is a kind of soft tissue tumor of fibrous origin,also known as invasive fibromatosis,desmoid fibroma,...BACKGROUND Ligamentoid fibromatosis is a rare borderline tumor that occurs in the muscles,fascia,and aponeurosis.It is a kind of soft tissue tumor of fibrous origin,also known as invasive fibromatosis,desmoid fibroma,neurofibromatosis,etc.The tumor is between benign and malignant tumors and rarely has distant metastasis.Its characteristics are mainly local invasion,destruction and growth and easy recurrence.The World Health Organization defines it as a fibroblast cloning value-added lesion originating from deep soft tissue,which causes local invasion and growth leading to tissue reconstruction,extrusion and destruction of important structures and organs.The incidence rate accounts for 0.03%of all tumors and less than 3%of all soft tissue tumors.Definite diagnosis mainly depends on postoperative pathology.Surgical resection is still the main way to treat the disease,and a variety of nonsurgical treatment methods are auxiliary.Combined treatment can effectively reduce the risk of postoperative recurrence.CASE SUMMARY The patient is a 57-year-old female.One week ago,she accidentally found a mass in the left upper abdomen while lying flat.There was no abdominal pain and abdominal distention,no fever,no black stool and blood in the stool and no nausea and vomiting.She had a 10-year history of glaucoma on the left side,underwent hysterectomy for uterine fibroids 5 years ago,had no hypertension,heart disease,diabetes,hepatitis or tuberculosis,had no history of smoking and had been drinking for 20 years.CONCLUSION Accurate preoperative diagnosis is difficult,surgical resection is the main treatment,and a variety of nonsurgical treatment methods are auxiliary.Combined treatment can effectively reduce the risk of postoperative recurrence.The prognosis is still good,and the risk of recurrence of secondary surgery is greatly increased.展开更多

In particular, five typical seismic facies were identified based on an integrated analysis of the amplitude, continuity, contact relationship, and morphologies of seismic reflections. Bathyal-abyssal fine-grained sediments, deltaic front sandy bodies, turbidites, and small-scale turbidite channels were developed in the Middle Miocene according to the tectonic-sedimentary evolution of the sedimentary basins in the southern South China Sea. The findings of this study suggest that deltaic front sandy bodies and turbidites can be considered as the two major types of deep-water clastic reservoirs for the depression stage of Beikang Basin. A well-developed source-reservoir-cap assemblage was composed by deep rift-stage source rocks, deep-water clastic reservoirs of the Middle Miocene, and bathyal-abyssal deep-water fine-grained sediments after the Middle Miocene, implying a good potential for hydrocarbon exploration.展开更多
Cell behavior is affected by nanostructured surface,but it remains unknown how ionizing radiation af-fects cells on nanostructured surface.This paper reports an experimental investigation of X-ray radiation induced da...Cell behavior is affected by nanostructured surface,but it remains unknown how ionizing radiation af-fects cells on nanostructured surface.This paper reports an experimental investigation of X-ray radiation induced damage of cells placed on an array of vertically aligned silicon nanowires.X-ray photoelectrons and secondary electrons produced from nanowire array are measured and compared to those from flat silicon substrate.The cell functions including morphology,viability,adhesion and proliferation have been examined and found to be drastically affected when cells are exposed to X-ray radiation,compared to those sitting on flat substrate and those only exposed to X-ray.The enhanced cell damage on nanowires upon X-ray exposure is attributed to nanowire enhanced production of photoelectrons including Auger electrons and secondary electrons,which have high escaping probability from sharp tips of nanowires.The escaped photoelectrons ionize water molecules and generate hydroxyl free radicals that can damage DNAs of cells.An inference of this work is that the contrast in scanning electron microscopy is useful in assessing the effects of nanomaterials for enhanced X-ray radiation therapy.展开更多
Herein,a hot cracking initiation criterion based on the characteristics of solidification liquid film and the microstructure was proposed,which integrated both the mechanical and non-mechanical factors during solidifi...Herein,a hot cracking initiation criterion based on the characteristics of solidification liquid film and the microstructure was proposed,which integrated both the mechanical and non-mechanical factors during solidification.The criterion also took the effect of the shrinkage volume of the solid-liquid two-phase in the mushy zone,the flow behavior of the liquid film and the microstructure on the feeding behavior into account.Meanwhile,the effect factors of hot cracking initiation such as alloy composition,microstructure,mold design and process condition were included in this criterion,and it could quantitatively calculate whether hot cracks occurred under a certain state or not during solidification.The criterion was utilized to predict whether hot cracks occurred in Al-4.0 wt%Cu alloy in different initial solidification states or not,which was consistent with the experimental results and verified its reliability.According to the criterion expression,Vfeeding*was related with five effect factors includingη,ΔP*,l*,r*and n,in which r*and n were in positive correlation with Vfeeding*whileη,ΔP*and l*were in negative correlation with that,which provided a good instructive significance for mold design,process optimization and composition and microstructure regulation of alloys and simultaneously further enriched the mechanism and influencing factors of hot cracking initiation.Furthermore,a multiscale simulation method for calculating the characteristic parameters of hot tearing behavior during solidification was also provided in this study.展开更多

文摘Microscale electrochemical energy storage devices,e.g., micro-supercapacitors(MSCs),possessing tailored performance and diversified form factors of lightweight,miniaturization,flexibility and exceptional integration are highly necessary for the smart power sources-unitized electronics.Despite the great progress,the fabrication of MSCs combining high integration with high volumetric performance remains largely unsolved.Herein,we develop a simple,fast and scalable strategy to fabricate graphene based highly integrated MSCs by a new effective continuous centrifugal coating technique.Notably,the resulting highly conductive graphene films can act as not only patterned microelectrodes but also metal-free current collectors and interconnects,endowing modular MSCs with high integrity,remarkable flexibility,tailored voltage and capacitance output,and outstanding performance uniformity.More importantly,the strong centrifugal force and shear force generated in continuous centrifugal coating process lead to graphene films with high alignment,compactness and packing density,contributing to excellent volumetric capacitance of ~31.8 F cm^(-3) and volumetric energy density of ~2.8 mWh cm^(-3),exceeding most reported integrated MSCs.Therefore,our work paves a novel way for simple and scalable fabrication of integrated MSCs and offers promising opportunities as standalone microscale power sources for new-generation electronics.

文摘BACKGROUND Helicobacter pylori(H. pylori) is a Gram-negative bacterium found in the upper digestive tract. Although H. pylori infection is an identified risk factor for gastric cancer, its role in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(ESCC) remains a topic of much debate.AIM To evaluate the association between H. pylori infection and the risk of precancerous lesions of ESCC, and further explore the association between dietary factors and the risk of H. pylori infection.METHODS Two hundred patients with esophageal precancerous lesions(EPL) aged 63.01 ± 6.08 years and 200 healthy controls aged 62.85 ± 6.03 years were included in this case-control study. Epidemiological data and qualitative food frequency data were investigated. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay measuring serum immunoglobulin G antibodies was used to determine H. pylori seropositivity. An unconditional logistic regression model was used to assess the association between H. pylori infection and EPL risk dichotomized by gender, age, and the use of tobacco and alcohol, as well as the association between dietary factors and the risk of H. pylori infection.RESULTS A total of 47(23.5%) EPL cases and 58(29.0%) healthy controls had positive H. pylori infection. An inverse relation between H. pylori infection and the risk of EPL was found in the group of drinkers after adjustment for covariates [odds ratio(OR) = 0.32, 95% confidence interval(95%CI): 0.11-0.95]. Additionally, peanut intake was significantly associated with a decreased risk of H. pylori infection(OR = 0.39, 95%CI: 0.20-0.74).CONCLUSION Our study suggested that H. pylori infection may decrease the risk of EPL for drinkers in a rural adult Chinese population, and the consumption of peanut may reduce the risk of H. pylori infection. These findings should be framed as preliminary evidence, and further studies are required to address whether the mechanisms are related to the localization of lesions and alcohol consumption.

文摘Palaeowind regime is an important component for reconstructing palaeoclimate and understanding ancient global circulation.We applied the beach-ridge thickness technique(BTT)and the longshore-bar thickness technique(LTT)to reconstruct the Early Cretaceous palaeowind velocities based on depositional records of Tanan Depression in Northeast Asia.The thickness of beach ridges and nearshore bars is the most important parameter for applying the BTT and the LTT methods.We identified 22 beach ridges and 23 nearshore bars based on drilling cores and wireline-log data in the Tanan Depression.Palaeowind velocities calculated by using the LTT method ranged from 10.84 to 13.66 m/s,showing a narrower range than those calculated by using the BTT method(7.58–15.93 m/s).We further analyzed the underlying factors causing the difference between the results derived from these two methods based on the sedimentary process of the beach ridge and the nearshore bar.The reconstructed wind regime was assumed to be the summer monsoon originating from the Mongol-Okhotsk Ocean before it had been completely enclosed,which provides valuable insight into the understanding of the atmospheric circulation in Northeast Asia during the Early Cretaceous.

文摘BACKGROUND The triglyceride glucose-body mass index(TyG-BMI)is a novel indicator of insulin resistance(IR).Obstructive sleep apnea(OSA)is a prevalent disorder characterized by recurrent complete or partial collapse of the pharyngeal airway during sleep;however,the relationship between these two conditions remains unexplored.We hypothesized that a higher TyG-BMI is associated with the occurrence of OSA.AIM To assess the association between TyG-BMI and OSA in adults in the United States.METHODS A cross-sectional study was conducted utilizing data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Surveys spanning from 2005-2008 to 2015-2018.TyGBMI was calculated as Ln[triglyceride(mg/dL)×fasting blood glucose(mg/dL)/2]×BMI.Restricted cubic splines were used to analyze the risk of TyG-BMI and OSA occurrence.To identify potential nonlinear relationships,we combined Cox proportional hazard regression with smooth curve fitting.We also conducted sensitivity and subgroup analyses to verify the robustness of our findings.RESULTS We included 16794 participants in the final analysis.Multivariate regression analysis showed that participants with a higher TyG-BMI had a higher OSA incidence.After adjusting for all covariates,TyG-BMI was positively correlated with the prevalence of OSA(odds ratio:1.28;95%confidence interval:1.17,1.40;P<0.001);no significant nonlinear relationship was observed.Subgroup analysis showed no strong correlation between TyG-BMI and OSA in patients with diabetes.The correlation between TyG-BMI and OSA was influenced by age,sex,smoking status,marital status,hypertensive stratification,and obesity;these subgroups played a moderating role between TyGBMI and OSA.Even after adjusting for all covariates,there was a positive association between TYG-BMI and OSA prevalence.CONCLUSION A higher TyG-BMI index is linked to higher chances of developing OSA.As TyG-BMI is an indicator of IR,managing IR may help reduce the risk of OSA.

文摘Focusing on the Zengmu-Beikang Basin in the southern South China Sea,we summarized the regional sequence stratigraphic framework and identified mass-transport complex(MTC)that had developed since the Late Miocene(10.5 Ma),by using high-resolution multibeam bathymetric and 2D seismic datasets.Based on the analysis of high amplitude and continuous seismic reflections within the mass-transport deposits(MTDs),we identified 14 basal shear surfaces(BSS)and divided the MTC into 14 units(MTD1–MTD14 from the youngest to the oldest in numerical order).Two types of seismic facies and five seismic features within the MTDs were recognized,including chaotic and transparent facies(debris flow),chaotic and semi-transparent facies(debris flow),thrust-fold systems,blocks,escarpments,pressure ridges,and normal faults.Analysis of the depositional area,frequency,and vertical extent of the escarpments of the fourteen MTD units revealed their variations in dimensions.Specifically,MTD14–MTD4 exhibited a gradual increase in the size of the deposition unit,with larger-sized MTD7–MTD4;while MTD3–MTD1 showed a gradual decrease in the size.The evolution of the MTDs in the study area is primarily controlled by several factors,including erosion of mass-movement processes(e.g.,slide,slump,and mass flows),sea-level fluctuation and sediment supply,tectonic activity,development of mud diapirs,and topographic influence.It is also plausible that the large-sized MTD7–MTD4 might be formed in the Pliocene due to steep slope gradient and instability caused by the development of mud diapirs,whereas in the Quaternary,the influence of mud diapirs in the shallow strata diminished,and smaller-sized MTD3–MTD1 were formed.

文摘A significant outbreak of fishy odor occurred in a reservoir located in Inner Mongolia, China, in the winter of 2011, and the odor rating, algal density and concentrations of some potential odorous compounds were monitored over a period of two months. The peak odor rating of the fishy odor was 7 according to flavor profile analysis. Among the dominant algal species (two diatom and one chrysophyte species) observed during the survey, the chrysophyte Dinobryon sp. was the most abundant species, with the peak density recorded at 88,520 cells/mL. Seven potential algal metabolites including heptanal, 2,4-heptadienal, 2,4-decadienal, nonanal, 2-octenal, 2,6- nonadienal and hexanal were detected. The principal component analysis result showed that n-hexanal, n-heptanal and 2,4-decadienal, possibly the metabolites of diatoms, and 2,4-heptadienal, possibly the metabolite of Dinobryon sp., might have contributed to the fishy odor episode. This study demonstrated that the fishy odor episode in this reservoir might be caused by the abnormal growth of chrysophytes and diatoms under the ice-cover.

文摘AIM:To explore the potential risk factors related to gastrointestinal cancer in northern China.METHODS:A total of 3314 cases of gastrointestinal cancer(esophageal,gastric,pancreatic and biliary) and 2223 controls(including healthy individuals,glioma and thyroid cancer) were analyzed by case-control study.Multivariable logistic regression analysis was applied to evaluate the association between different cancers and hepatitis B surface antigen,sex,age,blood type,diabetes,or family history of cancer.RESULTS:Type 2 diabetes was significantly associated with gastric,biliary and pancreatic cancer with an OR of 2.0-3.0.Blood type B was significantly associated with esophageal cancer [odd ratio(OR) = 1.53,95% confidence interval(CI) = 1.10-2.14] and biliary cancer(OR = 1.49,95% CI = 1.09-2.05).The prevalence of type 2 diabetes was significantly higher in gastric,biliary and pancreatic cancers compared with other groups,with ORs ranging between 2.0 and 3.0.Family history of cancer was strongly associated with gastrointestinal compared with other cancers.CONCLUSION:Blood type B individuals are susceptible to esophageal and biliary cancer.Type 2 diabetes is significantly associated with gastric,biliary and especially pancreatic cancer.

文摘Odor problems in source water caused by 2-methylisoborneol(MIB) have been a common issue in China recently, posing a high risk to drinking water safety. The earthy-musty odorant MIB has an extremely low odor threshold(4–16 ng/L) and is hard to remove via conventional processes in drinking water plants(DWP), and therefore could easily provoke complaints from consumers. This compound is produced by a group of filamentous cyanobacteria, mainly belonging to Oscillatoriales. Different from the well-studied surface-blooming Microcystis, filamentous cyanobacteria have specific niche characteristics that allow them to stay at a subsurface or deep layer in the water column. The underwater bloom of these MIB producers is therefore passively determined by the underwater light availability, which is governed by the cell density of surface scum. This suggests that drinking water reservoirs with relatively low nutrient contents are not able to support surface blooms, but are a fairly good fit to the specialized ecological niche of filamentous cyanobacteria;this could explain the widespread odor problems in source water. At present, MIB is mainly treated in DWP using advanced treatment processes and/or activated carbon, but these post-treatment methods have high cost, and not able to deal with water containing high MIB concentrations.Thus, in situ control of MIB producers in source water is an effective complement and is desirable. Lowering the underwater light availability is a possible measure to control MIB producers according to their niche characteristics, which can be obtained by either changing the water level or other measures.

文摘Submarine canyon systems are sites for coarser clastic sediment accumulations in the deep-water domains, having the most potential for hydrocarbon reservoirs. Based on the interpretation of high resolution 2 D/3 D seismic and drilling data, depositional characteristics of three large deep-water canyon systems on the South China Sea northern margin have been analyzed. The Central Canyon System has a deep incision geomorphology extending from east to west, featured by distinct canyon segmentations, multi-provenance sediment supplies and multi-stage canyon fillings. The Pearl River Canyon System’s formation is closely related to the development of Pearl River Delta. Its vertical stacking and migrating canyon patterns have changed over time. The depositional architectures and evolution of the recent Penghu-Gaoping Canyon System respond to tectonic movements along the Taiwan-Luzon convergent continental margin. The main controlling factors of the formation and evolution of these three canyon systems include the tectonic setting, sediment supply, sea level change and paleo-geomorphology, among which the former two are dominant. The Penghu-Gaoping Canyon System formed along the subduction structural zone, directly indicating a typical tectonic origin. Numerous seismic data show that the Central Canyon and Pearl River Canyon systems are obviously affected by tectonics, associated local topography and sediment supply.
文摘Portal vein thrombosis(PVT) is a rare but serious postoperative complication associated with irreversible electroporation(IRE). We report a case of postoperative PVT in a 54-year-old woman who underwent IRE for locally advanced pancreatic cancer. Drain removal and discharge of the patient from the hospital were scheduled on postoperative day(POD) 7; however, a magnetic resonance imaging scan revealed the presence of PVT. We suspected postoperative inflammation in the pancreas as the main cause of PVT. However, the patient did not undergo any medical treatment because she did not have any clinical symptoms, and she was discharged on POD 8.

文摘Spatial variations in phytoplankton community within a large mesotrophic reservoir (Miyun reservoir, North China) were investigated in relation to variations in physico-chemical properties, nutrient concentrations, temperature and light conditions over a 5 month period in 2009. The dynamics of phytoplankton community was represented by the dominance of cyanobacteria through summer and fall, following with a short term dominance of chlorophyta in late fall, and a relatively high abundance of diatom in October; on the other hand, maximum phytoplankton biomass was recorded in the north shallow region of Miyun reservoir with a higher nutrients level. Particular attention was paid to the impacts of environmental conditions on the growth of two cyanobacteria genera, the toxin-producing Microcystis and the taste & odor-producing Oscillatoria. Microcystis biomass was in general greatly affected by water temperature and mixing depth/local water depth ratio in this reservoir, while the Oscillatoria biomass in the surface and middle layers was greatly affected by total dissolved phosphorus, and that in the bottom layer was related with the Secchi depth/local water depth ratio. Abundant Oscillatoria biomass was observed only in late September when Microcystis biomass decreased and allowed sufficient light go through.

文摘Large-size primary MC carbides can significantly reduce the performance of M2 high-speed steel.To better control the morphology and size of primary MC carbides,the effect of melting rate on microsegregation and primary MC carbides of M2 steel during electroslag remelting was investigated.When the melting rate is decreased from 2 kg·min^(-1) to 0.8 kg·min^(-1),the columnar dendrites are gradually coarsened,and the extent of segregation of Mo and V is alleviated,while the segregation of Cr becomes severe.At 2 kg·min^(-1),the number of primary MC carbides per unit area with the sizes in the range of 2 μm to 6 μm accounts for about 75% of all MC carbides,while the carbides are mainly concentrated on the size larger than 8 μm at 0.8 kg·min^(-1).Thermodynamic calculations based on the Clyne-Kurz (simplified to C-K) model shows that MC carbide can be precipitated in the final solidification stage and a smaller secondary dendrite arm spacing caused by higher melting rate (2 kg·min^(-1) in this experiment) facilitates the refinement of primary MC carbides.

文摘Background:To evaluate the efficacy of stent-assisted coiling(SAC)for the treatment of carotid ophthalmic segment aneurysm segment aneurysms(OSAs)of the internal carotid artery(ICA)through detailed long-term follow-up of a large patient cohort.Methods:We retrospectively analyzed 88 consecutive patients with OSAs between January 2009 and January 2020 at our center.Angiographic results were evaluated using the modified Raymond grading system and clinical outcomes were evaluated using the mRS scale.The primary endpoints were major aneurysm recurrence and poor clinical outcomes for at least 18 months of follow-up.The patients were asked to attend clinical follow-up assessments and possibly undergo DSA or MR via telephone.Results:We enrolled 88 patients with 99 OSAs treated with coiling,of whom 76 were treated with SAC.The coiling procedures were successful in all 88 patients.Overall,complications occurred in 8 patients(9.1%).No procedure-related mortality was observed.67(76.1%)experienced immediate aneurysm occlusion at the end of the procedure.Long-term angiographic follow-up(18 months)was available in 45/88 aneurysms(51%)(average 18.7±5.2 months).Four patients continued their follow-up for 5 years after initial aneurysm treatment.After a clinical follow-up time of 28.7 months(range,12-51 months),85 patients(95.5%)achieved favorable clinical outcomes(mRS scores of 0-2).Conclusions:This study indicates that SAC treatment is a safe and effective therapeutic alternative for ruptured and unruptured OSAs.The procedural risks are low with relatively long-term effectiveness.

文摘Determining the mass of plutonium metal is an important research objective in the field of nuclear material accounting and control.Based on the 3D neutron and photon transport code JMCT(Jointed Monte Carlo Transport),the gamma ray multiplicity of ^(240)Pu was simulated in this study,and the average number of gamma rays leaking from ^(240)Pu solid spheres with different masses was also obtained.The simulation results show that there is a oneto-one correspondence between the average number of gamma rays and the mass of ^(240)Pu solid spheres in the range of 0.50–3.00 kg.This result provides a basis for using the average number of gamma rays to account for the mass of ^(240)Pu.

文摘The Shenhu Submarine Canyon Group on the northern slope of the South China Sea consists of 17 slope-confined canyons,providing a good example for investigating their hosting sediments.Three drilling sites,including W07,W18,and W19,have proven the occurrence of gas hydrate reservoirs in the inter-canyon area between canyons C11 and C12.Whereas,variations of the geomorphology and seismic facies analyzed by high-resolution 3D seismic data indicate that the gas hydrate-bearing sediments may form in different sedimentary processes.In the upper segment,a set of small-scale channels with obvious topographic lows can be identified,revealing fine-grained turbidites supplied from the shelf region during a very short-term sea-level lowstand.In the middle part,gas hydrate units at Site W07 showing mounded or undulation external configuration are interpreted as sliding sedimentary features,and those features caused by gravity destabilization were the main formative mechanism of gas hydrate-bearing sediments that were sourced from the upper segments.In contrast,for the canyon transition zone of lower segments between C11-C12 inter-canyon and C12 intra-canyon areas,where W18 and W19 sites are located,the gas hydratebearing sediments are deposited in the channelized feature in the middle to lower segment and slide erosive surface.Gas hydrate-bearing sediments of the lower segment were migrated through channelized features interconnecting with the middle to lower slope by gravity-driven flows.The majority of deposits tended to be furtherly moved by lateral migration via erosive surface created by sediment failed to intra-canyon area.The conclusion of this study may help better understand the interaction between the formation mechanism of gas hydrate-bearing sediments and the geomorphologic effects of inter-canyon areas.
文摘BACKGROUND Ligamentoid fibromatosis is a rare borderline tumor that occurs in the muscles,fascia,and aponeurosis.It is a kind of soft tissue tumor of fibrous origin,also known as invasive fibromatosis,desmoid fibroma,neurofibromatosis,etc.The tumor is between benign and malignant tumors and rarely has distant metastasis.Its characteristics are mainly local invasion,destruction and growth and easy recurrence.The World Health Organization defines it as a fibroblast cloning value-added lesion originating from deep soft tissue,which causes local invasion and growth leading to tissue reconstruction,extrusion and destruction of important structures and organs.The incidence rate accounts for 0.03%of all tumors and less than 3%of all soft tissue tumors.Definite diagnosis mainly depends on postoperative pathology.Surgical resection is still the main way to treat the disease,and a variety of nonsurgical treatment methods are auxiliary.Combined treatment can effectively reduce the risk of postoperative recurrence.CASE SUMMARY The patient is a 57-year-old female.One week ago,she accidentally found a mass in the left upper abdomen while lying flat.There was no abdominal pain and abdominal distention,no fever,no black stool and blood in the stool and no nausea and vomiting.She had a 10-year history of glaucoma on the left side,underwent hysterectomy for uterine fibroids 5 years ago,had no hypertension,heart disease,diabetes,hepatitis or tuberculosis,had no history of smoking and had been drinking for 20 years.CONCLUSION Accurate preoperative diagnosis is difficult,surgical resection is the main treatment,and a variety of nonsurgical treatment methods are auxiliary.Combined treatment can effectively reduce the risk of postoperative recurrence.The prognosis is still good,and the risk of recurrence of secondary surgery is greatly increased.
文摘The internal seismic architectures of the Middle Miocene in Beikang Basin, southern South China Sea, were investigated and described using regional 2D seismic data from Guangzhou Marine Geology Survey. In particular, five typical seismic facies were identified based on an integrated analysis of the amplitude, continuity, contact relationship, and morphologies of seismic reflections. Bathyal-abyssal fine-grained sediments, deltaic front sandy bodies, turbidites, and small-scale turbidite channels were developed in the Middle Miocene according to the tectonic-sedimentary evolution of the sedimentary basins in the southern South China Sea. The findings of this study suggest that deltaic front sandy bodies and turbidites can be considered as the two major types of deep-water clastic reservoirs for the depression stage of Beikang Basin. A well-developed source-reservoir-cap assemblage was composed by deep rift-stage source rocks, deep-water clastic reservoirs of the Middle Miocene, and bathyal-abyssal deep-water fine-grained sediments after the Middle Miocene, implying a good potential for hydrocarbon exploration.

文摘Cell behavior is affected by nanostructured surface,but it remains unknown how ionizing radiation af-fects cells on nanostructured surface.This paper reports an experimental investigation of X-ray radiation induced damage of cells placed on an array of vertically aligned silicon nanowires.X-ray photoelectrons and secondary electrons produced from nanowire array are measured and compared to those from flat silicon substrate.The cell functions including morphology,viability,adhesion and proliferation have been examined and found to be drastically affected when cells are exposed to X-ray radiation,compared to those sitting on flat substrate and those only exposed to X-ray.The enhanced cell damage on nanowires upon X-ray exposure is attributed to nanowire enhanced production of photoelectrons including Auger electrons and secondary electrons,which have high escaping probability from sharp tips of nanowires.The escaped photoelectrons ionize water molecules and generate hydroxyl free radicals that can damage DNAs of cells.An inference of this work is that the contrast in scanning electron microscopy is useful in assessing the effects of nanomaterials for enhanced X-ray radiation therapy.

文摘Herein,a hot cracking initiation criterion based on the characteristics of solidification liquid film and the microstructure was proposed,which integrated both the mechanical and non-mechanical factors during solidification.The criterion also took the effect of the shrinkage volume of the solid-liquid two-phase in the mushy zone,the flow behavior of the liquid film and the microstructure on the feeding behavior into account.Meanwhile,the effect factors of hot cracking initiation such as alloy composition,microstructure,mold design and process condition were included in this criterion,and it could quantitatively calculate whether hot cracks occurred under a certain state or not during solidification.The criterion was utilized to predict whether hot cracks occurred in Al-4.0 wt%Cu alloy in different initial solidification states or not,which was consistent with the experimental results and verified its reliability.According to the criterion expression,Vfeeding*was related with five effect factors includingη,ΔP*,l*,r*and n,in which r*and n were in positive correlation with Vfeeding*whileη,ΔP*and l*were in negative correlation with that,which provided a good instructive significance for mold design,process optimization and composition and microstructure regulation of alloys and simultaneously further enriched the mechanism and influencing factors of hot cracking initiation.Furthermore,a multiscale simulation method for calculating the characteristic parameters of hot tearing behavior during solidification was also provided in this study.
