In response to the common problems in college English writing teaching,such as the separation of learning and application,students’low interest in writing,and difficulties in expression,this paper,based on the theore...In response to the common problems in college English writing teaching,such as the separation of learning and application,students’low interest in writing,and difficulties in expression,this paper,based on the theoretical framework of the production-oriented approach(POA)proposed by Professor Wen Qiufang,designed and implemented a set of IELTS writing teaching plan.This plan takes“motivating,enabling,and assessing”as the core teaching process,and selects typical IELTS argumentative essay topics(such as food diversity)to create real communication scenarios.In the motivating stage,diverse inputs are used to stimulate students’interest and expose their language weaknesses;in the enabling stage,language knowledge,viewpoint generation,and text structure are focused on for targeted input and training;in the assessing stage,a combination of teacher-student cooperation and peer evaluation is adopted to guide students to identify and correct deficiencies in language use.The research results show that the POA model can effectively enhance students’writing interest,active learning awareness,and writing ability,particularly in overcoming vocabulary poverty and material shortages,as well as improving language accuracy and expression richness.This provides an operational theoretical basis and practical path for improving the teaching effect of IELTS writing.展开更多

METHODS A retrospective study was conducted first and then a validation ...AIM To assess the diagnostic value of a laparoscopic finding of a hepatic subcapsular spider-like telangiectasis (HSST) sign in biliary atresia. METHODS A retrospective study was conducted first and then a validation set was used to investigate the value of an HSST sign in predicting biliary atresia (BA). In the retrospective study, laparoscopic images of the liver surface were reviewed in 126 patients with infantile cholestasis (72 BA patients and 54 non-BA cholestasis patients) and a control group of 38 patients with nonhepatic conditions. Analysis was first made by two observers separately and finally, a consensus conclusion was achieved. Then, the diagnostic value of the HSST sign was validated in an independent cohort including 45 BA and 45 non-BA patients. RESULTS In the retrospective investigation, an ampli.ed HSST sign was found in all BA patients, while we were unable to detect the HSST sign in 98.1% of the 54 non-BA patients. There was no HSST sign in any of the control subjects. In the first review, the sensitivity and specificity from one reviewer were 100% and 98.1%, respectively, and the results from the other reviewer were both 100%. The consensus sensitivity and specificity were 100% and 98.1%, respectively. The HSST sign was defined as being composed of several enlarged tortuous spider-like vascular plexuses with two to eight branches distributed on all over the liver surface, which presented as either a concentrated type or a dispersed type. In the independent validation group, the sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value and negative predictive value of the HSST sign were 100%, 97.8%, 97.8% and 100%, respectively. CONCLUSION The HSST sign is characteristic in BA, and laparoscopic exploration for the HSST sign is valuable in the diagnosis of BA.展开更多

In this paper, we review our recent work on linear all-optical signal processing applications using silicon MRRs as passive filters. We focus on applications such as modulation format conversion, differential phase-shift keying (DPSK) demodulation, modulation speed enhancement of directly modulated lasers (DMLs), and monocycle pulse generation. The possibility to implement polarization diversity circuits, which reduce the polarization dependence of standard silicon MRRs, is illustrated on the particular example of DPSK demodulation.展开更多

Anthracnose,caused by Colletotrichum camelliae,poses a significant threat to the yield and quality of Camellia oleifera.Mitophagy,a selective form of autophagy,is crucial in maintaining mitochondrial quality and intra...Anthracnose,caused by Colletotrichum camelliae,poses a significant threat to the yield and quality of Camellia oleifera.Mitophagy,a selective form of autophagy,is crucial in maintaining mitochondrial quality and intracellular homeostasis.To date,an optimized experimental system for studying mitophagy in C.camelliae has yet to be established,and the role of mitophagy in the pathogenesis of C.camelliae remains unclear.Here,we characterized the function of CaEch1,a homolog of Magnaporthe oryza MoEch1,in the anthracnose fungus C.camelliae.Our findings indicate that mitochondria-localized CaEch1,plays a vital role for mitophagy in C.camelliae.Also,the CaEch11-29-GFP could serve as a reliable marker for monitoring mitophagy in C.camelliae.Additionally,the knockout of CaECH1 resulted in defects in fungal growth,conidiation,and appressorium formation.Pathogenicity assays further revealed that knockout of CaECH1 significantly reduced the virulence of C.camelliae.In summary,our research underscores the importance of CaEch1 in growth,conidiation,appressorium formation,and virulence in C.camelliae.This suggests its potential as a marker for mitophagy and provides valuable insights for developing new fungicides targeting anthracnose.展开更多
