Analysis of anxiety and depression status and related factors among mothers of children in neonatal intensive care unit 被引量:1

BACKGROUND Newborns are immediately admitted to the neonatal intensive care unit(NICU)after birth,and thus mothers suffer from the pain of mother-infant separation.Some mothers worry about alterations in their child’s condition and the uncertainty and high medical costs of possible sequelae,which frequently cause anxiety,depression,and other adverse emotions.AIM To investigate the anxiety and depression status of mothers of children in the NICU and its related factors.METHODS A convenient sampling method is adopted.The research objects included the mothers of 191 children in the NICU of Suzhou Ninth Hospital Affiliated with Suzhou University from January 2023 to July 2024.The general information questionnaire,personal control scale,self-rating anxiety scale,and self-rating depression scale were utilized for investigation.Anxiety and depression status in mothers of children in the NICU and its related factors were analyzed.RESULTS The incidences of maternal anxiety and depression among 191 hospitalized children in the NICU were 32.98%(63/191)and 23.56%(45/191),respectively.Single-factor analysis reveals that family monthly income,individual sense of control,gestational age of the child,and the number of diseases in the child are associated with the anxiety and depression experienced by the mother of the child in the NICU(P<0.05).Multivariate logistic regression analysis revealed that family monthly income of<5000 yuan(RMB),poor individual control,gestational age of<32 weeks,and the number of diseases of≥3 kinds are all related factors for anxiety and depression in mothers of children admitted to the NICU(P<0.05).CONCLUSION Mothers of children admitted to the NICU demonstrated high anxiety and depression incidences.The nursing staff in the neonatal department established intervention measures for each related factor,strengthened communication and communication with the mother of the child,and did a good job in psychological counseling. 展开更多

BACKGROUND Esophageal cancer surgery is associated with a high risk of postoperative pulmonary complications,particularly pneumonia.Although conventional respiratory rehabilitation strategies–such as preoperative inspiratory muscle training–have demonstrated limited efficacy,the low-intensity traditional Chinese Qigong practice"Liuzijue"(Six-Character Formula)shows promise.However,robust clinical evidence supporting its use in patients undergoing esophagectomy remains lacking.AIM To evaluate the effects of early postoperative"Liuzijue"training on pulmonary function and pneumonia incidence following radical esophagectomy.METHODS This retrospective study included 306 patients who underwent esophagectomy.The control group(n=163)received standard care,consisting of abdominal breathing,incentive spirometry,and early ambulation.The intervention group(n=143)received the same standard care plus twice-daily"Liuzijue"training for 14 days.Primary outcomes were the incidence of pneumonia(defined by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention criteria)and changes(Δ)in forced vital capacity(FVC),forced expiratory volume in 1 second(FEV_(1)),and maximum voluntary ventilation(MVV)from baseline to postoperative day 14.RESULTS The"Liuzijue"intervention was associated with a significantly lower incidence of pneumonia(11.9%vs 24.5%,P=0.005;relative risk=0.48).Significant improvements were observed inΔFVC(+502.1 mL vs+326.5 mL,P<0.001),ΔFEV_(1)(+701.7 mL vs+434.4 mL,P<0.001),andΔMVV(+19.4 L/minute vs+14.4 L/minute,P<0.001).Absolute FEV_(1) values on postoperative day 14 were higher in the intervention group(2270.8 mL vs 2066.1 mL,P=0.021),along with significantly lower Borg dyspnea/fatigue scores(P=0.045).No significant differences were observed in changes in diffusing capacity of the lung for carbon monoxide,total lung capacity,or 6-minute walk distance.CONCLUSION Early initiation of"Liuzijue"training after esophagectomy is associated with reduced pneumonia incidence and accelerated recovery of key pulmonary function parameters.These findings support the integration of"Liuzijue"into enhanced recovery after surgery protocols for esophageal cancer patients. 展开更多

Multiple types of stem cells have been proposed for the treatment of spinal cord injury,but their comparative information remains elusive.In this study,a rat model of T10 contusion spinal cord injury was established by the impactor method.Human umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stem cells(UCMSCs)or human adipose tissue-derived mesenchymal stem cells(ADMSCs)(2.5μL/injection site,1×10^5 cells/μL)was injected on rostral and caudal of the injury segment on the ninth day after injury.Rats injected with mesenchymal stem cell culture medium were used as controls.Our results show that although transplanted UCMSCs and ADMSCs failed to differentiate into neurons or glial cells in vivo,both significantly improved motor and sensory function.After spinal cord injury,UCMSCs and ADMSCs similarly promoted spinal neuron survival and axonal regeneration,decreased glial scar and lesion cavity formation,and reduced numbers of active macrophages.BioPlex analysis of spinal samples showed a specific increase of interleukin-10 and decrease of tumor necrosis factorαin the ADMSC group,as well as a downregulation of macrophage inflammatory protein 3αin both UCMSC and ADMSC groups at 3 days after cell transplantation.Upregulation of interleukin-10 and interleukin-13 was observed in both UCMSC and ADMSC groups at 7 days after cell transplantation.Isobaric tagging for relative and absolute quantitation proteomics analyses showed that UCMSCs and ADMSCs induced changes of multiple genes related to axonal regeneration,neurotrophy,and cell apoptosis in common and specific manners.In conclusion,UCMSC and ADMSC transplants yielded quite similar contributions to motor and sensory recovery after spinal cord injury via anti-inflammation and improved axonal growth.However,there were some differences in cytokine and gene expression induced by these two types of transplanted cells.Animal experiments were approved by the Laboratory Animal Ethics Committee at Jinan University(approval No.20180228026)on February 28,2018,and the application of human stem cells was approved by the Medical Ethics Committee of Medical College of Jinan University of China(approval No.2016041303)on April 13,2016. 展开更多

Rare earth (RE) metals are widely used as the alloying implants. However, corrosion behavior of pure RE elements in biodegradable magnesium alloys as medical metals not only in physiological media but also in chlorinated saline environment is not well understood. In the present work, the RE metals Y, Nd, Gd and Dy are selected to investigate their corrosion behavior in 0.1 mol/L NaCI solution with immersion and electrochemistry techniques. As indicated, corrosion of the currently investigated RE metals is promoted in the order of Dy, Y, Gd and Nd. In terms of electrochemical response, such a sequence correlates with the increased impedance and the decreased corrosion rate (CR). These RE metals manifest weak ability for passivation in the native surface. Then, reaction with aqueous solution easily happens through the anodic dissolution and cathodic hydrogen evolution. The corrosion products, RE(OH)3, adhered on the surface of RE metals, do not have an appreciable power to resist the reaction proceeding with corrosive chloride ions. In contrast to pure Mg, the RE metals, including Y, Nd, Gd and Dy, exhibit significantly fragile corrosion resistance in saline media. SHANK2 is a scaffold protein that serves as a protein anchor at the postsynaptic density in neurons.Genetic variants of SHANK2 are strongly associated with synaptic dysfunction and the pathophysiology of autism spectrum disorder.Recent studies indicate that early neuronal developmental defects play a role in the pathogenesis of autism spectrum disorder,and that insulin-like growth factor 1 has a positive effect on neurite development.To investigate the effects of SHANK2 knockdown on early neuronal development,we generated a sparse culture system using human induced pluripotent stem cells,which then differentiated into neural progenitor cells after 3–14 days in culture,and which were dissociated into single neurons.Neurons in the experimental group were infected with shSHANK2 lentivirus carrying a red fluorescent protein reporter(shSHANK2 group).Control neurons were infected with scrambled sh Control lentivirus carrying a red fluorescent protein reporter(sh Control group).Neuronal somata and neurites were reconstructed based on the lentiviral red fluorescent protein signal.Developmental dendritic and motility changes in VGLUT1^+glutamatergic neurons and TH+dopaminergic neurons were then evaluated in both groups.Compared with sh Control VGLUT1^+neurons,the dendritic length and arborizations of shSHANK2 VGLUT1^+neurons were shorter and fewer,while cell soma speed was higher.Furthermore,dendritic length and arborization were significantly increased after insulin-like growth factor 1 treatment of shSHANK2 neurons,while cell soma speed remained unaffected.These results suggest that insulin-like growth factor 1 can rescue morphological defects,but not the change in neuronal motility.Collectively,our findings demonstrate that SHANK2 deficiency perturbs early neuronal development,and that IGF1 can partially rescue the neuronal defects caused by SHANK2 knockdown.All experimental procedures and protocols were approved by the Laboratory Animal Ethics Committee of Jinan University,China(approval No.20170228010)on February 28,2017. 展开更多

BACKGROUND Radiation pneumonitis(RP)is a severe complication of thoracic radiotherapy that may lead to dyspnea and lung fibrosis,and negatively affects patients’quality of life.AIM To carry out multiple regression analysis on the influencing factors of radiation pneumonitis.METHODS Records of 234 patients receiving chest radiotherapy in Huzhou Central Hospital(Huzhou,Zhejiang Province,China)from January 2018 to February 2021,and the patients were divided into either a study group or a control group based on the presence of radiation pneumonitis or not.Among them,93 patients with radiation pneumonitis were included in the study group and 141 without radiation pneumonitis were included in the control group.General characteristics,and radiation and imaging examination data of the two groups were collected and compared.Due to the statistical significance observed,multiple regression analysis was performed on age,tumor type,chemotherapy history,forced vital capacity(FVC),forced expiratory volume in the first second(FEV1),carbon monoxide diffusion volume(DLCO),FEV1/FVC ratio,planned target area(PTV),mean lung dose(MLD),total number of radiation fields,percentage of lung tissue in total lung volume(vdose),probability of normal tissue complications(NTCP),and other factors.RESULTS The proportions of patients aged≥60 years and those with the diagnosis of lung cancer and a history of chemotherapy in the study group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05);FEV1,DLCO,and FEV1/FVC ratio in the study group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05),while PTV,MLD,total field number,vdose,and NTCP were higher than in the control group(P<0.05).Logistic regression analysis showed that age,lung cancer diagnosis,chemotherapy history,FEV1,FEV1/FVC ratio,PTV,MLD,total number of radiation fields,vdose,and NTCP were risk factors for radiation pneumonitis.CONCLUSION We have identified patient age,type of lung cancer,history of chemotherapy,lung function,and radiotherapy parameters as risk factors for radiation pneumonitis.Comprehensive evaluation and examination should be carried out before radiotherapy to effectively prevent radiation pneumonitis. 展开更多

Caused by the mutation of methyl-CpG binding protein 2(MeCP2),Rett syndrome leads to a battery of severe neural dysfunctions including the regression of motor coordination and motor learning.Current understanding has revealed the motor cortex as the critical region mediating voluntary movement.In this review article,we will summarize major findings from human patients and animal models regarding the cortical synaptic plasticity under the regulation of MeCP2.We will also discuss how mutation of MeCP2 leads to the disruption of cortical circuitry homeostasis to cause motor deficits.Lastly,potential values of physical exercise and neuromodulation approaches to recover neural plasticity and motor function will be evaluated.All of this evidence may help to accelerate timely diagnosis and effective interventions for Rett syndrome patients. 展开更多

Ball bearing is widely used as rotor supporting.It is a non-negligible source of vibration in aero-engines.The vibration characteristics of the highspeed ball bearing are studied in this paper.Bearing kinematics theory is applied to discuss the basic characteristics of ball bearings.The vibration factors caused by ball bearings are analyzed,and then the vibration model of ball bearings is set up.The effect of the unbalance,the ball passage vibration,the radial clearance and the surface waviness are considered.It is found that the ball passage vibration is excited by the contact force between the balls and the races.Increasing the numbers of ball can reduce the vibration amplitude.The surface waviness which is caused due to the geometric imperfection of ball bearings is considered as one of the important vibration sources of bearing systems. 展开更多

Converting tropical rainforest to native rubber plantations alters soil bacterial and fungal communities

Driven by soil biochemistry and plant community composition,soil microbial communities reflect land management and environmental conditions.To evaluate the effects of land-use change on soil microbial diversity,we used denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis(DGGE)combined with sequencing to compare bacterial and fungal community profiles between rubber plantation(RP)and nearby seasonal rainforests(SR).Rainforest soil generally had higher soil total C and microbial biomass C concentration,smaller soil aggregate proportions,and a soil pH below rubber plantation soil.The bacterial and fungal richness and diversity were similar after converting primary forests to rubber plantations.However,the composition of bacterial and fungal communities has significantly changed in rubber plantations.Basidiomycota,the predominant group of fungi,was significantly different between primary forests and rubber plantations.However,Basidiomycota showed higher heterogenetic distribution in the rainforest under rubber plantations.In conclusion,land-use changes mainly affect soil microbial community composition and heterogeneity distribution patterns,especially for saprotrophic fungi,which consist of changes in litter inputs and soil C conditions. 展开更多

In forest ecosystems,plant communities shape soil fungal communities through the provisioning of carbon.Although the variation in forest composition with latitude is well established,little is known about how soil fungal communities vary with latitude.We collected soil samples from 17 forests,along a latitudinal transect in western China.Forest types covered included boreal,temperate,subtropical and tropical forests.We used 454 pyrosequencing techniques to analyze the soil communities.These data were correlated with abiotic and biotic variables to determine which factors most strongly influenced fungal community composition.Our results indicated that temperature,latitude,and plant diversity most strongly influence soil fungal community composition.Fungal diversity patterns were unimodal,with temperate forests(mid latitude)exhibiting the greatest diversity.Furthermore,these diversity patterns indicate that fungal diversity was highest in the forest systems with the lowest tree diversity(temperate forests).Different forest systems were dominated by different fungal subgroups,ectomycorrhizal fungi dominated in boreal and temperate forests;endomycorrhizal fungi dominated in the tropical rainforests,and non-mycorrhizal fungi were best represented in subtropical forests.Our results suggest that soil fungal communities are strongly dependent on vegetation type,with fungal diversity displaying an inverse relationship to plant diversity. 展开更多
