METHODS: Pub Med, Web of Science, and the Cochrane Library were systematically searched to obtain relevant articles ...AIM: To investigate whether prophylactic abdominal drainage is necessary after pancreatic resection. METHODS: Pub Med, Web of Science, and the Cochrane Library were systematically searched to obtain relevant articles published before January 2014. Publications were retrieved if they met the selection criteria. The outcomes of interest included: mortality, morbidity, postoperative pancreatic fistula(POPF), clinically relevant pancreatic fistula(CRPF), abdominal abscess, reoperation rate, the rate of interventional radiology drainage, and the length of hospital stay. Subgroup analyses were also performed for pancreaticoduodenectomy(PD) and for distal pancreatectomy. Begg's funnel plot and the Egger regression test were employed to assess potential publication bias.RESULTS: Nine eligible studies involving a total of 2794 patients were identified and included in this meta-analysis. Of the included patients, 1373 received prophylactic abdominal drainage. A fixedeffects model meta-analysis showed that placement of prophylactic drainage did not have beneficial effects on clinical outcomes, including morbidity, POPF, CRPF, reoperation, interventional radiology drainage, and length of hospital stay(Ps > 0.05). In addition, prophylactic drainage did not significantly increase the risk of abdominal abscess. Overall analysis showed that omitting prophylactic abdominal drainage resulted in higher mortality after pancreatectomy(OR = 1.56; 95%CI: 0.93-2.92). Subgroup analysis of PD showed similar results to those in the overall analysis. Elimination of prophylactic abdominal drainage after PD led to a significant increase in mortality(OR = 2.39; 95%CI: 1.22-4.69; P = 0.01).CONCLUSION: Prophylactic abdominal drainage after pancreatic resection is still necessary, though more evidence from randomized controlled trials assessing prophylactic drainage after PD and distal pancreatectomy are needed.展开更多

The site responses of 14 seismic stations do not show significant amplification, which is consistent with their basement on rock. In the present article, problems were analyzed regarding the assessment of responder countermeasures, training of professionals and the management of emergency medical incidents related to nuclear, biological and chemical attacks. Countermeasures, the establishment of response coordination, public education, practical training and exercise, and a professional consultant team or system should be the focus of emergency medical response facilities. Moreover, the government was offered professionals who are involved in managing nuclear, biological and chemical incidents.展开更多

Methods： Orthotopic liver transplantation model was used in this study. Groups were set as follows： Group I, syngeneic control （Wistar-to-Wistar）; Group II, acute rejection （SD-to-Wistar）; Group III, acute rejection treated with cyclosporine A （CsA） by intramuscular injection （SD-to-Wistar＋CsA）; Group IV, bone marrow infusion at 7 d pretransplantation followed by short-term CsA treatment （SD-to-Wistar＋DSBM）; Another group of short-term CsA treatment preoperatively without bone marrow infusion was also set as control. General characteristics and survival time were observed. Histological grades of rejection were determined by pathological examination. IL-2 and IFN-7 level in peripheral blood and donor liver were detected respectively by Enzyme-Linked Immuno-Sorbent Assay （ELISA） and Western blot. Chimerism of donor cells was measured by PCR for a male-specific marker （Y-chromosome-specific sequence, Sry）. Results： No signs of rejection were found in Group Ⅰ. Acute rejection occurred in both Group Ⅱ and the short-term CsA treated group. All the recipients died at （9-15） d posttransplantation with a median survival time of （10.7i0.5） d and （11.2±2.4） d, respectively. Only mild rejection could be seen in Group Ⅲ. In Group Ⅳ, 4 out of 6 recipients had long-term survival （〉100 d）, the histological grade of rejection was significantly lower than that of Group Ⅱ, so did the expression level of IL-2 and IFN-7 in both peripheral blood and grafted liver. Y-chromosome-specific sequence （Sry） of male SD rats could be detected in the bone marrow, spleen and thymus of female recipients at 15 d after bone marrow infusion. Conclusion： Mild preconditioning nonmyeloablative donor specific bone marrow infusion can enhance chimerism formation in recipients, alleviate the rejection of liver allotransplantation and prolong survival of liver allotransplantation.展开更多

We designed a source detection algorithm to enable the switch to know the number of sources and the cell rate of each source in a multipoint to point VC. These information is very important for the source based rate distribution algorithm. For a special hydraulic damping structure, an arciform damping clearance often used in FCS, a mathematical model has been established for fluid flow using the theory of laminar flow in the clearance of parallel plates. Analytical calculations are made for fluid flow in the arciform clearance and relational expression is deduced for flow rate along the arciform cleaance height, pressure difference, maximum arciform clearance height, the flow rate for the fluid flow in arciform clearance as well, and its simplified formula is obtained by using the theory of hydrodynamics and the curve-fitting method. This paper consists of two sections:the first section focuses on the theoretical analysis by using the simplified mathematical model and the second section mainly describes experimental analysis. The simplified formula is corrected with experimental results by considerig various boundary conditions of the damping clearance. Experimental results show that this study of arciform damping clearance is reliable and practical.展开更多

Methods: Highly purified spermatogonia were isolated from 9-day-old rats, pachytene sperma...Objective: To screen the stage-specific expression genes from rat spermatogonia, pachytene spermatocytes and round spermatids. Methods: Highly purified spermatogonia were isolated from 9-day-old rats, pachytene spermatocytes and round spermatids from adult rats by sedimentation velocity at unit gravity, using 2%-4% BSA gradient in DMEM/F12 medium. A mRNA differential display method was used for screening the stage-specific expression gene. Results: Nineteen differentially expressed cDNA fragments were obtained. After excluding the false positive cDNA fragments by dot blot, 13 cDNAs were selected to clone and sequence. To obtain longer cDNAs, six ESTs were used to screen the rat testis λ-zap II cDNA library. Two longer cDNA fragments, designated as LY21 and LM66, were obtained. The analysis with DNAMAN software indicated that LY21 had a long open reading frame coding 372 amino acids while LM66 had no long open reading frame. LY21 were highly homologous with hnRNP H1. To observe the expression patterns of LY21 gene in the testicular cells, we performed in situ hybridization on testis sections from adult rats. The LY21 gene expression was found in the spermatogonia and primary spermatocytes.Conclusion: This study indicated that LY21 gene was associated with spermatogenesis. Further studies will be needed to explore the function of LY21.展开更多
