Coastal wetlands are crucial for the‘blue carbon sink’,significantly contributing to regulating climate change.This study util-ized 160 soil samples,35 remote sensing features,and 5 geo-climatic data to accurately e...Coastal wetlands are crucial for the‘blue carbon sink’,significantly contributing to regulating climate change.This study util-ized 160 soil samples,35 remote sensing features,and 5 geo-climatic data to accurately estimate the soil organic carbon stocks(SOCS)in the coastal wetlands of Tianjin and Hebei,China.To reduce data redundancy,simplify model complexity,and improve model inter-pretability,Pearson correlation analysis(PsCA),Boruta,and recursive feature elimination(RFE)were employed to optimize features.Combined with the optimized features,the soil organic carbon density(SOCD)prediction model was constructed by using multivariate adaptive regression splines(MARS),extreme gradient boosting(XGBoost),and random forest(RF)algorithms and applied to predict the spatial distribution of SOCD and estimate the SOCS of different wetland types in 2020.The results show that:1)different feature combinations have a significant influence on the model performance.Better prediction performance was attained by building a model using RFE-based feature combinations.RF has the best prediction accuracy(R^(2)=0.587,RMSE=0.798 kg/m^(2),MAE=0.660 kg/m^(2)).2)Optical features are more important than radar and geo-climatic features in the MARS,XGBoost,and RF algorithms.3)The size of SOCS is related to SOCD and the area of each wetland type,aquaculture pond has the highest SOCS,followed by marsh,salt pan,mud-flat,and sand shore.展开更多
Type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)is one of the most prevalent chronic metabolic disorder characterized by insulin resistance and relative insulin deficiency.PPARδactivation has been reported to have several beneficial e...Type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)is one of the most prevalent chronic metabolic disorder characterized by insulin resistance and relative insulin deficiency.PPARδactivation has been reported to have several beneficial effects in alleviating dyslipidemia and insulin resistance.GW501516,a synthetic PPARδagonist,was developed to target hyperlipidemia and reported to alleviating insulin resistance in T2DM.Studies indicate that PPARδactivation by GW501516 can reduce adiposity,enhanceβ-oxidation of fatty acids,and improve insulin sensitivity in T2DM animal models.Despite its therapeutic promise,potential carcinogenic effects also have been reported.Therefore,a comprehensive non-targeted and targeted lipidomics study was carried out to evaluate the regulatory effect of GW501516 in the plasma of db/db mice.The results revealed that GW501516 is effective in reducing the accumulation of lipids in the fatty acid metabolism pathway and lipid classes including triglycerides and phosphatidylglycerols.Furthermore,activation of PPARδby GW501516 demonstrated a beneficial effect on improving circulating cholesterol homeostasis.However,while the levels of hexosylceramides and sphingomyelin were partially reversed,ceramide levels,which are negatively associated with insulin sensitivity,were significantly elevated by GW501516.Despite these mixed outcomes,the study highlights both the promising therapeutic potential of PPARδactivation in metabolic disorders and the safety concerns regarding long-term clinical use.The findings provide valuable insights into the impact of GW501516-induced PPARδactivation on lipid metabolism in T2DM,contributing to a better understanding of its therapeutic potential and risks.展开更多
Embodied intelligence represents a new paradigm for the cross-integration development of artificial intelli⁃gence.By endowing AI with a"physical body",it enables interaction with the real world,allowing AI t...Embodied intelligence represents a new paradigm for the cross-integration development of artificial intelli⁃gence.By endowing AI with a"physical body",it enables interaction with the real world,allowing AI to move beyond digital environments into the physical realm and demonstrate intelligence that simulates or even surpasses human capa⁃bilities.Although embodied artificial intelligence demonstrates substantial potential in the realm of invention and cre⁃ation,there remain challenges in obtaining patent authorization for its generated technical solutions,specifically con⁃cerning subject,object,and market aspects.To address these issues,the feasibility of the subject should be demon⁃strated from the perspective of embodied cognition theory,while the object should be justified from a techno-centric standpoint.Subsequently,a regulatory framework for the patentability of technical solutions generated by embodied in⁃telligence should be proposed.First,a more inclusive subject framework should be established,recognizing embodied artificial intelligence as an inventor alongside humans,thereby affirming a coexistent"inventor"identity.Second,pat⁃ent rights should be assigned to developers of embodied artificial intelligence,referencing the rights distribution para⁃digm under employment relationships.Third,the criteria for patent eligibility and the"three-aspect"examination stan⁃dards should be refined.Finally,mechanisms for optimizing the implementation of rights and risk prevention should be developed.展开更多
OBJECTIVE:To investigate the efficacy and safety of Angong Jiangya pill(AGJY,安宫降压丸)in the treatment of grade 2 hypertension with liver-fire hyperactivity syndrome.METHODS:This multicenter,randomized,double-blind,...OBJECTIVE:To investigate the efficacy and safety of Angong Jiangya pill(AGJY,安宫降压丸)in the treatment of grade 2 hypertension with liver-fire hyperactivity syndrome.METHODS:This multicenter,randomized,double-blind,placebo-controlled trial was conducted in eight medical institutions.Eligible patients with grade 2 hypertension were randomly allocated to receive AGJY or a placebo for 12 weeks.The primary outcome was the change in blood pressure(BP).The secondary outcomes were BP compliance rate,Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)symptoms,and Duchenne Hypertension Quality of Life Scale score.RESULTS:Data were analyzed for 117 participants in the AGJY group and 118 participants in the placebo group.After 12 weeks of treatment,AGJY compared with placebo resulted in a higher and significant reduction in systolic/diastolic BP(-15.58±10.16/-9.72±7.41 vs-8.13±8.28/-4.86±5.68 mm Hg,P<0.0001,<0.0001,respectively).BP compliance rate(31.86%vs 19.13%,P=0.027)was significantly higher in the AGJY group than in the placebo group.The AGJY group showed a significant reduction in TCM symptom score compared with the placebo group(10.82±2.03 vs 7.83±1.24,P<0.0001).Single TCM syndrome clinical control rates of the primary symptoms(dizziness,headache,and irritability)were superior in the AGJY group(71.95%,94.62%,72.53%,respectively)compared with the placebo group(48.39%,68.00%,30.52%,respectively).Scores on the Duchenne Hypertension Quality of Life Scale showed a significant increase in the AGJY group compared with the placebo group(30.65±21.06 vs 9.96±10.72,P=0.000).No serious adverse events occurred.CONCLUSION:AGJY demonstrated efficacy in lowering BP,increasing the rate of BP compliance,and improving TCM symptoms and quality of life in patients with grade 2 hypertension liver-fire hyperactivity syndrome.However,further in-depth studies are required to determine the mechanism of TCM in treating hypertension.展开更多
The chief objective of the article is to learn the spatial characteristics of stress distribution around a shallow buried cylinder Karst cave in limestone strata.Firstly,taking into account the geometry of limestone f...The chief objective of the article is to learn the spatial characteristics of stress distribution around a shallow buried cylinder Karst cave in limestone strata.Firstly,taking into account the geometry of limestone formations,and the characteristics of Karst geomorphology in China,a spatial axialsymmetrical hollow model was established.Concurrently,combining available work and the concept of elasticity,the boundary conditions are determined.Subsequently,Love displacement method was introduced,the expressions of stress components were gained.The diagram characteristics of each stress component are summarized,which are affected by various influencing factors.Finally,in order to prove the rationality of the general solution,numerical simulation was carried out on the basis of practical engineering,and the maximum error is less than 5%.Thus,the analytical solution could represent the spatial characteristics of stress distribution around a shallow buried cylinder Karst cave in limestone strata.展开更多
