Rice-fish coculture without phosphorus addition improves phosphorus availability in paddy soil by regulating phosphorus fraction partitioning and alkaline phosphomonoesterase-encoding bacterial community 被引量:2

Rice-fish coculture(RFC)has aroused extensive concern for its contribution to food security and resource conservation,but whether it can improve soil phosphorus(P)availability and affect microbe-mediated P turnover remains elusive.Herein,we conducted a microcosm experiment to assess the impacts of RFC combined with(50 mg P kg^(-1)as KH2PO4)and without inorganic P addition on P fractions,P availability,and phoD-harboring bacterial community composition.The results revealed that RFC without P addition significantly improved P availability and phosphatase activity in paddy soil,while soil available P(AP),pH,and microbial biomass P(MBP)contributed to regulating P fractions.Moreover,the phoD-harboring bacterial abundance was linked to phosphatase activity,AP,total carbon(TC),and total P(TP)contents,and the ratios of TC to total nitrogen(TN)and TN to TP.We also found that the keystone taxa of phoD-harboring bacteria contributed to phosphatase production as well as organic P mineralization,thereby improving P availability.Our findings suggest that RFC without P addition is beneficial for promoting the expression of phoD-harboring bacterial functions to improve the capacity of P mineralization.Overall,our study provides insights into the responses of phoD-harboring bacterial functions for P turnover to RFC combined with and without P addition,showing the potential utilization of P resources in agricultural soil and the contribution of phosphatase activity to P acquisition in agriculture ecosystem. 展开更多

CO_(2)-enhanced oil recovery(CO_(2)-EOR)is an economically viable carbon capture,utilization,and storage(CCUS)technique that is widely practiced and greatly contributes to the achievement of carbon-neutral cities.However,studies on CO_(2)-EOR source-sink matching involving different emission sources,different carbon capture rates,and stepwise CO_(2)pipeline construction are scarce.Considering four types of carbon sources,including coal-fired power,iron and steel,cement,and chemical plants,with different CO_(2)capture rates(85%,90%,95%,and 100%,respectively),and using a five-phased construction plan with a 25-year build-up period,we developed a method for quantifying carbon emissions from different sources,calculating the effective storage of carbon in CO_(2)-EOR and optimizing CO_(2)-EOR source-sink matching to reduce project costs.Using the Subei Basin in the Jiangsu Province,China,as a case study,we calculated the theoretical CO_(2)-EOR storage to be 1.7408×10^(8)t and the effective CO_(2)-EOR storage to be 0.435×10^(8)t.We analyzed the completion rate of transportation pipelines,the number of connected carbon sources,and the mass of CO_(2)stored,as well as the cost-effectiveness and sensitivity.Implementation of CO_(2)-EOR effectively reduced the total cost of source-sink matching in the five-stage 25-year construction approach.The reduction of CO_(2)capture rates had no effect on the value of oil repelling.The capture cost significantly affected the total cost of source-sink matching,and the impacts of the carbon sources on the total cost were in the order coal-fired power>iron and steel>cement>chemical plants.This study provides an innovative tool for evaluating the CO_(2)storage potential of CO_(2)-EOR and provides an important framework for implementing CO_(2)-EOR and planning CCUS projects in the Subei Basin and similar regions. 展开更多

The fibre-optic microwave photonic link has become one of the basic building blocks for microwave photonics.Increasing the optical power at the receiver is the best way to improve all link performance metrics including gain,noise figure and dynamic range.Even though lasers can produce and photodetectors can receive optical powers on the order of a Watt or more,the power-handling capability of optical fibres is orders-of-magnitude lower.In this paper,we propose and demonstrate the use of few-mode fibres to bridge this power-handling gap,exploiting their unique features of small acousto-optic effective area,large effective areas of optical modes,as well as orthogonality and walk-off among spatial modes.Using specially designed few-mode fibres,we demonstrate order-of-magnitude improvements in link performances for single-channel and multiplexed transmission.This work represents the first step in few-mode microwave photonics.The spatial degrees of freedom can also offer other functionalities such as large,tunable delays based on modal dispersion and wavelength-independent lossless signal combining,which are indispensable in microwave photonics. 展开更多
