The task of prison term prediction is to predict the term of penalty based on textual fact description for a certain type of criminal case.Recent advances in deep learning frameworks inspire us to propose a two-step method to address this problem. To obtain a better understanding and more specific representation of the legal texts,we summarize a judgment model according to relevant law articles and then apply it in the extraction of case feature from judgment documents.By formalizing prison term prediction as a regression problem,we adopt the linear regression model and the neural network model to train the prison term predictor. In experiments,we construct a real-world dataset of theft case judgment documents.Experimental results demonstrate that our method can effectively extract judgment-specific case features from textual fact descriptions. The best performance of the proposed predictor is obtained with a mean absolute error of 3.2087 months, and the accuracy of 72.54%and 90.01%at the error upper bounds of three and six months, respectively. 展开更多

Antimicrobial peptides(AMPs),a class of gene-encoded peptides, are the first line of immune system to defense microbial invasions in multicellular organisms.Cathelicidins are an important family of AMPs that have been identified exclusively in vertebrates. However,up to now, cathelicidins from amphibians are poorly understood. In the present study,we reported the identification and characterization of two novel cathelicidins(FM-CATH1 and FMCATH2) from the frog Fejervarya multistriata. The c DNA sequences encoding FM-CATHs were successfully cloned from the constructed lung c DNA library of F.multistriata.Both of the c DNA sequences encoding FM-CATHs are 447 bp in length, and the deduced mature peptides of FM-CATHs are composed of 34 residues.Structural analysis indicated that FM-CATH1 and FM-CATH2 mainly assume amphipathic alpha-helical conformations.Antimicrobial and bacterial killing kinetic analysis indicated that both FM-CATH1 and FM-CATH2 possess potent,broad-spectrum and rapid antimicrobial potency. And cytoplasmic membrane permeabilization analysis indicated that FM-CATH1 and FMCATH2 kill bacteria by inducing the permeabilization of bacterial membrane.Besides direct antimicrobial activities,FM-CATHs also exhibited significant inhibitory effect on the formation of bacterial biofilms at low concentrations below 1×MIC.Furthermore,FM-CATH1 and FM-CATH2 exhibited potent anti-inflammatory activities by inhibiting LPS-induced transcription and production of pro-inflammatory cytokines TNF-α,IL-1β,and IL-6 in mouse peritoneal macrophages.Meanwhile,FM-CATHs showed relatively low cytotoxic activity against mammalian normal and tumor cell lines, and low hemolytic activity against human erythrocytes. In summary, the identification of FM-CATHs provides novel clues for our understanding of the roles of cathelicidins in amphibian immune systems. The potent antimicrobial, biofilm inhibitory,anti-inflammatory activities, and low cytotoxicity of FM-CATHs imply their great potential in novel antibiotics development. 展开更多

BGP monitors are currently the main data resource of AS-level topology measurement, and the integrity of measurement result is limited to the location of such BGP monitors. However, there is currently no work to conduct a comprehensive study of the range of measurement results for a single BGP monitor. In this paper,we take the first step to describe the observed topology of each BGP monitor. To that end,we first investigate the construction and theoretical up-limit of the measured topology of a BGP monitor based on the valley-free model, then we evaluate the individual parts of the measured topology by comparing such theoretical results with the actually observed data.We find that:1)for more than 90%of the monitors, the actually observed peer-peer links merely takes a small part of all theoretical visible links;2)increasing the BGP monitors in the same AS may improve the measurement result, but with limited improvement;and 3)deploying multiple BGP monitors in different ASs can significantly improve the measurement results, but non-local BGP monitors can hardly replace the local AS BGP monitors. We also propose a metric for monitor selection optimization, and prove its effectiveness with experiment evaluation. 展开更多

Odorrana margaretae (Anura: Ranidae) is widely distributed in the southern provinces of China. Previously, 72 antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) belonging to 21 families were identified from the skin of O. margaretae, which were captured in the Hunan province. In the present study, five O. margaretae frogs were captured from the Guizhou province and a total of 28 cDNAs encoding 17 host defense peptides (HDPs) belonging to 14 families were cloned from the skin cDNA library of O. margaretae. Among the 17 HDPs, only one (brevinin-1-Omar5) had been characterized. The distinct HDP expression profiles for O. margaretae in the previous and present study may be attributed to the environmental differences between the sampling locations and the genetic divergence among O. margaretae populations. Besides, 11 of the 17 HDPs identified in the present study were novel for ranids. In order to understand their roles in host defense reactions, three HDPs (odorranain-H-OM1, odorranain-M-OM and ranatuerin-2-OM), which possess low sequence similarity with the known amphibian HDPs, were selected for further chemical synthesis and functional analysis. Odorranain-H-OM1 showed direct antimicrobial activity against bacteria and fungi. Odorranain-M-OM exhibited concentration-dependent anti-oxidant activity. Ranatuerin-2-OM showed lectin-like activity and could strongly hemagglu -tinate human intact erythrocytes with or without the presence of Ca2+. The diverse activities of HDPs implied that they may play different roles in host defense reactions of O. margaretae. 展开更多

Cloud computing plays an important role in today’s Internet environment, which meets the requirements of scalability, security and reliability by using virtualization technologies.Container technology is one of the two mainstream virtualization solutions. Its lightweight, high deployment efficiency make container technology widely used in large-scale cloud computing. While container technology has created huge benefits for cloud service providers and tenants,it cannot meet the requirements of security monitoring and management from a tenant perspective.Currently, tenants can only run their security monitors in the target container, but it is not secure because the attacker is able to detect and compromise the security monitor. In this paper,a secure external monitoring approach is proposed to monitor target containers in another management container. The management container is transparent for target containers, but it can obtain the executing information of target containers, providing a secure monitoring environment.Security monitors running inside management containers are secure for the cloud host, since the management containers are not privileged. We implement the transparent external management containers by performing the one-way isolation of processes and files. For process one-way isolation,we leverage Linux namespace technology to let management container become the parent of target containers.By mounting the file system of target container to that of the management container, file system one-way isolation is achieved.Compared with the existing host-based monitoring approach, our approach is more secure and suitable in the cloud environment. 展开更多

Road networks have been used in a wide range of applications to reduces the cost of transportation and improve the quality of related services. The shortest road distance computation has been considered as one of the most fundamental operations of road networks computation. To alleviate privacy concerns about location privacy leaks during road distance computation,it is desirable to have a secure and efficient road distance computation approach. In this paper,we propose two secure road distance computation approaches, which can compute road distance over encrypted data efficiently. An approximate road distance computation approach is designed by using Partially Homomorphic Encryption and road network set embedding. An exact road distance computation is built by using Somewhat Homomorphic Encryption and road network hypercube embedding. We implement our two road distance computation approaches, and evaluate them on the real cityscale road network.Evaluation results show that our approaches are accurate and efficient. 展开更多
