Graphene-metal based materials have been utilized in lithium-sulfur(Li–S)batteries owing to their integrated functionalities thus far.However,their synthesis has predominantly relied on wet-chemistry routes,which lim...Graphene-metal based materials have been utilized in lithium-sulfur(Li–S)batteries owing to their integrated functionalities thus far.However,their synthesis has predominantly relied on wet-chemistry routes,which limited their practical activity in Li–S reaction systems.In this study,we introduce a chemical vapor deposition(CVD)-triggered dry-chemistry approach for the preparation of graphene-cobalt(Co)based catalysts.The versatile CVD technique provides a dry and controllable reaction environment,effectively pledging the compact and clean catalytic interfaces between graphene and Co-based components.Additionally,programmed reactions introduce defects such as vacancies and nitrogen heteroatoms into the catalysts.Notably,the graphene layer number and Co valence state can be delicately manipulated by altering the CVD reaction temperature.Specifically,few-layer graphene wrapped Co/Co_(3)O_(4)(FGr-Co/Co_(3)O_(4))prepared at 450 ℃ shows higher catalytic activity than the multi-layer graphene wrapped Co/CoO(MGr-Co/CoO)synthesized at 550 ℃,attributed to its comprehensive control of clean interface,valence distribution range and defects.Leveraging these advantages,the battery with FGr-Co/Co_(3)O_(4)shows favorable working stability with a degradation rate of only 0.08%over 500 cycles at 1.0 C.Furthermore,under an elevated sulfur loading of 6.1 mg cm^(–2),the battery harvests a remarkable areal capacity of 5.9 mA h cm^(–2)along with stable cyclic operation.展开更多
Lithium-sulfur(Li-S)batteries are widely deemed to be one of the most potential candidates for future secondary batteries because of their remarkable energy density.Nevertheless,notorious polysulfide shuttling and ret...Lithium-sulfur(Li-S)batteries are widely deemed to be one of the most potential candidates for future secondary batteries because of their remarkable energy density.Nevertheless,notorious polysulfide shuttling and retarded sulfur reaction kinetics pose significant obstacles to the further application of Li-S batteries.While rationally designed highly active electrocatalysts can facilitate polysulfide conversion,the universal and scalable synthesis strategies need to be developed.Herein,a universal synthetic strategy to construct a series of three-dimensional(3D)porous graphene-iron(3DGr-Fe)based electrocatalysts involving 3DGr-FeP,3DGr-Fe_(3)C,and 3DGr-Fe_(3)Se_(4)is exploited for manipulating the Li-S redox reactions.It has been observed that the implementation of a 3D porous Gr architecture leads to the well-designed conductive networks,while the uniformly dispersed iron nanoparticles introduce an abundance of active sites,fostering the lithium polysulfide conversion,thereby bolstering the overall electrochemical performance.The Li-S battery with the 3DGr-Fe based electrocatalyst exhibits remarkable capacity retention of 94.8%upon 100 times at 0.2 C.Moreover,the soft-packaged Li-S pouch cell based on such a 3DGr-Fe electrocatalyst delivers superior capacity of 1060.71 mA h g^(-1)and guarantees for the continuous 30 min work of fan toy.This investigation gives comprehensive insights into the design,synthesis,and mechanism of 3DGr-Fe based electrocatalysts with high activity toward efficient and durable Li-S batteries.展开更多
Apple fruit firmness is a crucial index for measuring the internal quality of apples,which influences palatability,storage capacity and transportability.The primary cause of reduced firmness during fruit development i...Apple fruit firmness is a crucial index for measuring the internal quality of apples,which influences palatability,storage capacity and transportability.The primary cause of reduced firmness during fruit development is the hydrolysis of cell wall polysaccharides.Xyloglucan endotransglycosylase/hydrolase(XTH)is a key enzyme involved in the depolymerization of cell wall polysaccharides,but the mechanism of its involvement in the formation of fruit firmness remains unclear.Here,we identified the gene MdXTH2 by integrating metabolomic and transcriptomic data,and analyzed its function and molecular mechanism in the formation of apple fruit firmness.The results showed downward trends in both fruit frmness and cell wall components throughout fruit development.The contents of cell wall material,cellulose,and hemicellulose in various apple varieties exhibited signifcant positive correlations with frmness,with total correlation coeffcients of 0.862,0.884,and 0.891,respectively.Overexpression of MdXTH2 signifcantly increased fruit frmness in apple and tomato,inhibited fruit ripening,and signifcantly suppressed the growth of calli.The upstream transcription factor MdNAC72 of the MdXTH2 gene can promote the expression of fruit ripening-related genes.Furthermore,dual-luciferase,yeast one-hybrid,and electrophoretic mobility shift assay(EMSA)demonstrated that MdNAC72 down-regulates the transcription of MdXTH2 by binding to its promoter.In summary,the results of this study provide a strategy for examining fruit quality regulation and a theoretical basis for breeding apple varieties with moderate frmness through genetic improvement.展开更多
AIM:To investigate the clinical signs of blepharokeratoconjunctivitis(BKC)and evaluate the efficacy of penetrating keratoplasty(PKP)for the disease.METHODS:Sixteen patients(16 eyes)with BKC complicated by corneal perf...AIM:To investigate the clinical signs of blepharokeratoconjunctivitis(BKC)and evaluate the efficacy of penetrating keratoplasty(PKP)for the disease.METHODS:Sixteen patients(16 eyes)with BKC complicated by corneal perforation hospitalised at Shandong Eye Hospital were retrospectively analyzed.All patients received PKP.Participants were assessed for symptoms,clinical manifestations,the activity and damage grading of BKC.A paired t-test was used to compare the uncorrected visual acuity(UCVA)before and after surgery for the perforated eye.RESULTS:The mean age of the patients was 16.3y.Blurred vision is the most common discomfort,followed by redness,and then photophobia.The duration of ocular discomfort lasted for 3.2y,on average.Three(18.8%)participants were associated with rosacea,while 11(68.8%)patients had recurrent chalazion or hordeolum.Demodex in eyelash follicles was positive in 11(68.8%)cases.All corneal perforations were≤3.0 mm in diameter.The perforation was located mainly in the inferior cornea(68.8%).The mean area of corneal vascularisation was 3.0 quadrants.All patients manifested bilateral BKC,with the perforated eyes ranked as severely damaged and presenting with severe inflammation.Most contralateral eyes manifested mild damage with no active inflammation.Majority(68.8%)of the perforated eyes were treated with PKP using a minimal graft.The UCVA increased significantly at the final follow-up(mean,21mo;P<0.001),with the manifestation of BKC alleviated greatly.None of the patients developed immune rejection or other serious complications.CONCLUSION:BKC combined with corneal perforation occurs mainly among young people with a long history of ocular discomfort.PKP,especially using a minimal graft,is an effective and safe option for treating the disease.展开更多

METHODS:A retrospective study was done to 10 patients (10 eyes) who had accepted removal of the necrotic corneal tissue combined with conjunctival flap covering surgery for fungal keratitis,the diagnosis by corneal scraping and smear examination or confocal microscopy check hyphae. Local and systemic antifungal therapy more than one week for all patients, corneal ulcer enlarge or no shrink. Slit lamp microscope examination the diameter of corneal ulcer about 2mm-4mm. Anterior segment optical coherence tomography (AS-OCT)examine the depth of corneal ulcer between 1/3-1/2, infiltrate corneal stroma about 20um-80um,the diameter of corneal ulcer about 3mm-6mm.Type-B ultrasonic exclusion endophthalmitis. Complete removal lesions until transparent of stoma, make conjunctival flap equal or greater than ulcer 1mm nearby conjunctiva. Continued antifungal therapy. The vision, fungal recurrence, conjunctival flap rollback or desquamate were analysed. ' RESULTS:Ten patients had success done this surgery, the corneal ulcer was not enlarge and healing afteroperation. 7 cases were bridging conjunctival flap and 3cases were single conjunctival flap. Preoperation vision above 0.1 had 8 cases,7 cases had vision above 0.1 one week after surgery, while 1 cases vision droped from 0.3 to 0.05.There was not recurrent for fungal,2 cases conjunctival flap rollback:1 case was bridging and 1case was single flap, no conjunctival flap desquamate. CONCLUSION: It is safe and effective to perform removal of the necrotic corneal tissue combined with conjunctival flap covering surgery under the guidance of the AS-OCT in treatment of fungal keratitis which werenot sensitive or aggravate for antifungal drugs.展开更多

Treatment consists of orthopedic and surgical intervention to minimize deformities and for cosmetic purpose. AIM: To compare long-term postoperative outcomes of manual and femtosecond assisted corneal trephination in deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty(FS-DALK) for keratoconus.METHODS: In the retrospective study, 17 consecut...AIM: To compare long-term postoperative outcomes of manual and femtosecond assisted corneal trephination in deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty(FS-DALK) for keratoconus.METHODS: In the retrospective study, 17 consecutive eyes that underwent vertical side cut incision FS-DALK and 22 eyes that underwent trephine incision DALK were collected over a 2-year period. Main measurements included postoperative uncorrected-visual acuity(UCVA), corrected distance visual acuity(CDVA), refractive sphere and cylinder, manifest refraction spherical equivalent(MRSE), flat and steep corneal keratometry(K1 and K2), endothelial cell density(ECD), and time of epithelium healing and suture removal.RESULTS: Groups were comparable for diagnosis and preoperative visual acuity. Follow-up averaged 23 mo(range, 12-36 mo). At 12 mo, the mean UCVA was better in the manual-DALK group(P=0.039), and the refractive sphere was lower in the FS-DALK group(P=0.040). MRSE between groups differed at 1, 6, and 12 mo postoperatively(P=0.047, 0.025, 0.042, respectively). Mean CDVA, cylinder, K1, K2,corneal astigmatism, ECD, and time of epithelium healing were similar between groups. Stability of MRSE, ECD, and K1 returned sooner after FS-DALK. Initial loosened suture removal time was earlier in the manual-DALK group(P=0.042) while complete suture removal time was similar(P=0.122).CONCLUSION: Manual and femtosecond assisted corneal trephination in DALK are options for advanced keratoconus. FS-DALK do not result in improved visual acuity but it is more stable during the follow-up period. FSDALK in the present form show limited benefit, so surgical design and parameters still need to be optimized and explored.展开更多

Despite enormous efforts, only a few host proteins in RNAi pathway were shown to mediate antiviral defense, including RNA-dependent RNA polymerase I (RDRI), RDR6, DICER-LIKE 2 (DCL2) and DCL4. In this study, we carried out a genetic screen for antiviral factors of RNAi pathway in Arabidopsis rdr6 background via inoculation with a 2b- deficient Cucumber Mosaic Virus (CMV-△2b). We identified a mutant susceptible to CMV-△2h, referred to as enhancer o ojrdr6 (enor) 3-1 rdr6, and found that ENOR3 encodes a functionally unknown protein with high homology to the mammalian Non Imprinted in Prader-Willi/Angelman (NIPA) magnesium transporters. ENOR3 inhibits accumulation of CMV-△2b and acts additively with RDR1, RDR6, DCL2 and DCL4 in antivira/ defense. These results uncover that ENOR3 is a key component in antiviral RNAi Dathwav, and provide new insights into antiviral immunity.展开更多
Objective:To compare the outcomes of dynamic hip screws(DHS)and intramedullary nailing(IMN)in the treatment of extra-capsular metastatic carcinoma of the proximal femur.Methods:A retrospective case analysis method was...Objective:To compare the outcomes of dynamic hip screws(DHS)and intramedullary nailing(IMN)in the treatment of extra-capsular metastatic carcinoma of the proximal femur.Methods:A retrospective case analysis method was used to examine data of patients with proximal metastatic cancer of the femur who were treated with internal fixation in Department of Orthopaedics,Beijing Friendship Hospital,from January 2007 to December 2018.Blood loss,postoperative pain,functional score,length of stay,and survival rates were compared,and postoperative complications were assessed.Results:Complete follow-up data were available for 33 patients.The mean follow-up period was 12.2±3.6(range:9-32)months and the average age was 72.3±4.7(range:59-83)years old.There were 20 females and 13 males.Twenty-three patients had undergone IMN and 10 DHS,according to bone defects and the patient’s overall condition.The median survival time was 10 months in the IMN group and 11 months in the DHS group.Duration of surgery(t=-7.366,P<0.001)and length of hospital stay(t=-3.509,P<0.001)differed significantly between the two groups.There was one case of breakage of internal fixation in the IMN group.Conclusions:There was no significant difference between DHS and IMN in terms of surgical efficacy.IMN and DHS were different in terms of surgical time and hospital stay.However,due to the limited number of cases in this study,multi-factor analysis has not been performed and needs to be further verified in future analysis.When developing a surgical plan,it is recommended to consider the patient’s condition and the surgeon’s experience.展开更多

Meth...Objective: To evaluate the clinical and functional outcomes of modular endoprosthetic replacement (EPR) compared to proximal femur intramedullary nailing (IMN) for the treatment of proximal femur metastases. Methods: We retrospectively studied the records of patients with proximal femur metastatic lesions treated with surgical stabilization between January 2007 and December 2014 in terms of operation time, blood loss, postoperative score, soreness, Karnofsky performance score (KPS) and survival time. Results: There were 34 patients treated with surgical stabilization. The mean follow-up period was 12.1~8.6 months (range: 10-47 months). Thirteen were treated with EPR and 21 were stabilized with IMN (20 males, 14 females; mean age: 68.7 years). The median survival time was 11.0 months for both groups (P=0.147). The operation time, blood loss and Harris score of IMN group were lower than those of EPR group (P=0.001, P=0.001, P=0.002, respectively). Conclusions: Both EPR and IMN for treating proximal femur metastasis achieved effective clinical outcomes. Therefore, the suitable surgical methods depended on the general conditions and medical requirements of patients, as well as the technical advantages of the doctor.展开更多
Background Patients who suffer comorbidity of major depressive disorder(MDD)and chronic pain(CP)maintain a complex interplay between maladaptive prospective memory(PM)and retrospective memory(RM)with physical pain,and...Background Patients who suffer comorbidity of major depressive disorder(MDD)and chronic pain(CP)maintain a complex interplay between maladaptive prospective memory(PM)and retrospective memory(RM)with physical pain,and their complications are still unknown.Aims We aimed to focus on the full cognitive performance and memory complaints in patients with MDD and CP,patients with depression without CP,and control subjects,considering the possible influence of depressed affect and chronic pain severity.Methods According to the fifth edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders and the criteria given by the International Association of Pain,a total of 124 participants were included in this cross-sectional cohort study.Among them,82 depressed inpatients and outpatients from Anhui Mental Health centre were divided into two groups:a comorbidity group(patients with MDD and CP)(n=40)and a depression group(patients with depression without CP)(n=42).Meanwhile,42 healthy controls were screened from the hospital’s physical examination centre from January 2019 to January 2022.The Hamilton Depression Rating Scale-24(HAMD-24)and Beck Depression Inventory-II(BDI-II)were used to evaluate the severity of depression.The Pain Intensity Numerical Rating Scale(PI-NRS),Short-Form McGill Pain Questionnaire-2 Chinese version(SF-MPQ-2-CN),Montreal Cognitive Assessment-Basic Section(MoCA-BC),and Prospective and Retrospective Memory Questionnaire(PRMQ)were used to assess pain-related features and the global cognitive functioning of study participants.Results The impairments in PM and RM differed remarkably among the three groups(F=7.221,p<0.001;F=7.408,p<0.001)and were severe in the comorbidity group.Spearman correlation analysis revealed the PM and RM were positively correlated with continuous pain and neuropathic pain(r=0.431,p<0.001;r=0.253,p=0.022 and r=0.415,p<0.001;r=0.247,p=0.025),respectively.Regression analysis indicated a significant positive relationship between affective descriptors and total BDI-II score(β=0.594,t=6.600,p<0.001).Examining the mediator pathways revealed the indirect role of PM and RM in patients with comorbid MDD and CP.Conclusions Patients with comorbid MDD and CP presented more PM and RM impairments than patients with MDD without CP.PM and RM are possibly mediating factors that affect the aetiology of comorbid MDD and CP.展开更多

In this work, the radial distribution...Flexoelectric effect, referring to the strain gradient induced polarization, widely exists in dielectric materials, but its molecular dynamics has not been studied so much so far. In this work, the radial distribution function of BaTiO_(3) and the phase transition temperatures have been investigated, and the results show that the core-shell potential model is effective and the structure of BaTiO_(3) is stable in a temperature range of 10 K–150 K. Molecular dynamics simulated hysteresis loops of BaTiO_(3) show that anisotropy can play an important role in the coercive field. Based on the rational simulation process,the effects of cantilever beam bent angle and fixed length on the polarization are analyzed. It is found that the small bent angle of the curved cantilever beam can give a proportional relationship with a fixed end length and a non-linear relationship is presented when the bent angle is much larger. The prediction of flexoelectric coefficient in BaTiO_(3) is 18.5 nC/m. This work provides a computational framework for the study of flexoelectric effect by using molecular dynamics.展开更多
AIM:To describe the design and clinical application of a corneal donor dehydrator which can quickly dehydrate corneas and keep its original shape.METHODS:The corneal donor material is placed on stainless steel beads w...AIM:To describe the design and clinical application of a corneal donor dehydrator which can quickly dehydrate corneas and keep its original shape.METHODS:The corneal donor material is placed on stainless steel beads with different diameters in the dehydrating box to make the cornea the same shape as the steel ball.Then,the cornea is placed inside the dehydrater for rapid dehydrating using the internal cleaning and ventilation system.Totally 83 eyes underwent deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty(DALK)using corneal donor tissue preserved with corneal dehydrater,and 60 patients(60 eyes)received DALK by the same surgeon using corneal donor tissue preserved with glycerol were included in the control group.The best corrected visual acuity(BCVA),the thickness and transparency of the corneal buttons were recorded.RESULTS:After the completion of dehydrating,all the donor corneas maintained a normal shape without any shrinkage or distortion,and the average intraoperative rehydration time was 43.3±12.1 s during operation.The mean BCVA of the dehydrater group was 0.30±0.18 at 1 wk and 0.32±0.16 at 1 mo,which were statistically better than that of the control group(P<0.001).The score of corneal buttons transparency were lower than that of the control group with statistical difference(P<0.001).The thickness of corneal buttons at 1 wk and at 1 mo in the dehydrater group was significantly better than that of the control group respectively(P<0.001).One week after operation,no corneal button turbidity or edema was observed in both groups.CONCLUSION:The dehydrater can quickly dehydrate the corneal material in a clean and airtight environment and maintain the original shape of the corneal donor during the dehydrating process.This dehydrater is recommended for long-term high-quality preservation in areas where corneal materials cannot be used within a reasonable time period.展开更多

We combine the PASTEL ...The Large Sky Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopic Telescope (LAMOST) published its first data release (DR1) in 2013, which is currently the largest dataset of stellar spectra in the world. We combine the PASTEL catalog and SIMBAD radial velocities as a testing standard to validate stellar parameters (effec- tive temperature Tefr, surface gravity log g, metallicity [Fe/H] and radial velocity Vr) derived from DR1. Through cross-identification of the DR1 catalogs and the PASTEL catalog, we obtain a preliminary sample of 422 stars. After removal of stellar param- eter measurements from problematic spectra and applying effective temperature con- straints to the sample, we compare the stellar parameters from DR1 with those from PASTEL and SIMBAD to demonstrate that the DR1 results are reliable in restricted ranges of Tefr. We derive standard deviations of 110 K, 0.19 dex and 0.11 dex for Tell, log 9 and [Fe/H] respectively when Teff〈 8000 K, and 4.91 km s-1 for Vr when Teff 〈 10 000 K. Systematic errors are negligible except for those of Vr. In addition, metallicities in DR1 are systematically higher than those in PASTEL, in the range of PASTEL [Fe/H] 〈 -1.5.展开更多

In addition, through a comparative study of the properties for two representative PC structures with different types of Dirac cones, we find that the PC with a Dirac-like cone which meets the three necessary conditions does not behave as a ZIM in some cases. Further analysis shows that its non-zero index properties originate from the flat dispersion band.These findings clarify the fundamental physical issue of which type of Dirac cone PC can mimic a real ZIM.展开更多
The eye,a complex organ isolated from the systemic circulation,presents significant drug delivery challenges owing to its protective mechanisms,such as the blood-retinal barrier and corneal impermeability.Conventional...The eye,a complex organ isolated from the systemic circulation,presents significant drug delivery challenges owing to its protective mechanisms,such as the blood-retinal barrier and corneal impermeability.Conventional drug administration methods often fail to sustain therapeutic levels and may compromise patient safety and compliance.Polysaccharidebased microneedles(PSMNs)have emerged as a transformative solution for ophthalmic drug delivery.However,a comprehensive review of PSMNs in ophthalmology has not been published to date.In this review,we critically examine the synergy between polysaccharide chemistry and microneedle technology for enhancing ocular drug delivery.We provide a thorough analysis of PSMNs,summarizing the design principles,fabrication processes,and challenges addressed during fabrication,including improving patient comfort and compliance.We also describe recent advances and the performance of various PSMNs in both research and clinical scenarios.Finally,we review the current regulatory frameworks and market barriers that are relevant to the clinical and commercial advancement of PSMNs and provide a final perspective on this research area.展开更多

文摘Graphene-metal based materials have been utilized in lithium-sulfur(Li–S)batteries owing to their integrated functionalities thus far.However,their synthesis has predominantly relied on wet-chemistry routes,which limited their practical activity in Li–S reaction systems.In this study,we introduce a chemical vapor deposition(CVD)-triggered dry-chemistry approach for the preparation of graphene-cobalt(Co)based catalysts.The versatile CVD technique provides a dry and controllable reaction environment,effectively pledging the compact and clean catalytic interfaces between graphene and Co-based components.Additionally,programmed reactions introduce defects such as vacancies and nitrogen heteroatoms into the catalysts.Notably,the graphene layer number and Co valence state can be delicately manipulated by altering the CVD reaction temperature.Specifically,few-layer graphene wrapped Co/Co_(3)O_(4)(FGr-Co/Co_(3)O_(4))prepared at 450 ℃ shows higher catalytic activity than the multi-layer graphene wrapped Co/CoO(MGr-Co/CoO)synthesized at 550 ℃,attributed to its comprehensive control of clean interface,valence distribution range and defects.Leveraging these advantages,the battery with FGr-Co/Co_(3)O_(4)shows favorable working stability with a degradation rate of only 0.08%over 500 cycles at 1.0 C.Furthermore,under an elevated sulfur loading of 6.1 mg cm^(–2),the battery harvests a remarkable areal capacity of 5.9 mA h cm^(–2)along with stable cyclic operation.

文摘Lithium-sulfur(Li-S)batteries are widely deemed to be one of the most potential candidates for future secondary batteries because of their remarkable energy density.Nevertheless,notorious polysulfide shuttling and retarded sulfur reaction kinetics pose significant obstacles to the further application of Li-S batteries.While rationally designed highly active electrocatalysts can facilitate polysulfide conversion,the universal and scalable synthesis strategies need to be developed.Herein,a universal synthetic strategy to construct a series of three-dimensional(3D)porous graphene-iron(3DGr-Fe)based electrocatalysts involving 3DGr-FeP,3DGr-Fe_(3)C,and 3DGr-Fe_(3)Se_(4)is exploited for manipulating the Li-S redox reactions.It has been observed that the implementation of a 3D porous Gr architecture leads to the well-designed conductive networks,while the uniformly dispersed iron nanoparticles introduce an abundance of active sites,fostering the lithium polysulfide conversion,thereby bolstering the overall electrochemical performance.The Li-S battery with the 3DGr-Fe based electrocatalyst exhibits remarkable capacity retention of 94.8%upon 100 times at 0.2 C.Moreover,the soft-packaged Li-S pouch cell based on such a 3DGr-Fe electrocatalyst delivers superior capacity of 1060.71 mA h g^(-1)and guarantees for the continuous 30 min work of fan toy.This investigation gives comprehensive insights into the design,synthesis,and mechanism of 3DGr-Fe based electrocatalysts with high activity toward efficient and durable Li-S batteries.

文摘Apple fruit firmness is a crucial index for measuring the internal quality of apples,which influences palatability,storage capacity and transportability.The primary cause of reduced firmness during fruit development is the hydrolysis of cell wall polysaccharides.Xyloglucan endotransglycosylase/hydrolase(XTH)is a key enzyme involved in the depolymerization of cell wall polysaccharides,but the mechanism of its involvement in the formation of fruit firmness remains unclear.Here,we identified the gene MdXTH2 by integrating metabolomic and transcriptomic data,and analyzed its function and molecular mechanism in the formation of apple fruit firmness.The results showed downward trends in both fruit frmness and cell wall components throughout fruit development.The contents of cell wall material,cellulose,and hemicellulose in various apple varieties exhibited signifcant positive correlations with frmness,with total correlation coeffcients of 0.862,0.884,and 0.891,respectively.Overexpression of MdXTH2 signifcantly increased fruit frmness in apple and tomato,inhibited fruit ripening,and signifcantly suppressed the growth of calli.The upstream transcription factor MdNAC72 of the MdXTH2 gene can promote the expression of fruit ripening-related genes.Furthermore,dual-luciferase,yeast one-hybrid,and electrophoretic mobility shift assay(EMSA)demonstrated that MdNAC72 down-regulates the transcription of MdXTH2 by binding to its promoter.In summary,the results of this study provide a strategy for examining fruit quality regulation and a theoretical basis for breeding apple varieties with moderate frmness through genetic improvement.

文摘AIM:To investigate the clinical signs of blepharokeratoconjunctivitis(BKC)and evaluate the efficacy of penetrating keratoplasty(PKP)for the disease.METHODS:Sixteen patients(16 eyes)with BKC complicated by corneal perforation hospitalised at Shandong Eye Hospital were retrospectively analyzed.All patients received PKP.Participants were assessed for symptoms,clinical manifestations,the activity and damage grading of BKC.A paired t-test was used to compare the uncorrected visual acuity(UCVA)before and after surgery for the perforated eye.RESULTS:The mean age of the patients was 16.3y.Blurred vision is the most common discomfort,followed by redness,and then photophobia.The duration of ocular discomfort lasted for 3.2y,on average.Three(18.8%)participants were associated with rosacea,while 11(68.8%)patients had recurrent chalazion or hordeolum.Demodex in eyelash follicles was positive in 11(68.8%)cases.All corneal perforations were≤3.0 mm in diameter.The perforation was located mainly in the inferior cornea(68.8%).The mean area of corneal vascularisation was 3.0 quadrants.All patients manifested bilateral BKC,with the perforated eyes ranked as severely damaged and presenting with severe inflammation.Most contralateral eyes manifested mild damage with no active inflammation.Majority(68.8%)of the perforated eyes were treated with PKP using a minimal graft.The UCVA increased significantly at the final follow-up(mean,21mo;P<0.001),with the manifestation of BKC alleviated greatly.None of the patients developed immune rejection or other serious complications.CONCLUSION:BKC combined with corneal perforation occurs mainly among young people with a long history of ocular discomfort.PKP,especially using a minimal graft,is an effective and safe option for treating the disease.
文摘AIM: To study the clinical observation of removal of the necrotic corneal tissue combined with conjunctival flap covering surgery under the guidance of the AS-OCT in treatment of fungal keratitis. METHODS:A retrospective study was done to 10 patients (10 eyes) who had accepted removal of the necrotic corneal tissue combined with conjunctival flap covering surgery for fungal keratitis,the diagnosis by corneal scraping and smear examination or confocal microscopy check hyphae. Local and systemic antifungal therapy more than one week for all patients, corneal ulcer enlarge or no shrink. Slit lamp microscope examination the diameter of corneal ulcer about 2mm-4mm. Anterior segment optical coherence tomography (AS-OCT)examine the depth of corneal ulcer between 1/3-1/2, infiltrate corneal stroma about 20um-80um,the diameter of corneal ulcer about 3mm-6mm.Type-B ultrasonic exclusion endophthalmitis. Complete removal lesions until transparent of stoma, make conjunctival flap equal or greater than ulcer 1mm nearby conjunctiva. Continued antifungal therapy. The vision, fungal recurrence, conjunctival flap rollback or desquamate were analysed. ' RESULTS:Ten patients had success done this surgery, the corneal ulcer was not enlarge and healing afteroperation. 7 cases were bridging conjunctival flap and 3cases were single conjunctival flap. Preoperation vision above 0.1 had 8 cases,7 cases had vision above 0.1 one week after surgery, while 1 cases vision droped from 0.3 to 0.05.There was not recurrent for fungal,2 cases conjunctival flap rollback:1 case was bridging and 1case was single flap, no conjunctival flap desquamate. CONCLUSION: It is safe and effective to perform removal of the necrotic corneal tissue combined with conjunctival flap covering surgery under the guidance of the AS-OCT in treatment of fungal keratitis which werenot sensitive or aggravate for antifungal drugs.
文摘Maffucci syndrome is a congenital, non-hereditary mesodermal dysplasia manifested by multiple enchondromas and hemangiomas. It is associated with diverse secondary musculoskeletal deformities, which is exceedingly rare. We report a case of hemangiomas and enchondromas localized in the unilateral limb in a patient with Maffucci syndrome. Treatment consists of orthopedic and surgical intervention to minimize deformities and for cosmetic purpose. Careful surveillance for malignant degeneration of both skeletal and non-skeletal tumors, especially in the brain and abdomen, is essential.

文摘Based on current research, there are three technologies during the test of bacterial endotoxin of liposomes:(1) extraction of bacterial endotoxin from liposomes;(2) addition of bacterial endotoxin in the process of recovery test; and(3) elimination of the interference factors from drugs and excipients. In the present study, we pointed out that the key technologies to test bacterial endotoxin from paclitaxel liposome included following steps: extraction of bacterial endotoxins from ethanol-dissolved liposomes; preparation of positive control of recovery solution by adding 0.01 m L standard endotoxins in 1 m L liposome ethanol solution; and the use of 0.5% human albumin to eliminate the interference from detection, and accurate detection of the bacterial endotoxin of liposomes.

文摘AIM: To compare long-term postoperative outcomes of manual and femtosecond assisted corneal trephination in deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty(FS-DALK) for keratoconus.METHODS: In the retrospective study, 17 consecutive eyes that underwent vertical side cut incision FS-DALK and 22 eyes that underwent trephine incision DALK were collected over a 2-year period. Main measurements included postoperative uncorrected-visual acuity(UCVA), corrected distance visual acuity(CDVA), refractive sphere and cylinder, manifest refraction spherical equivalent(MRSE), flat and steep corneal keratometry(K1 and K2), endothelial cell density(ECD), and time of epithelium healing and suture removal.RESULTS: Groups were comparable for diagnosis and preoperative visual acuity. Follow-up averaged 23 mo(range, 12-36 mo). At 12 mo, the mean UCVA was better in the manual-DALK group(P=0.039), and the refractive sphere was lower in the FS-DALK group(P=0.040). MRSE between groups differed at 1, 6, and 12 mo postoperatively(P=0.047, 0.025, 0.042, respectively). Mean CDVA, cylinder, K1, K2,corneal astigmatism, ECD, and time of epithelium healing were similar between groups. Stability of MRSE, ECD, and K1 returned sooner after FS-DALK. Initial loosened suture removal time was earlier in the manual-DALK group(P=0.042) while complete suture removal time was similar(P=0.122).CONCLUSION: Manual and femtosecond assisted corneal trephination in DALK are options for advanced keratoconus. FS-DALK do not result in improved visual acuity but it is more stable during the follow-up period. FSDALK in the present form show limited benefit, so surgical design and parameters still need to be optimized and explored.

文摘Viruses can infect host plants to cause severe diseases and substantial agricultural loss, while plants have evolved RNA interference (RNAi) strategy to defend against viral infection. Despite enormous efforts, only a few host proteins in RNAi pathway were shown to mediate antiviral defense, including RNA-dependent RNA polymerase I (RDRI), RDR6, DICER-LIKE 2 (DCL2) and DCL4. In this study, we carried out a genetic screen for antiviral factors of RNAi pathway in Arabidopsis rdr6 background via inoculation with a 2b- deficient Cucumber Mosaic Virus (CMV-△2b). We identified a mutant susceptible to CMV-△2h, referred to as enhancer o ojrdr6 (enor) 3-1 rdr6, and found that ENOR3 encodes a functionally unknown protein with high homology to the mammalian Non Imprinted in Prader-Willi/Angelman (NIPA) magnesium transporters. ENOR3 inhibits accumulation of CMV-△2b and acts additively with RDR1, RDR6, DCL2 and DCL4 in antivira/ defense. These results uncover that ENOR3 is a key component in antiviral RNAi Dathwav, and provide new insights into antiviral immunity.

文摘Objective:To compare the outcomes of dynamic hip screws(DHS)and intramedullary nailing(IMN)in the treatment of extra-capsular metastatic carcinoma of the proximal femur.Methods:A retrospective case analysis method was used to examine data of patients with proximal metastatic cancer of the femur who were treated with internal fixation in Department of Orthopaedics,Beijing Friendship Hospital,from January 2007 to December 2018.Blood loss,postoperative pain,functional score,length of stay,and survival rates were compared,and postoperative complications were assessed.Results:Complete follow-up data were available for 33 patients.The mean follow-up period was 12.2±3.6(range:9-32)months and the average age was 72.3±4.7(range:59-83)years old.There were 20 females and 13 males.Twenty-three patients had undergone IMN and 10 DHS,according to bone defects and the patient’s overall condition.The median survival time was 10 months in the IMN group and 11 months in the DHS group.Duration of surgery(t=-7.366,P<0.001)and length of hospital stay(t=-3.509,P<0.001)differed significantly between the two groups.There was one case of breakage of internal fixation in the IMN group.Conclusions:There was no significant difference between DHS and IMN in terms of surgical efficacy.IMN and DHS were different in terms of surgical time and hospital stay.However,due to the limited number of cases in this study,multi-factor analysis has not been performed and needs to be further verified in future analysis.When developing a surgical plan,it is recommended to consider the patient’s condition and the surgeon’s experience.
文摘Objective: To evaluate the clinical and functional outcomes of modular endoprosthetic replacement (EPR) compared to proximal femur intramedullary nailing (IMN) for the treatment of proximal femur metastases. Methods: We retrospectively studied the records of patients with proximal femur metastatic lesions treated with surgical stabilization between January 2007 and December 2014 in terms of operation time, blood loss, postoperative score, soreness, Karnofsky performance score (KPS) and survival time. Results: There were 34 patients treated with surgical stabilization. The mean follow-up period was 12.1~8.6 months (range: 10-47 months). Thirteen were treated with EPR and 21 were stabilized with IMN (20 males, 14 females; mean age: 68.7 years). The median survival time was 11.0 months for both groups (P=0.147). The operation time, blood loss and Harris score of IMN group were lower than those of EPR group (P=0.001, P=0.001, P=0.002, respectively). Conclusions: Both EPR and IMN for treating proximal femur metastasis achieved effective clinical outcomes. Therefore, the suitable surgical methods depended on the general conditions and medical requirements of patients, as well as the technical advantages of the doctor.

文摘Background Patients who suffer comorbidity of major depressive disorder(MDD)and chronic pain(CP)maintain a complex interplay between maladaptive prospective memory(PM)and retrospective memory(RM)with physical pain,and their complications are still unknown.Aims We aimed to focus on the full cognitive performance and memory complaints in patients with MDD and CP,patients with depression without CP,and control subjects,considering the possible influence of depressed affect and chronic pain severity.Methods According to the fifth edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders and the criteria given by the International Association of Pain,a total of 124 participants were included in this cross-sectional cohort study.Among them,82 depressed inpatients and outpatients from Anhui Mental Health centre were divided into two groups:a comorbidity group(patients with MDD and CP)(n=40)and a depression group(patients with depression without CP)(n=42).Meanwhile,42 healthy controls were screened from the hospital’s physical examination centre from January 2019 to January 2022.The Hamilton Depression Rating Scale-24(HAMD-24)and Beck Depression Inventory-II(BDI-II)were used to evaluate the severity of depression.The Pain Intensity Numerical Rating Scale(PI-NRS),Short-Form McGill Pain Questionnaire-2 Chinese version(SF-MPQ-2-CN),Montreal Cognitive Assessment-Basic Section(MoCA-BC),and Prospective and Retrospective Memory Questionnaire(PRMQ)were used to assess pain-related features and the global cognitive functioning of study participants.Results The impairments in PM and RM differed remarkably among the three groups(F=7.221,p<0.001;F=7.408,p<0.001)and were severe in the comorbidity group.Spearman correlation analysis revealed the PM and RM were positively correlated with continuous pain and neuropathic pain(r=0.431,p<0.001;r=0.253,p=0.022 and r=0.415,p<0.001;r=0.247,p=0.025),respectively.Regression analysis indicated a significant positive relationship between affective descriptors and total BDI-II score(β=0.594,t=6.600,p<0.001).Examining the mediator pathways revealed the indirect role of PM and RM in patients with comorbid MDD and CP.Conclusions Patients with comorbid MDD and CP presented more PM and RM impairments than patients with MDD without CP.PM and RM are possibly mediating factors that affect the aetiology of comorbid MDD and CP.

文摘Flexoelectric effect, referring to the strain gradient induced polarization, widely exists in dielectric materials, but its molecular dynamics has not been studied so much so far. In this work, the radial distribution function of BaTiO_(3) and the phase transition temperatures have been investigated, and the results show that the core-shell potential model is effective and the structure of BaTiO_(3) is stable in a temperature range of 10 K–150 K. Molecular dynamics simulated hysteresis loops of BaTiO_(3) show that anisotropy can play an important role in the coercive field. Based on the rational simulation process,the effects of cantilever beam bent angle and fixed length on the polarization are analyzed. It is found that the small bent angle of the curved cantilever beam can give a proportional relationship with a fixed end length and a non-linear relationship is presented when the bent angle is much larger. The prediction of flexoelectric coefficient in BaTiO_(3) is 18.5 nC/m. This work provides a computational framework for the study of flexoelectric effect by using molecular dynamics.

文摘AIM:To describe the design and clinical application of a corneal donor dehydrator which can quickly dehydrate corneas and keep its original shape.METHODS:The corneal donor material is placed on stainless steel beads with different diameters in the dehydrating box to make the cornea the same shape as the steel ball.Then,the cornea is placed inside the dehydrater for rapid dehydrating using the internal cleaning and ventilation system.Totally 83 eyes underwent deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty(DALK)using corneal donor tissue preserved with corneal dehydrater,and 60 patients(60 eyes)received DALK by the same surgeon using corneal donor tissue preserved with glycerol were included in the control group.The best corrected visual acuity(BCVA),the thickness and transparency of the corneal buttons were recorded.RESULTS:After the completion of dehydrating,all the donor corneas maintained a normal shape without any shrinkage or distortion,and the average intraoperative rehydration time was 43.3±12.1 s during operation.The mean BCVA of the dehydrater group was 0.30±0.18 at 1 wk and 0.32±0.16 at 1 mo,which were statistically better than that of the control group(P<0.001).The score of corneal buttons transparency were lower than that of the control group with statistical difference(P<0.001).The thickness of corneal buttons at 1 wk and at 1 mo in the dehydrater group was significantly better than that of the control group respectively(P<0.001).One week after operation,no corneal button turbidity or edema was observed in both groups.CONCLUSION:The dehydrater can quickly dehydrate the corneal material in a clean and airtight environment and maintain the original shape of the corneal donor during the dehydrating process.This dehydrater is recommended for long-term high-quality preservation in areas where corneal materials cannot be used within a reasonable time period.

文摘The Large Sky Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopic Telescope (LAMOST) published its first data release (DR1) in 2013, which is currently the largest dataset of stellar spectra in the world. We combine the PASTEL catalog and SIMBAD radial velocities as a testing standard to validate stellar parameters (effec- tive temperature Tefr, surface gravity log g, metallicity [Fe/H] and radial velocity Vr) derived from DR1. Through cross-identification of the DR1 catalogs and the PASTEL catalog, we obtain a preliminary sample of 422 stars. After removal of stellar param- eter measurements from problematic spectra and applying effective temperature con- straints to the sample, we compare the stellar parameters from DR1 with those from PASTEL and SIMBAD to demonstrate that the DR1 results are reliable in restricted ranges of Tefr. We derive standard deviations of 110 K, 0.19 dex and 0.11 dex for Tell, log 9 and [Fe/H] respectively when Teff〈 8000 K, and 4.91 km s-1 for Vr when Teff 〈 10 000 K. Systematic errors are negligible except for those of Vr. In addition, metallicities in DR1 are systematically higher than those in PASTEL, in the range of PASTEL [Fe/H] 〈 -1.5.

文摘The zero refractive index properties of two-dimensional photonic crystals(PCs) are studied theoretically. Three necessary conditions for PCs to mimic the zero index materials(ZIMs) are obtained. In addition, through a comparative study of the properties for two representative PC structures with different types of Dirac cones, we find that the PC with a Dirac-like cone which meets the three necessary conditions does not behave as a ZIM in some cases. Further analysis shows that its non-zero index properties originate from the flat dispersion band.These findings clarify the fundamental physical issue of which type of Dirac cone PC can mimic a real ZIM.

文摘The eye,a complex organ isolated from the systemic circulation,presents significant drug delivery challenges owing to its protective mechanisms,such as the blood-retinal barrier and corneal impermeability.Conventional drug administration methods often fail to sustain therapeutic levels and may compromise patient safety and compliance.Polysaccharidebased microneedles(PSMNs)have emerged as a transformative solution for ophthalmic drug delivery.However,a comprehensive review of PSMNs in ophthalmology has not been published to date.In this review,we critically examine the synergy between polysaccharide chemistry and microneedle technology for enhancing ocular drug delivery.We provide a thorough analysis of PSMNs,summarizing the design principles,fabrication processes,and challenges addressed during fabrication,including improving patient comfort and compliance.We also describe recent advances and the performance of various PSMNs in both research and clinical scenarios.Finally,we review the current regulatory frameworks and market barriers that are relevant to the clinical and commercial advancement of PSMNs and provide a final perspective on this research area.
