The resulting polymers with optically active properties were obtained by polymerization of the racemic isocyanide monomer (rac-1), and enantiomerically unbalanced polymerization of the monomer was found, providing substantial evidence for the enantiomer-selective polymerization of rac- 1 mediated through chiral catalyst. A comparison between the enantiomerically pure monomers, 4-isocyanobenzoyl-L-alanine decyl ester (1 s) and 4-isocyanobenzoyl-D-alanine decyl ester (1 r), revealed a drastic discrepancy in the reactivity ratio of their homopolymerizations. It turned out that the monomer reactivity ratio of ls was higher than that of lr with chiral ligands. The results clearly demonstrated the inclination for incorporation of the ls enantiomer during the polymerization process and thus resulted in the enantiomer-selective polymerization in this system. The effects of the catalyst chirality on the optically active properties of polymerization were investigated, and it was concluded that the formation of higher-ordered conformation with a handed helicity might be attributed to the chiral induction of chiral palladium(II) catalyst. Moreover, the polymers obtained through the enantiomer-selective polymerization of the enantiomerically pure monomer were with a significant improvement of the optical activity if the chirality of the monomer and the catalyst matched with each other.展开更多

Polymerization of these monomers using a alkyne-Pd(II) complex as a catalyst led to the...Three novel enantiopure phenyl isocyanide monomers with BH3-protected phosphine functional group were designed and synthesized. Polymerization of these monomers using a alkyne-Pd(II) complex as a catalyst led to the formation of respective helical polyisocyanides in high yields with controlled molecular weights(Mns) and narrow molecular weight distributions(Mw/Mns). Removing the protecting BH3 groups afforded helical poly(phenyl isocyanide)s bearing phosphine pendants. Thanks to the chiral induction of monomer, the isolated helical polyisocyanides showed high optical activity, as revealed by circular dichroism(CD) and absorption spectroscopies and polarimetry. The helical structures of these polymers were quite stable in various organic solvents with different polarities and in a wide temperature range. Moreover, these helical polymers could be used as organocatalysts and showed good performance in enantioselective cross Rauhut-Currier reaction. The enantiomeric excess(ee) values of the isolated products of cross Rauhut-Currier reaction could be up to 90%. The polymer organocatalysts could be easily recovered from the reaction mixtures and reused at least five times in the reaction without significant loss of their enantioselectivities and catalytic activities.展开更多

A strain with nitrite degrading capacity was isolated from the sludge of a shrimp-farming pond in Hepu City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The isolated strain was identified based on colonial morphology, physiological and biochemical characteristics, and 16S rRNA sequence. Results showed that the strain could grow well on the culture medium containing 2.3 g/L nitrite. According to the morphological characteristics, nitrogen source requirements and evolutionary tree of the 16S rRNA sequence, the isolated strain was identified as Acinetobacter radioresistens, which was named HPAR132 strain. This study laid the foundation for further investigation of nitrite-oxidizing bacterium HPAR132.展开更多
Purpose:Ocular trauma occurs disproportionately in children on an annual basis.However,because of this frequency,other diagnoses,.such as orbital neoplasms,.can easily be ignored.Methods:We report on a two-year-old bo...Purpose:Ocular trauma occurs disproportionately in children on an annual basis.However,because of this frequency,other diagnoses,.such as orbital neoplasms,.can easily be ignored.Methods:We report on a two-year-old boy who presented with a dark purple,irregularly shaped lesion on his lower left eyelid.The patient had suffered injuries twice to that area.Results:Axial computed tomography images demonstrated an ill-defined and inhomogeneous soft tissue mass in the lateral and posterior region of the left orbit,.with bony destruction and absorption of the adjacent orbital wall..Magnetic resonance imaging of the orbit showed a lesion involving the greater sphenoidal wing,the supraorbital wall,and the frontal area.Enlarged nuchal and inguinal lymph nodes were detected by sonographic examination.Histopathological examination of a surgical biopsy showed an accumulation of characteristic Langerhans cells.The diagnosis of Langerhans cell histiocytosis was confirmed by immunohistochemical examinations positive for CD1a and SP-100.Conclusion:Orbital Langerhans cell histiocytosis is rarely encountered in ophthalmic practice,.so the ophthalmologist needs to be familiar with its presentation and work-up,.and has to be aware of possible OLCH diagnosis when a child(or even an adult)presents with prolonged and persistent eyelid edema,.even with a history of ocular trauma.展开更多

METHODS: The subfoveal choroidal thickness was measured with enhanced dept...AIM: To investigate the relationship between choroidal thickness and anterior chamber segment in subjects with eyes with narrow or open-angle. METHODS: The subfoveal choroidal thickness was measured with enhanced depth -imaging optical coherence tomography and anterior chamber parameters were measured with ultrasound biomicroscopy in one eye of 23 subjects with open-angle eyes and 38 subjects with narrow-angle eyes. The mean age was 59.52 +/- 7.04y for narrow-angle subjects and 60.76 +/- 7.23y for open angle subjects (P=0.514). Multivariate linear regression analysis was performed to assess the association between choroidal thickness and narrow -angle parameters. RESULTS: There were no differences in subfoveal choroidal thickness between open - and narrow-angle subjects (P=0.231). Anterior chamber parameters, including central anterior chamber depth, trabecular iris angle, iris thickness 500 mu m from the scleral spur (IT500), and ciliary body thickness at 1 mm and 2 mm from the sclera! spur (CBT1, CBT2) showed significant differences between the two groups (P<0.05). Subfoveal choroidal thickness showed negative correlation (beta=-0.496, P=0.016) only with anterior chamber depth in the open angle group and with age (beta=-0.442, P=0.003) and 11500 (beta=-0.399, P=0.008) in the narrow-angle group. However, subfoveal choroidal thickness was not correlated with trabecular iris angle, anterior chamber depth, ciliary body thickness, or central corneal thickness in the narrow-angle group. CONCLUSION: Choroidal thickness does not differ in the two groups and has not correlated with anterior chamber parameters in narrow-angle subjects, suggesting a lack of relationship between choroidal thickness and primary angle-closure glaucoma.展开更多

After 2 d of culture, the average diameter of hydrolytic circles on CMC-Congo red medium was 26 -30 mm. Single colonies on LB plates were white and wrinkled. The isolated strain was identified as a Gram-negative bacterium by Gram staining, which could produce short red-like spores. Colony PCR was performed using the bacterial 16S rDNA universal primers. A 1 429 kb DNA fragment was amplified. Based on sequence homology analysis and comprehensive analysis, the isolated strain was identified as Bacillus velezensi, which was named CDBV62 according to the origin.展开更多

Since the temperature of aluminum alloy work-pieces cannot be measured directly, a temperature prediction model based on improved case-based reasoning (CBR) method is established to realize the online measurement of the work-pieces temperature. More specifically, the model is constructed by an advanced case-based reasoning method in which a state transition algorithm (STA) is firstly used to optimize the weights of feature attributes. In other words, STA is utilized to find the suitable attribute weights of the CBR model that can improve the accuracy of the case retrieval process. Finally, the CBR model based on STA (STCBR) was applied to predict the temperature of aluminum alloy work-pieces in the aging furnace. The results of the experiments indicated that the developed model can realize high-accuracy prediction of work-pieces temperature and it has good application prospects in the industrial field.展开更多
Objective:To explore the effect of 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 on the mast cell tryptase(MCT) in asthmatic guinea pigs.Methods:A total of 60 male or female healthy guinea pigs were randomly divided into control group(gro...Objective:To explore the effect of 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 on the mast cell tryptase(MCT) in asthmatic guinea pigs.Methods:A total of 60 male or female healthy guinea pigs were randomly divided into control group(group A),asthmatic group(group B).and 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 group(group C),with 20 cases in each group.To establish asthmatic guinea pig models,1ml peanut oil was tilled into stomach in the morning in group A and group B.and 1 ml peanut oil with 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 was filled into stomach in group C.Airway resistance(Re) of asthmatic guinea pigs was detected,and the bronchoalveolar lavage fluid(BALF) cells were counted.Lung tissue with HE and MCT immunohistochemical staining were used to observe the pathological changes in lung tissue and the distribution of MCT.Results:After injection of different concentration of acetylcholine chloride,the Re in group B and group C were increased significantly compared with group A(P<0.05):compared with group B.the Re in group C were decreased significantly(t=-5.385.-5.761.-6.184.-13.574.P<0.05):the total number of BALF cells and eosinophils were increased significantly in group B and C(t=19.618.9.598.10.854.5.388.P<0.05);compared with group B.the total number of BALF cells and eosinophils in group C was decreased significantly(t=-5.555.-5.392.P<0.05):the number of tryptase positive cells in group B was increased significantly than that in group A(t=21.312,P<0.05),and in addition to the alveolar septum and submucosa,the cells were also distributed around blood vessels and outside the cells:the number of tryptase positive cells in group C was decreased significantly compared with group B.and the difference was statistically significant(t=5.043.P<0.05).Conclusions:After the asthmatic guinea pigs arc treated with 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3,their BALF.Re.infiltration degree of inflammatory cells in the trachea and lung tissue and airway inflammatory reaction are reduced significantly.1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 has a certain inhibiting effect on the activation of mast cells and the release of MCT granules.展开更多
BACKGROUND Although tumors of the lacrimal sac are rare,they represent a potentially lifethreatening situation that can easily be overlooked since patients present with features consistent with chronic dacryocystitis....BACKGROUND Although tumors of the lacrimal sac are rare,they represent a potentially lifethreatening situation that can easily be overlooked since patients present with features consistent with chronic dacryocystitis.Lacrimal sac squamous cell carcinoma is the most common lacrimal sac malignancy,but no definitive treatment is currently available.CASE SUMMARY We describe a 34-year-old unmarried male who presented with a red and swollen right lower eyelid,which gradually developed into a mass of the lower eyelid that obstructed vision in his right eye.He was treated with transcatheter arterial infusion chemotherapy and interventional embolization based on the tumor characteristics,and we also administered intensity-modulated radiotherapy and targeted therapy after tumor shrinkage.The tumor treatment demonstrated good efficacy,and the patient’s condition was stable after 10 mo of follow-up.CONCLUSION To our knowledge,this is the first report of lacrimal sac squamous cell carcinoma treated with transcatheter arterial infusion chemotherapy and interventional embolization,which might expand clinical treatment options for lacrimal sac carcinoma.展开更多

Epitranscriptomic chemical modifications of RNAs have emerged as potent regulatory mechanisms in the process of plant stress adaptation.Currently,over 170 distinct chemical modifications have been identified in mRNAs,...Epitranscriptomic chemical modifications of RNAs have emerged as potent regulatory mechanisms in the process of plant stress adaptation.Currently,over 170 distinct chemical modifications have been identified in mRNAs,tRNAs,rRNAs,microRNAs(miRNAs),and long noncoding RNAs(lncRNAs).Genetic and molec-ular studies have identified the genes responsible for addition and removal of chemical modifications from RNA molecules,which are known as"writers"and"erasers,"respectively.N^(6)-methyladenosine(m^(6)A)is the most prevalent chemical modification identified in eukaryotic mRNAs.Recent studies have identified m6 A writers and erasers across different plant species,including Arabidopsis(Arabidopsis thaliana),rice(Oryza sativa),cotton(Gossypium hirsutum),and tomato(Solanum lycopersicum).Accumulating discoveries have improved our understanding of the functions of RNA modifications in plant stress responses.This review highlights the latest research on RNA modification,emphasizing the biological and cellular roles of diverse chemical modifications of mRNAs,tRNAs,rRNAs,miRNAs,and lncRNAs in plant responses to environ-mental and hormonal signals.We also propose and discuss critical questions and future challenges for enhancing our understanding of the cellular and mechanistic roles of RNA modifications in plant stress re-sponses.Integrating molecular insights into the regulatory roles of RNA modifications in stress responses with novel genome-and RNA-editing technologies will facilitate the breeding of stress-tolerant crops through precise engineering of RNA modifications.展开更多

文摘Objective:To explore the effect of 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 on the mast cell tryptase(MCT) in asthmatic guinea pigs.Methods:A total of 60 male or female healthy guinea pigs were randomly divided into control group(group A),asthmatic group(group B).and 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 group(group C),with 20 cases in each group.To establish asthmatic guinea pig models,1ml peanut oil was tilled into stomach in the morning in group A and group B.and 1 ml peanut oil with 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 was filled into stomach in group C.Airway resistance(Re) of asthmatic guinea pigs was detected,and the bronchoalveolar lavage fluid(BALF) cells were counted.Lung tissue with HE and MCT immunohistochemical staining were used to observe the pathological changes in lung tissue and the distribution of MCT.Results:After injection of different concentration of acetylcholine chloride,the Re in group B and group C were increased significantly compared with group A(P<0.05):compared with group B.the Re in group C were decreased significantly(t=-5.385.-5.761.-6.184.-13.574.P<0.05):the total number of BALF cells and eosinophils were increased significantly in group B and C(t=19.618.9.598.10.854.5.388.P<0.05);compared with group B.the total number of BALF cells and eosinophils in group C was decreased significantly(t=-5.555.-5.392.P<0.05):the number of tryptase positive cells in group B was increased significantly than that in group A(t=21.312,P<0.05),and in addition to the alveolar septum and submucosa,the cells were also distributed around blood vessels and outside the cells:the number of tryptase positive cells in group C was decreased significantly compared with group B.and the difference was statistically significant(t=5.043.P<0.05).Conclusions:After the asthmatic guinea pigs arc treated with 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3,their BALF.Re.infiltration degree of inflammatory cells in the trachea and lung tissue and airway inflammatory reaction are reduced significantly.1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 has a certain inhibiting effect on the activation of mast cells and the release of MCT granules.

文摘BACKGROUND Although tumors of the lacrimal sac are rare,they represent a potentially lifethreatening situation that can easily be overlooked since patients present with features consistent with chronic dacryocystitis.Lacrimal sac squamous cell carcinoma is the most common lacrimal sac malignancy,but no definitive treatment is currently available.CASE SUMMARY We describe a 34-year-old unmarried male who presented with a red and swollen right lower eyelid,which gradually developed into a mass of the lower eyelid that obstructed vision in his right eye.He was treated with transcatheter arterial infusion chemotherapy and interventional embolization based on the tumor characteristics,and we also administered intensity-modulated radiotherapy and targeted therapy after tumor shrinkage.The tumor treatment demonstrated good efficacy,and the patient’s condition was stable after 10 mo of follow-up.CONCLUSION To our knowledge,this is the first report of lacrimal sac squamous cell carcinoma treated with transcatheter arterial infusion chemotherapy and interventional embolization,which might expand clinical treatment options for lacrimal sac carcinoma.

文摘Epitranscriptomic chemical modifications of RNAs have emerged as potent regulatory mechanisms in the process of plant stress adaptation.Currently,over 170 distinct chemical modifications have been identified in mRNAs,tRNAs,rRNAs,microRNAs(miRNAs),and long noncoding RNAs(lncRNAs).Genetic and molec-ular studies have identified the genes responsible for addition and removal of chemical modifications from RNA molecules,which are known as"writers"and"erasers,"respectively.N^(6)-methyladenosine(m^(6)A)is the most prevalent chemical modification identified in eukaryotic mRNAs.Recent studies have identified m6 A writers and erasers across different plant species,including Arabidopsis(Arabidopsis thaliana),rice(Oryza sativa),cotton(Gossypium hirsutum),and tomato(Solanum lycopersicum).Accumulating discoveries have improved our understanding of the functions of RNA modifications in plant stress responses.This review highlights the latest research on RNA modification,emphasizing the biological and cellular roles of diverse chemical modifications of mRNAs,tRNAs,rRNAs,miRNAs,and lncRNAs in plant responses to environ-mental and hormonal signals.We also propose and discuss critical questions and future challenges for enhancing our understanding of the cellular and mechanistic roles of RNA modifications in plant stress re-sponses.Integrating molecular insights into the regulatory roles of RNA modifications in stress responses with novel genome-and RNA-editing technologies will facilitate the breeding of stress-tolerant crops through precise engineering of RNA modifications.
