A series of evaluation methods for base makeup products were developed from the perspective of materials science.The wettability of liquid foundations to water,artificial sweat and artificial sebum was measured using ...A series of evaluation methods for base makeup products were developed from the perspective of materials science.The wettability of liquid foundations to water,artificial sweat and artificial sebum was measured using a contact angle meter.The texture smoothing effect of the foundations on pore bio skin plate was examined with a three-dimensional interference microscope.The distribution and time-dependent microstructural changes of the cosmetic film on the human facial skin surface were observed using a scanning electron microscope.Additional properties of the liquid foundations,such as moisture permeability and soft-focus effect,were also quantitatively evaluated using in vitro methods.The results revealed that the tested liquid foundations exhibited satisfactory waterproof,sweat-resistant,sebum-resistant and moisture permeable properties,and could effectively reduce skin roughness and improve skin glossiness.Microscopic observation of the cosmetic film indicated that the liquid foundations could evenly distributed on the skin surface and conceal imperfections.However,phenomena such as powders aggregating,film cracking and mottling may occur over time due to sebum secretion and facial muscle movements.展开更多
