Photocatalysis using the abundant solar energy is an environmentally friendly and efficient way to degrade organic matter.Covalent triazine frameworks(CTFs),a new class of metal-free organic semiconductors responsive to visible light,are promising materials for water treatment.In this study,an original CTF,namely CTF-1,was modified by S-doping to form CTFSx,which were used as metal-free catalysts for degradation of methyl orange(MO)and bisphenol A(BPA).The outcomes demonstrated that the photocatalytic degradation of MO and BPA by CTFSxwas superior to that by CTF-1,with better stability and reusability.Within 6 h,53.2%MO and 84.7%BPA were degraded by CTFS5,and the degradation rate constants were 0.145 h-1and 0.29 h-1,respectively,which were 3.6 and 5.8 times higher than those of CTF-1.Further investigation revealed that enhanced visible light absorption,a reduced degree of free carrier recombination,rapid separation and transfer of photogenerated electrons and holes,and improved·OH oxidation capacity were important factors contributing to the significantly enhanced photocatalytic activity.The S-doping method effectively improved the light absorption performance,electronic structure,and modulation band structure of CTF-1.This work highlights the potential application of low-cost metal-free catalysts driven by visible light for the removal of organic pollutants from wastewater. 展开更多

Effect of the heat treatment, including solution treatment (ST) and aging treatment (AT), on the prior austenite grain (PAG) size, microstructure and mechanical properties of a precipitation hardening maraging stainless steel was investigated. The results indicate that the relations between PAG size and yield strength (σy) under both ST and AT conditions obey the HalI-Petch relationship. Furthermore, after ST at 1050℃ for 1 h+cryogenic treated (CT) at -70℃ for 8 h+AT at 535℃ for 4 h, the tested steel showed its ultimate tensile strength (σb) and σy over 1900 MPa and 1750 MPa, respectively. 展开更多

The 18%Ni alloy steels provide high strength and toughness, while age-hardenable or PH stainless steels also have good corrosion resistance. This paper focuses on an investigation of the heat treatment, mechanical properties and microstructural development of a new maraging stainless steel. It is reported that the heat treatment process should consist of solution treatment and cryogenic cooling to attain a fully martensitic structure, followed by aging at 813 K. This heat treatment resulted in an ultimate tensile strength of over 1900 MPa combined with good impact toughness. Transmission electron microscopy is used to show that, for the peak-aged condition (813 K/4 h), nano-sized precipitates, e.g. Ni3Mo and/or R-phase, and a high density of dislocations were uniformly dispersed in the lath martensite matrix. The calculated yield strength, based on a revised Orowan mechanism, is in good agreement with the test data. The steel studied has an ultimate tensile strength over 1900 MPa, excellent fracture toughness, and good resistance against over-aging and relatively good corrosion resistance as well. 展开更多

The hot deformation behavior of F6NM stainless steel was investigated by hot compression test in a Gleeble-1500D thermal-mechanical simulator. The flow strain-stress curves were obtained and the corresponding metallographic observation of this steel under different deformation conditions was also carried out. This steel exhibi- ted dynamic recrystallization (DRX) in the temperature range of 1 273- 1473 K and the strain rate range of 0.01- 0.1 s^-1. The activation energy for hot deformation was determined to be 457.91 kJ/mol, and the hot deformation equations were also established. The flow instability zone was determined and could be divided into two regions. The first one was located in the temperature range of 1 173- 1 348 K and the strain rate range of 0. 056-10 s^-1 , while the second one is in the temperature range of 1398-1448 K and the strain rate range of 1.25-10 s^-1. In the end, the optimum conditions for hot working were provided. 展开更多

Artificial neural networks(ANNs)have led to landmark changes in many fields,but they still differ significantly fromthemechanisms of real biological neural networks and face problems such as high computing costs,excessive computing power,and so on.Spiking neural networks(SNNs)provide a new approach combined with brain-like science to improve the computational energy efficiency,computational architecture,and biological credibility of current deep learning applications.In the early stage of development,its poor performance hindered the application of SNNs in real-world scenarios.In recent years,SNNs have made great progress in computational performance and practicability compared with the earlier research results,and are continuously producing significant results.Although there are already many pieces of literature on SNNs,there is still a lack of comprehensive review on SNNs from the perspective of improving performance and practicality as well as incorporating the latest research results.Starting from this issue,this paper elaborates on SNNs along the complete usage process of SNNs including network construction,data processing,model training,development,and deployment,aiming to provide more comprehensive and practical guidance to promote the development of SNNs.Therefore,the connotation and development status of SNNcomputing is reviewed systematically and comprehensively from four aspects:composition structure,data set,learning algorithm,software/hardware development platform.Then the development characteristics of SNNs in intelligent computing are summarized,the current challenges of SNNs are discussed and the future development directions are also prospected.Our research shows that in the fields of machine learning and intelligent computing,SNNs have comparable network scale and performance to ANNs and the ability to challenge large datasets and a variety of tasks.The advantages of SNNs over ANNs in terms of energy efficiency and spatial-temporal data processing have been more fully exploited.And the development of programming and deployment tools has lowered the threshold for the use of SNNs.SNNs show a broad development prospect for brain-like computing. 展开更多

The development of biochar has triggered a hot-spot in various research fields including agriculture,energy,environment,and materials.Biochar-based materials provide a novel approach against environmental challenging issues.Considering the rapid development of biochar materials,this review serves as a valuable platform to summarize the recent progress on the theoretical investigation and engineering applications of biochar materials in environmental remediation.For a better understanding of the structure-application relationships,the structural properties of biochar from macroscopic and microscopic aspects are summarized.The multilevel structures including elements,phases,surface chemistry,and molecular are highlighted to elucidate the multi-functional properties of biochars.Sorption,catalysis,redox reaction,and biological activity of biochar are briefly illustrated,which influence the transport,transformation,and removal of organic and inorganic pollutants in the environments.According to the multi-level structures and structure-application relationships of biochar,specific biochar-based materials and devices have been designed for practical environmental application.The important progress on the functionalization and device of biochar-based materials,including magnetic biochars,2D and 3D biochar-based macrostructures,immobilized microorganism on biochar,and biochar-amended biofilters are highlighted.The environmental friendliness and sustainability of biochar-based materials,considering the whole cycle from synthesis to application,are evaluated. 展开更多

Plastic pollution as a global environmental issue has become a research hotspot,among which the removal of inherent plasticizer(e.g.,phthalic acid esters,PAEs)received increasing attention.However,the effects of biochars derived from different feedstocks on the adsorption of PAEs are poorly understood.Thus,the characteristics of biochars derived from six largely produced biomass wastes in China at 400°C,as well as their performance in adsorption of diethyl phthalate(DEP),one of frequently detected PAEs in aqueous environment,were investigated.The results indicated that the variation in feedstock type showed significant changes in the properties(e.g.,porosity,specific surface area,surface functional groups)of biochars,which affected DEP adsorption and desorption.Pseudosecond order and Freundlich models fitted the adsorption data well,and adsorption mechanisms mainly included hydrophobic effect,followed by micropore filling,hydrogen bonding,andπ-πEDA interactions.Adsorption thermodynamics revealed that the adsorption was a spontaneous and exothermic the adsorption capacities of DEP on these biochars slightly decreased with the increasing pH but increased with the increasing ionic strength.Among these biochars,the giant reed biochar with relatively higher DEP adsorption and low desorption exhibited the great efficiency for DEP removal as an environment-friendly sorbent.These results highlighted the significant roles of micropore filling and hydrogen bond in determining adsorption capacity of designed biochars prepared from selecting suitable agricultural straws and wetland plant waste to typical plasticizer.The findings are useful for producing designed biochars from different biomass wastes for plasticizer pollution control. 展开更多
