BACKGROUND The annual incidence of metabolic-associated fatty liver disease(MAFLD)in China has been increasing and is often overlooked owing to its insidious charac-teristics.Approximately 50%of the patients have a no...BACKGROUND The annual incidence of metabolic-associated fatty liver disease(MAFLD)in China has been increasing and is often overlooked owing to its insidious charac-teristics.Approximately 50%of the patients have a normal weight or are not obese.They are said to have lean-type MAFLD,and few studies of such patients are available.Because MAFLD is associated with abnormal lipid metabolism,lipid-targeted metabolomics was used in this study to provide experimental evidence for early diagnosis and pathogenesis.MAFLD and analyze metabolic pathways.UPLC-Q-Orbitrap/MS content determination was used to determine serum palmitic acid(PA),oleic acid(OA),linoleic acid(LA),and arachidonic acid(AA)levels in lean-type MAFLD patients.RESULTS Urea nitrogen and uric acid levels were higher in lean-type MAFLD patients than in healthy individuals(P<0.05).Alanine transaminase and cholinesterase levels were higher in lean-type MAFLD patients than in healthy indi-viduals(P<0.01).The expression of high-density lipoprotein and apolipoprotein A-1 were lower in lean-type MAFLD patients than in healthy individuals(P<0.05)and the expression of triglycerides and fasting blood glucose were increased(P<0.01).A total of 65 biomarkers that affected the synthesis and metabolism of fatty acids were found with P<0.05 and variable importance in projection>1.The levels of PA,OA,LA,and AA were significantly increased compared with healthy individuals.CONCLUSION The metabolic profiles of lean-type MAFLD patients and healthy participants differed significantly,yielding 65 identified biomarkers.PA,OA,LA,and AA exhibited the most significant changes,offering valuable clinical guidance for prevention and treatment of lean-type MAFLD.展开更多
BACKGROUND Human immunodeficiency virus(HIV)-associated dementia(HAD)is a subcortical form of dementia characterized by memory deficits and psychomotor slowing.However,HAD often presents with symptoms similar to those...BACKGROUND Human immunodeficiency virus(HIV)-associated dementia(HAD)is a subcortical form of dementia characterized by memory deficits and psychomotor slowing.However,HAD often presents with symptoms similar to those of Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease(CJD),particularly in patients with acquired immune deficiency syndrome(AIDS).CASE SUMMARY We report the case of a 54-year-old male who exhibited cognitive dysfunction and secondary behavioral changes following HIV infection and suspected prion exposure.The patient was diagnosed with HIV during hospitalization and his cerebrospinal fluid tested positive for 14-3-3 proteins.His electroencephalogram showed a borderline-abnormal periodic triphasic wave pattern.Contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging revealed moderate encephalatrophy and demyelination.Initially,symptomatic treatment and administration of amantadine were pursued for presumed CJD,but the patient’s condition continued to deteriorate.By contrast,the patient’s condition improved following anti-HIV therapy.This individual is also the only patient with this prognosis to have survived over 4 years.Thus,the diagnosis was revised to HAD.CONCLUSION In the diagnostic process of rapidly progressive dementia,it is crucial to rule out as many potential causes as possible and to consider an autopsy to diminish diagnostic uncertainty.The 14-3-3 protein should not be regarded as the definitive marker for CJD.Comprehensive laboratory screening for infectious diseases is essential to enhance diagnostic precision,especially in AIDS patients with potential CJD.Ultimately,a trial of diagnostic treatment may be considered when additional testing is not feasible.展开更多
BACKGROUND The treatment of difficult common bile duct stones(CBDS)remains a big challenge around the world.Biliary stenting is a widely accepted rescue method in patients with failed stone extraction under endoscopic...BACKGROUND The treatment of difficult common bile duct stones(CBDS)remains a big challenge around the world.Biliary stenting is a widely accepted rescue method in patients with failed stone extraction under endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography.Fully covered self-expanding metal stent(FCSEMS)has gained increasing attention in the management of difficult CBDS.AIM To manufacture a drug-eluting FCSEMS,which can achieve controlled release of stone-dissolving agents and speed up the dissolution of CBDS.METHODS Customized covered nitinol stents were adopted.Sodium cholate(SC)and disodium ethylene diamine tetraacetic acid(EDTA disodium,EDTA for short)were used as stone-dissolving agents.Three different types of drug-eluting stents were manufactured by dip coating(Stent I),coaxial electrospinning(Stent II),and dip coating combined with electrospinning(Stent III),respectively.The drugrelease behavior and stone-dissolving efficacy of these stents were evaluated in vitro to sort out the best manufacturing method.And the selected stonedissolving stents were further put into porcine CBD to evaluate their biosecurity.RESULTS Stent I and Stent II had obvious burst release of drugs in the first 5 d while Stent III presented controlled and sustainable drug release for 30 d.In still buffer,the final stone mass-loss rate of each group was 5.19%±0.69%for naked FCSEMS,20.37%±2.13%for Stent I,24.57%±1.45%for Stent II,and 33.72%±0.67%for Stent III.In flowing bile,the final stone mass-loss rate of each group was 5.87%±0.25%for naked FCSEMS,6.36%±0.48%for Stent I,6.38%±0.37%for Stent II,and 8.15%±0.27%for Stent III.Stent III caused the most stone mass-loss no matter in still buffer or in flowing bile,which was significantly higher than those of other groups(P<0.05).In vivo,Stent III made no difference from naked FCSEMS in serological analysis(P>0.05)and histopathological examination(P>0.05).CONCLUSION The novel SC and EDTA-eluting FCSEMS is efficient in diminishing CBDS in vitro.When conventional endoscopic techniques fail to remove difficult CBDS,SC and EDTA-eluting FCSEMS implantation may be considered a promising alternative.展开更多

METHODS: ILK small interfering RNA (siRNA) was transfected into human gastric cancer BGC-823 cells and ILK expression was monitored by real-time quan- titative polymerase chain reaction, Western blotting analysis and immunocytochemistry. Cell attachment, proliferation, invasion, microfilament dynamics and the secretion of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) were also measured. Gastric cancer cells treated with ILK siRNA were subcutaneously transplanted into nude mice and tumor growth was assessed. RESULTS: Both ILK mRNA and protein levels were significantly down-regulated by ILK siRNA in human gastric cancer cells. This significantly inhibited cell attachment, proliferation and invasion. The knockdown of ILK also disturbed F-actin assembly and reduced VEGF secretion in conditioned medium by 40% (P 〈 0.05). Four weeks after injection of ILK siRNA-transfected gastric cancer cells into nude mice, tumor volume and weight were significantly reduced compared with that of tumors induced by cells treated with non-silencing siRNA or by untreated cells (P 〈 0.05). CONCLUSION: Targeting ILK with siRNA suppresses the growth of gastric cancer cells both in v/tro and /n vivo. ILK plays an important role in gastric cancer progression.展开更多
During continuous extrusion,the welds were formed at the confluence of two billets.Influences of extrusion wheel rotational speed on micromorphology and properties of welds of 6063 Al alloy were investigated through m...During continuous extrusion,the welds were formed at the confluence of two billets.Influences of extrusion wheel rotational speed on micromorphology and properties of welds of 6063 Al alloy were investigated through microstructure observation,tensile test,and SEM analyses.Welding parameters were analyzed using finite element simulation.Results indicated that metal welding was remarkably affected by oxide on outer surface of the double billets during continuous extrusion.Degree of oxide breakage on the welding surface increased due to the evident increase in effective strain rate with increasing extrusion speed.The high temperature induced by increased extrusion speed accelerated the formation of metallurgical bonding.A portion of weld seam lines slowly disappeared,and the proportion of the welding interface that failed to reach metallurgical bonding was also gradually reduced.Tensile strength and elongation of the weld specimen increased with the increase of extrusion speed.展开更多

Shear strain and equivalent strain distributions along the thickness of the rolled sheets were calculated experimentally using embedded pin in a rolling sheet. Rolling microstructures and textures in the sheet surface and center layers of the AZ31 alloys were measured by optical microscopy(OM), X-ray diffractometry(XRD) and electron back scatter diffraction(EBSD). Effects of the rolling strain, dynamic recrystallization(DRX) and twinning on the texture evolution of the AZ31 alloys were investigated quantitatively. It is found that the highest(0002) basal texture intensities are obtained at a starting rolling temperature of 400 ℃ under the same strain. Strain–temperature dependency of the(0002) texture intensity of the AZ31 alloy is derived.展开更多

AIM:To investigate the activity of vesicular glutamate transporter-3(VGLUT3) in a visceral hyperalgesia rat model of irritable bowel syndrome,and the role of mast cells(MCs).METHODS:Transient intestinal infection was ...AIM:To investigate the activity of vesicular glutamate transporter-3(VGLUT3) in a visceral hyperalgesia rat model of irritable bowel syndrome,and the role of mast cells(MCs).METHODS:Transient intestinal infection was inducedby oral administration of Trichinella spiralis larvae in rats.On the 100th day post-infection(PI),the rats were divided into an acute cold restraint stress(ACRS)group and a non-stressed group.Age-matched untreated rats served as controls.The abdominal withdrawal reflex was used to measure the visceromotor response to colorectal distension(CRD).The expression levels of VGLUT3 in peripheral and central neurons were analyzed by immunofluorescence and western blotting.RESULTS:VGLUT3 expression in the L6S1 dorsal root ganglion cells was significantly higher in the PI group than in the control group(0.32±0.009 vs0.22±0.008,P<0.01),and there was no significant difference in the expression of VGLUT3 between MCdeficient rats and their normal wild-type littermates.Immunofluorescence showed that the expression levels of VGLUT3 in PI+ACRS rats were enhanced in the prefrontal cortex of the brain compared with the control group.CONCLUSION:VGLUT3 is involved in the pathogenesis of visceral hyperalgesia.Coexpression of c-fos,5-hydroxytryptamine and VGLUT3 after CRD was observed in associated neuronal pathways.Increased VGLUT3 induced by transient intestinal infection was found in peripheral nerves,and was independent of MCs.Moreover,the expression of VGLUT3 was enhanced in the prefrontal cortex in rats with induced infection and stress.展开更多
The Ti-35Nb-2Zr-0.3O(mass fraction,%)alloy was melted under a high-purity argon atmosphere in a high vacuumnon-consumable arc melting furnace,followed by cold deformation.The effects of cold deformation process on mic...The Ti-35Nb-2Zr-0.3O(mass fraction,%)alloy was melted under a high-purity argon atmosphere in a high vacuumnon-consumable arc melting furnace,followed by cold deformation.The effects of cold deformation process on microstructure andmechanical properties were investigated using the OM,XRD,TEM,Vicker hardness tester and universal material testing machine.Results indicated that the alloy showed multiple plastic deformation mechanisms,including stress-inducedα'martensite(SIMα')transformation,dislocation slipping and deformation twins.With the increase of cold deformation reduction,the tensile strength andhardness increased owing to the increase of dislocation density and grain refinement,and the elastic modulus slightly increasedowing to the increase of SIMα'phase.The90%cold deformed alloy exhibited a great potential to become a new candidate forbiomedical applications since it possessed low elastic modulus(56.2GPa),high tensile strength(1260MPa)and highstrength-to-modulus ratio(22.4×10-3),which are superior than those of Ti-6Al-4V alloy.展开更多
AIM:To investigate changes of choroidal thickness(ChT) in children with myopia and the effect of current myopia control interventions on ChT.METHODS:Major literature databases were searched for studies relevant to myo...AIM:To investigate changes of choroidal thickness(ChT) in children with myopia and the effect of current myopia control interventions on ChT.METHODS:Major literature databases were searched for studies relevant to myopia in children.All studies used swept-source optical coherence tomography(SS-OCT) or enhanced depth imaging optical coherence tomography(EDI-OCT) to measure the ChT value.The weighted mean difference(WMD) and 95% confidence interval(CI) were pooled to evaluate ChT in myopia children.RESULTS:A total of 11 eligible articles,including 1693 myopic and 1132 non-myopic eyes,were included in the first Meta-analysis.The sub-foveal choroidal thickness(SFCT;WMD=-40.06,95%CI,-59.36 to-20.75,P<0.001) and ChT at other sectors were significantly thinner in myopic eyes compared with the non-myopic eyes.The Meta-analysis revealed that the ChT decreased horizontally from the temporal sector toward the nasal sector in the pediatric myopia population.Another 11 studies reporting the effect of myopia control interventions were included in the second Meta-analysis for the relationship between myopia control treatments and ChT.SFCT significantly increased after orthokeratology(OK) treatment and OK combined with 0.01% atropine(OKA) treatment(WMD=19.47,95%CI,15.96 to 22.98,P<0.001;WMD=21.81,95%CI,12.92 to 29.70,P<0.001,respectively).The forest plots showed that SFCT changed little in myopic children receiving 0.01% atropine(P=0.30).Furthermore,the Meta-analysis showed that OK treatment had a stronger effect on the value of SFCT in myopic children as compared with 0.01% atropine(WMD=9.86;95%CI,-0.21 to 19.93,P=0.05).There is no difference between the treatment with OK and OKA treatment in ChT in myopic children(P=0.37).CONCLUSION:The ChT in myopic eyes is thinner than that in non-myopic eyes in pediatric population.Myopia control interventions including OK and OKA lead to ChT thickening,but other treatments such as 0.01% atropine did not show an increase in ChT.展开更多
Plane wave generators(PWGs) are used to accelerate flyer plates to high velocities with their generated plane waves,which are widely used in the test of dynamic properties of materials.The traditional PWG is composed ...Plane wave generators(PWGs) are used to accelerate flyer plates to high velocities with their generated plane waves,which are widely used in the test of dynamic properties of materials.The traditional PWG is composed of two explosives with different detonation velocities.It is difficult to implement the related fabrication processes and control the generated waves due to its complicated structures.A simple plane wave generator is presented in this paper,which is composed of two identical cylindrical high explosive(HE) charges and an air-metal barrier.A theoretical model was established based on two different paths of the propagation of detonation waves,based on which the size of air-metal barrier was calculated for a given charge.The corresponding numerical simulations were also carried out by AUTODYN-2D based on the calculated results,which were used to compare with the theoretical calculations.A detonation wave with a flatness of 0.039 μs within the range of 70-percent diameter of the main charge was obtained through the simulations.展开更多

Existing soft decision BPSK and APK modulations are given and compared in the thesis. In order to apply soft decision QPSK modulation based on PCSS system,the correlation of superposition PN sequences is discussed. A weighted summation algorithm is adopted in QPSK demodulation to recover the whole orthogonal correlation of the superposition sequences; meanwhile the bit error rate of weighting soft decision QPSK modulation is simulated. The simulation results show that the bit error rate performance of proposed soft decision QPSK modulation based on PCSS system is better than that of hard decision modulation. The method proposed can be widely adopted in engineering application.展开更多

In the case that the even coherent state and squeezed vacuum state are input into the interferometer, the Heisenberg limit can be approached with parity detection. At the same time, the negativity volume of Wigner function of detection mode comes entirely from the input state and varies periodically with the encoding phase. In addition, the negativity volume of Wigner function is positively correlated with the phase sensitivity of the SU(1,1) interferometer. The positive correlation may mean that the non-classicality indicated by negative Wigner function is a kind of resource that can verify some related research results of phase estimation.展开更多

For reducing the complexity,an on-line algorithm is derived. Using preceding algorithms,asymptotic performance of the proposed algorithm is proved theoretically. Numerical simulations are also provided to validate the analytical results. Our study of asymptotic performance shows that the performance of demodulation for any APK signals without CK is identical with the APK optimal receiver with CK when the number of available data symbols goes to infinity.展开更多
Objective:This study assessed the necessity of surgical re-staging in women with borderline ovarian tumors(BOTs)and evaluated the impact of complete surgical staging,lymphadenectomy,and omentectomy on disease recurren...Objective:This study assessed the necessity of surgical re-staging in women with borderline ovarian tumors(BOTs)and evaluated the impact of complete surgical staging,lymphadenectomy,and omentectomy on disease recurrence and survival.Methods:We retrospectively reviewed the medical records of patients with BOTs.A total of 901 patients were eligible for inclusion in the study,and we evaluated some of the variables and clinical/surgical characteristics of the cases.The effects of the type of surgical procedure,surgical staging,and complete or incomplete staging on recurrence were calculated.The rates of disease-free survival,overall survival,and recurrence were compared according to complete surgical staging.A Cox regression analysis was performed to identify potential prognostic factors,and survival curves were constructed using the Kaplan-Meier method.Results:The overall recurrence rate was 13.9%,and recurrence was comparable between the complete surgical staging group and the incomplete groups(P>0.05).The performance of complete surgical staging did not show an effect on long-term survival,and complete surgical staging,omentectomy,and lymphadenectomy had no effect on recurrence.In multivariate analyses,only radical surgery and adjuvant chemotherapy were risk factors for the recurrence of BOTs.Furthermore,we found that omentectomy led to a relatively low recurrence rate in patients with International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics(FIGO)stage>Ⅰ(P=0.022).Conclusion:Our results suggest that complete surgical staging should be considered a standard treatment for patients with advanced stage BOTs but not for those at FIGO stageⅠ.It might be safe to reduce the scope of surgical procedures in patients with early-stage BOTs.However,it is not necessary to perform re-staging operations for BOTs with a macroscopically normal extra-ovarian appearance.展开更多
The stemness of different side population(SP)cell subtypes in ovarian cancer cells was studied,and the heterogeneity of ovarian cancer stem cells was analyzed.The cisplatin-resistant human serous ovarian cancer cell l...The stemness of different side population(SP)cell subtypes in ovarian cancer cells was studied,and the heterogeneity of ovarian cancer stem cells was analyzed.The cisplatin-resistant human serous ovarian cancer cell line C13 was stained with the bisbenzimide Hoechst 33342.A flow cytometry-based fluorescence-activated sorting method was used to obtain lower-SP(LSP)cells,upper-SP(USP)cells,and non-SP cells(NSP)based on their sensitivity to the staining time and Hoechst dye concentration.The sphere-forming capability,expression levels of stem cell markers,resistance to high concentrations of cisplatin,and subcutaneous tumorigenicity in NOD/SCID mice of the different cell subtypes were evaluated.The C13 cells contained SP cells with stemness characteristics,and the LSP cell subtype expressed higher levels of stem cell markers,had higher in vitro sphere-forming capability,higher cisplatin resistance and higher in vivo subcutaneous tumorigenesis than USP cells(P<0.05).NSP cells had no stemness.In conclusion,different subtypes of ovarian cancer SP cells have different stemness levels,and ovarian cancer stem cells may be heterogeneous.展开更多
BACKGROUND Persistent left superior vena cava(PLSVC)is the most common venous system variant.The clinical characteristics and amniotic fluid cytogenetics of fetuses with PLSVC remain to be further explored.AIM To deve...BACKGROUND Persistent left superior vena cava(PLSVC)is the most common venous system variant.The clinical characteristics and amniotic fluid cytogenetics of fetuses with PLSVC remain to be further explored.AIM To develop reliable prenatal diagnostic recommendations through integrated analysis of the clinical characteristics of fetuses with PLSVC.METHODS Cases of PLSVC diagnosed using prenatal ultrasonography between September 2019 and November 2022 were retrospectively studied.The clinical characteristics of the pregnant women,ultrasonic imaging information,gestational age at diagnosis,pregnancy outcomes,and amniocentesis results were summarized and analyzed using categorical statistics and the chi-square test or Fisher’s exact test.RESULTS Of the 97 cases diagnosed by prenatal ultrasound,49(50.5%)had isolated PLSVC and 48(49.5%)had other structural abnormalities.The differences in pregnancy outcomes and amniocentesis conditions between the two groups were statistically significant(P<0.05).No significant differences were identified between the two groups in terms of advanced maternal age and gestational age(P>0.05).According to the results of the classification statistics,the most common intrac-ardiac abnormality was a ventricular septal defect and the most common extrac-ardiac abnormality was a single umbilical artery.In the subgroup analysis,the concurrent combination of intra-and extracardiac structural abnormalities was a risk factor for adverse pregnancy outcomes(odds ratio>1,P<0.05).Additional-ly,all abnormal cytogenetic findings on amniocentesis were observed in the comorbidity group.One case was diagnosed with 21-trisomy and six cases was diagnosed with chromosome segment duplication.CONCLUSION Examination for other structural abnormalities is strongly recommended when PLSVC is diagnosed.Poorer pregnancy outcomes and increased amniocentesis were observed in PLSVC cases with other structural abnor-malities.Amniotic fluid cytogenetics of fetuses is recommended for PLSVC with other structural abnormalities.展开更多

文摘BACKGROUND The annual incidence of metabolic-associated fatty liver disease(MAFLD)in China has been increasing and is often overlooked owing to its insidious charac-teristics.Approximately 50%of the patients have a normal weight or are not obese.They are said to have lean-type MAFLD,and few studies of such patients are available.Because MAFLD is associated with abnormal lipid metabolism,lipid-targeted metabolomics was used in this study to provide experimental evidence for early diagnosis and pathogenesis.MAFLD and analyze metabolic pathways.UPLC-Q-Orbitrap/MS content determination was used to determine serum palmitic acid(PA),oleic acid(OA),linoleic acid(LA),and arachidonic acid(AA)levels in lean-type MAFLD patients.RESULTS Urea nitrogen and uric acid levels were higher in lean-type MAFLD patients than in healthy individuals(P<0.05).Alanine transaminase and cholinesterase levels were higher in lean-type MAFLD patients than in healthy indi-viduals(P<0.01).The expression of high-density lipoprotein and apolipoprotein A-1 were lower in lean-type MAFLD patients than in healthy individuals(P<0.05)and the expression of triglycerides and fasting blood glucose were increased(P<0.01).A total of 65 biomarkers that affected the synthesis and metabolism of fatty acids were found with P<0.05 and variable importance in projection>1.The levels of PA,OA,LA,and AA were significantly increased compared with healthy individuals.CONCLUSION The metabolic profiles of lean-type MAFLD patients and healthy participants differed significantly,yielding 65 identified biomarkers.PA,OA,LA,and AA exhibited the most significant changes,offering valuable clinical guidance for prevention and treatment of lean-type MAFLD.
文摘BACKGROUND Human immunodeficiency virus(HIV)-associated dementia(HAD)is a subcortical form of dementia characterized by memory deficits and psychomotor slowing.However,HAD often presents with symptoms similar to those of Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease(CJD),particularly in patients with acquired immune deficiency syndrome(AIDS).CASE SUMMARY We report the case of a 54-year-old male who exhibited cognitive dysfunction and secondary behavioral changes following HIV infection and suspected prion exposure.The patient was diagnosed with HIV during hospitalization and his cerebrospinal fluid tested positive for 14-3-3 proteins.His electroencephalogram showed a borderline-abnormal periodic triphasic wave pattern.Contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging revealed moderate encephalatrophy and demyelination.Initially,symptomatic treatment and administration of amantadine were pursued for presumed CJD,but the patient’s condition continued to deteriorate.By contrast,the patient’s condition improved following anti-HIV therapy.This individual is also the only patient with this prognosis to have survived over 4 years.Thus,the diagnosis was revised to HAD.CONCLUSION In the diagnostic process of rapidly progressive dementia,it is crucial to rule out as many potential causes as possible and to consider an autopsy to diminish diagnostic uncertainty.The 14-3-3 protein should not be regarded as the definitive marker for CJD.Comprehensive laboratory screening for infectious diseases is essential to enhance diagnostic precision,especially in AIDS patients with potential CJD.Ultimately,a trial of diagnostic treatment may be considered when additional testing is not feasible.

文摘BACKGROUND The treatment of difficult common bile duct stones(CBDS)remains a big challenge around the world.Biliary stenting is a widely accepted rescue method in patients with failed stone extraction under endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography.Fully covered self-expanding metal stent(FCSEMS)has gained increasing attention in the management of difficult CBDS.AIM To manufacture a drug-eluting FCSEMS,which can achieve controlled release of stone-dissolving agents and speed up the dissolution of CBDS.METHODS Customized covered nitinol stents were adopted.Sodium cholate(SC)and disodium ethylene diamine tetraacetic acid(EDTA disodium,EDTA for short)were used as stone-dissolving agents.Three different types of drug-eluting stents were manufactured by dip coating(Stent I),coaxial electrospinning(Stent II),and dip coating combined with electrospinning(Stent III),respectively.The drugrelease behavior and stone-dissolving efficacy of these stents were evaluated in vitro to sort out the best manufacturing method.And the selected stonedissolving stents were further put into porcine CBD to evaluate their biosecurity.RESULTS Stent I and Stent II had obvious burst release of drugs in the first 5 d while Stent III presented controlled and sustainable drug release for 30 d.In still buffer,the final stone mass-loss rate of each group was 5.19%±0.69%for naked FCSEMS,20.37%±2.13%for Stent I,24.57%±1.45%for Stent II,and 33.72%±0.67%for Stent III.In flowing bile,the final stone mass-loss rate of each group was 5.87%±0.25%for naked FCSEMS,6.36%±0.48%for Stent I,6.38%±0.37%for Stent II,and 8.15%±0.27%for Stent III.Stent III caused the most stone mass-loss no matter in still buffer or in flowing bile,which was significantly higher than those of other groups(P<0.05).In vivo,Stent III made no difference from naked FCSEMS in serological analysis(P>0.05)and histopathological examination(P>0.05).CONCLUSION The novel SC and EDTA-eluting FCSEMS is efficient in diminishing CBDS in vitro.When conventional endoscopic techniques fail to remove difficult CBDS,SC and EDTA-eluting FCSEMS implantation may be considered a promising alternative.

文摘AIM: To investigate the effects of integrin-linked kinase (ILK) on gastric cancer cells both in vitro and in vivo. METHODS: ILK small interfering RNA (siRNA) was transfected into human gastric cancer BGC-823 cells and ILK expression was monitored by real-time quan- titative polymerase chain reaction, Western blotting analysis and immunocytochemistry. Cell attachment, proliferation, invasion, microfilament dynamics and the secretion of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) were also measured. Gastric cancer cells treated with ILK siRNA were subcutaneously transplanted into nude mice and tumor growth was assessed. RESULTS: Both ILK mRNA and protein levels were significantly down-regulated by ILK siRNA in human gastric cancer cells. This significantly inhibited cell attachment, proliferation and invasion. The knockdown of ILK also disturbed F-actin assembly and reduced VEGF secretion in conditioned medium by 40% (P 〈 0.05). Four weeks after injection of ILK siRNA-transfected gastric cancer cells into nude mice, tumor volume and weight were significantly reduced compared with that of tumors induced by cells treated with non-silencing siRNA or by untreated cells (P 〈 0.05). CONCLUSION: Targeting ILK with siRNA suppresses the growth of gastric cancer cells both in v/tro and /n vivo. ILK plays an important role in gastric cancer progression.

文摘During continuous extrusion,the welds were formed at the confluence of two billets.Influences of extrusion wheel rotational speed on micromorphology and properties of welds of 6063 Al alloy were investigated through microstructure observation,tensile test,and SEM analyses.Welding parameters were analyzed using finite element simulation.Results indicated that metal welding was remarkably affected by oxide on outer surface of the double billets during continuous extrusion.Degree of oxide breakage on the welding surface increased due to the evident increase in effective strain rate with increasing extrusion speed.The high temperature induced by increased extrusion speed accelerated the formation of metallurgical bonding.A portion of weld seam lines slowly disappeared,and the proportion of the welding interface that failed to reach metallurgical bonding was also gradually reduced.Tensile strength and elongation of the weld specimen increased with the increase of extrusion speed.

文摘In order to obtain quantitative relationship between(0002) texture intensity and hot rolling conditions, conventional rolling experiments on AZ31 magnesium alloys were performed with 20%-40% reductions and temperatures within the range of 300-500 ℃. Shear strain and equivalent strain distributions along the thickness of the rolled sheets were calculated experimentally using embedded pin in a rolling sheet. Rolling microstructures and textures in the sheet surface and center layers of the AZ31 alloys were measured by optical microscopy(OM), X-ray diffractometry(XRD) and electron back scatter diffraction(EBSD). Effects of the rolling strain, dynamic recrystallization(DRX) and twinning on the texture evolution of the AZ31 alloys were investigated quantitatively. It is found that the highest(0002) basal texture intensities are obtained at a starting rolling temperature of 400 ℃ under the same strain. Strain–temperature dependency of the(0002) texture intensity of the AZ31 alloy is derived.

文摘Sleep deprivation(SD) has been associated with an increased morbidity and mortality of coronary heart disease(CHD). SD could induce autonomic nervous dysfunction, hypertension, arrhythmia, hormonal dysregulation, oxidative stress, endothelial dysfunction, inflammation and metabolic disorder in CHD patients. This paper reviewed the study results of SD in clinical trials and animal experiments and concluded that SD was associated with cardiovascular risk factors, which aggravated CHD in pathogenesis and outcomes.

文摘AIM:To investigate the activity of vesicular glutamate transporter-3(VGLUT3) in a visceral hyperalgesia rat model of irritable bowel syndrome,and the role of mast cells(MCs).METHODS:Transient intestinal infection was inducedby oral administration of Trichinella spiralis larvae in rats.On the 100th day post-infection(PI),the rats were divided into an acute cold restraint stress(ACRS)group and a non-stressed group.Age-matched untreated rats served as controls.The abdominal withdrawal reflex was used to measure the visceromotor response to colorectal distension(CRD).The expression levels of VGLUT3 in peripheral and central neurons were analyzed by immunofluorescence and western blotting.RESULTS:VGLUT3 expression in the L6S1 dorsal root ganglion cells was significantly higher in the PI group than in the control group(0.32±0.009 vs0.22±0.008,P<0.01),and there was no significant difference in the expression of VGLUT3 between MCdeficient rats and their normal wild-type littermates.Immunofluorescence showed that the expression levels of VGLUT3 in PI+ACRS rats were enhanced in the prefrontal cortex of the brain compared with the control group.CONCLUSION:VGLUT3 is involved in the pathogenesis of visceral hyperalgesia.Coexpression of c-fos,5-hydroxytryptamine and VGLUT3 after CRD was observed in associated neuronal pathways.Increased VGLUT3 induced by transient intestinal infection was found in peripheral nerves,and was independent of MCs.Moreover,the expression of VGLUT3 was enhanced in the prefrontal cortex in rats with induced infection and stress.

文摘The Ti-35Nb-2Zr-0.3O(mass fraction,%)alloy was melted under a high-purity argon atmosphere in a high vacuumnon-consumable arc melting furnace,followed by cold deformation.The effects of cold deformation process on microstructure andmechanical properties were investigated using the OM,XRD,TEM,Vicker hardness tester and universal material testing machine.Results indicated that the alloy showed multiple plastic deformation mechanisms,including stress-inducedα'martensite(SIMα')transformation,dislocation slipping and deformation twins.With the increase of cold deformation reduction,the tensile strength andhardness increased owing to the increase of dislocation density and grain refinement,and the elastic modulus slightly increasedowing to the increase of SIMα'phase.The90%cold deformed alloy exhibited a great potential to become a new candidate forbiomedical applications since it possessed low elastic modulus(56.2GPa),high tensile strength(1260MPa)and highstrength-to-modulus ratio(22.4×10-3),which are superior than those of Ti-6Al-4V alloy.

文摘AIM:To investigate changes of choroidal thickness(ChT) in children with myopia and the effect of current myopia control interventions on ChT.METHODS:Major literature databases were searched for studies relevant to myopia in children.All studies used swept-source optical coherence tomography(SS-OCT) or enhanced depth imaging optical coherence tomography(EDI-OCT) to measure the ChT value.The weighted mean difference(WMD) and 95% confidence interval(CI) were pooled to evaluate ChT in myopia children.RESULTS:A total of 11 eligible articles,including 1693 myopic and 1132 non-myopic eyes,were included in the first Meta-analysis.The sub-foveal choroidal thickness(SFCT;WMD=-40.06,95%CI,-59.36 to-20.75,P<0.001) and ChT at other sectors were significantly thinner in myopic eyes compared with the non-myopic eyes.The Meta-analysis revealed that the ChT decreased horizontally from the temporal sector toward the nasal sector in the pediatric myopia population.Another 11 studies reporting the effect of myopia control interventions were included in the second Meta-analysis for the relationship between myopia control treatments and ChT.SFCT significantly increased after orthokeratology(OK) treatment and OK combined with 0.01% atropine(OKA) treatment(WMD=19.47,95%CI,15.96 to 22.98,P<0.001;WMD=21.81,95%CI,12.92 to 29.70,P<0.001,respectively).The forest plots showed that SFCT changed little in myopic children receiving 0.01% atropine(P=0.30).Furthermore,the Meta-analysis showed that OK treatment had a stronger effect on the value of SFCT in myopic children as compared with 0.01% atropine(WMD=9.86;95%CI,-0.21 to 19.93,P=0.05).There is no difference between the treatment with OK and OKA treatment in ChT in myopic children(P=0.37).CONCLUSION:The ChT in myopic eyes is thinner than that in non-myopic eyes in pediatric population.Myopia control interventions including OK and OKA lead to ChT thickening,but other treatments such as 0.01% atropine did not show an increase in ChT.

文摘Plane wave generators(PWGs) are used to accelerate flyer plates to high velocities with their generated plane waves,which are widely used in the test of dynamic properties of materials.The traditional PWG is composed of two explosives with different detonation velocities.It is difficult to implement the related fabrication processes and control the generated waves due to its complicated structures.A simple plane wave generator is presented in this paper,which is composed of two identical cylindrical high explosive(HE) charges and an air-metal barrier.A theoretical model was established based on two different paths of the propagation of detonation waves,based on which the size of air-metal barrier was calculated for a given charge.The corresponding numerical simulations were also carried out by AUTODYN-2D based on the calculated results,which were used to compare with the theoretical calculations.A detonation wave with a flatness of 0.039 μs within the range of 70-percent diameter of the main charge was obtained through the simulations.

文摘Recently,soft decision modulations become the highlight of parallel combinatory spread spectrum ( PCSS) system. Existing soft decision BPSK and APK modulations are given and compared in the thesis. In order to apply soft decision QPSK modulation based on PCSS system,the correlation of superposition PN sequences is discussed. A weighted summation algorithm is adopted in QPSK demodulation to recover the whole orthogonal correlation of the superposition sequences; meanwhile the bit error rate of weighting soft decision QPSK modulation is simulated. The simulation results show that the bit error rate performance of proposed soft decision QPSK modulation based on PCSS system is better than that of hard decision modulation. The method proposed can be widely adopted in engineering application.

文摘Both the negativity of Wigner function and the phase sensitivity of an SU(1,1) interferometer are investigated in this paper. In the case that the even coherent state and squeezed vacuum state are input into the interferometer, the Heisenberg limit can be approached with parity detection. At the same time, the negativity volume of Wigner function of detection mode comes entirely from the input state and varies periodically with the encoding phase. In addition, the negativity volume of Wigner function is positively correlated with the phase sensitivity of the SU(1,1) interferometer. The positive correlation may mean that the non-classicality indicated by negative Wigner function is a kind of resource that can verify some related research results of phase estimation.

文摘In this paper,a novel demodulation algorithm without constellation knowledge ( CK) for Amplitude-Phase Keying ( APK) signals is introduced,which is based on the minimum probability of symbol error ( MPSE) criterion,optimal in performance and suitable for non-cooperative communication. For reducing the complexity,an on-line algorithm is derived. Using preceding algorithms,asymptotic performance of the proposed algorithm is proved theoretically. Numerical simulations are also provided to validate the analytical results. Our study of asymptotic performance shows that the performance of demodulation for any APK signals without CK is identical with the APK optimal receiver with CK when the number of available data symbols goes to infinity.

文摘Objective:This study assessed the necessity of surgical re-staging in women with borderline ovarian tumors(BOTs)and evaluated the impact of complete surgical staging,lymphadenectomy,and omentectomy on disease recurrence and survival.Methods:We retrospectively reviewed the medical records of patients with BOTs.A total of 901 patients were eligible for inclusion in the study,and we evaluated some of the variables and clinical/surgical characteristics of the cases.The effects of the type of surgical procedure,surgical staging,and complete or incomplete staging on recurrence were calculated.The rates of disease-free survival,overall survival,and recurrence were compared according to complete surgical staging.A Cox regression analysis was performed to identify potential prognostic factors,and survival curves were constructed using the Kaplan-Meier method.Results:The overall recurrence rate was 13.9%,and recurrence was comparable between the complete surgical staging group and the incomplete groups(P>0.05).The performance of complete surgical staging did not show an effect on long-term survival,and complete surgical staging,omentectomy,and lymphadenectomy had no effect on recurrence.In multivariate analyses,only radical surgery and adjuvant chemotherapy were risk factors for the recurrence of BOTs.Furthermore,we found that omentectomy led to a relatively low recurrence rate in patients with International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics(FIGO)stage>Ⅰ(P=0.022).Conclusion:Our results suggest that complete surgical staging should be considered a standard treatment for patients with advanced stage BOTs but not for those at FIGO stageⅠ.It might be safe to reduce the scope of surgical procedures in patients with early-stage BOTs.However,it is not necessary to perform re-staging operations for BOTs with a macroscopically normal extra-ovarian appearance.

文摘The stemness of different side population(SP)cell subtypes in ovarian cancer cells was studied,and the heterogeneity of ovarian cancer stem cells was analyzed.The cisplatin-resistant human serous ovarian cancer cell line C13 was stained with the bisbenzimide Hoechst 33342.A flow cytometry-based fluorescence-activated sorting method was used to obtain lower-SP(LSP)cells,upper-SP(USP)cells,and non-SP cells(NSP)based on their sensitivity to the staining time and Hoechst dye concentration.The sphere-forming capability,expression levels of stem cell markers,resistance to high concentrations of cisplatin,and subcutaneous tumorigenicity in NOD/SCID mice of the different cell subtypes were evaluated.The C13 cells contained SP cells with stemness characteristics,and the LSP cell subtype expressed higher levels of stem cell markers,had higher in vitro sphere-forming capability,higher cisplatin resistance and higher in vivo subcutaneous tumorigenesis than USP cells(P<0.05).NSP cells had no stemness.In conclusion,different subtypes of ovarian cancer SP cells have different stemness levels,and ovarian cancer stem cells may be heterogeneous.
文摘BACKGROUND Persistent left superior vena cava(PLSVC)is the most common venous system variant.The clinical characteristics and amniotic fluid cytogenetics of fetuses with PLSVC remain to be further explored.AIM To develop reliable prenatal diagnostic recommendations through integrated analysis of the clinical characteristics of fetuses with PLSVC.METHODS Cases of PLSVC diagnosed using prenatal ultrasonography between September 2019 and November 2022 were retrospectively studied.The clinical characteristics of the pregnant women,ultrasonic imaging information,gestational age at diagnosis,pregnancy outcomes,and amniocentesis results were summarized and analyzed using categorical statistics and the chi-square test or Fisher’s exact test.RESULTS Of the 97 cases diagnosed by prenatal ultrasound,49(50.5%)had isolated PLSVC and 48(49.5%)had other structural abnormalities.The differences in pregnancy outcomes and amniocentesis conditions between the two groups were statistically significant(P<0.05).No significant differences were identified between the two groups in terms of advanced maternal age and gestational age(P>0.05).According to the results of the classification statistics,the most common intrac-ardiac abnormality was a ventricular septal defect and the most common extrac-ardiac abnormality was a single umbilical artery.In the subgroup analysis,the concurrent combination of intra-and extracardiac structural abnormalities was a risk factor for adverse pregnancy outcomes(odds ratio>1,P<0.05).Additional-ly,all abnormal cytogenetic findings on amniocentesis were observed in the comorbidity group.One case was diagnosed with 21-trisomy and six cases was diagnosed with chromosome segment duplication.CONCLUSION Examination for other structural abnormalities is strongly recommended when PLSVC is diagnosed.Poorer pregnancy outcomes and increased amniocentesis were observed in PLSVC cases with other structural abnor-malities.Amniotic fluid cytogenetics of fetuses is recommended for PLSVC with other structural abnormalities.
