Methods: The demographics data, clinical manifestations, and laboratory indicators of cases diagnosed with IANE and influenza with febrile convulsions (FS), respectively, admitted to Guangzhou Women and Children’s Medical Center from January 2016 to January 2020 were retrospectively analyzed. Results: Among the 25 cases of IANE, there were 9 males and 16 females, aged 3 to 6 years. The mortality rate was 40.00% (10/25). Influenza virus type A in 9 cases (36.00%) and influenza virus type B in 10 cases (40.00%). The main clinical manifestations of children with IANE were acute disorders of consciousness (64.00%, 16/25) and convulsions (72.00%, 18/25), which were statistically significant when compared with the FS group (P < 0.05). Typical changes on cranial MRI of IANE were cerebral edema, typically with symmetric necrosis of the thalamus and other brain structures. Significant differences (P < 0.05) existed between the IANE and FS groups in laboratory indicators for ALT, AST, CK-MB, LDH, cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) microprotein, CSF LDH, which were above the normal reference range. In addition, logistic regression analysis showed that LDH ≥ 348.5 U/L predicted a significantly higher risk of IANE. Conclusions: Children with influenza present early with acute impairment of consciousness or convulsive seizures, or with elevated AST, ALT, CK-MB, LDH, and CSF protein and CSF LDH, especially if blood LDH is ≥348.5 U/L, should be closely evaluated and alerted to the possibility of IANE.展开更多

Influencing factors were analyzed, and correlation analyses wereperformed.RESULTSA total of 483 elderly cancer patients successfully completed the study. The prevalence of LS and StD amongparticipants was 56.5% and 38.7%, respectively. Logistic regression analysis identified age, tumor metastasis, exercise habits, and the presence of StD as significant risk factors for LS in elderly cancer patients. Additionally, having three or more chronic diseases and LS were significant predictors for developing StD. Spearman’s correlationanalysis revealed a significant positive correlation between LS and StD (r = 0.424, P < 0.001).CONCLUSIONElderly cancer patients exhibit a high prevalence of LS and StD, conditions which are positively correlated andmutually influential. Thus, it is critical to monitor and address pre-depressive states while evaluating and managingmotor function in this population.展开更多

文摘In worldwide, the use of chemical pesticides to protect wood has been greatly restricted. In recent years,a large number of researchers devoted to the search for natural, safe and non-polluting bioactive chemical compounds from plants as an alternative to synthetic organic chemical preservative. In Chinese folk, tung oil can be used as paint for wooden furniture to protect them from pests. This study aimed to evaluate the chemical compositions of raw and heated tung oil and their activity against termite. In choice bioassays, weight loss of wood treated with 5%raw or heated tung oil after 4 weeks was significantly less than that of the control group. In no-choice bioassays, there was a significant difference in termite survival and wood weight loss on raw and heated tung oil-treated wood. When tung oil-treatment concentrations increased to 5%,wood weight loss was less than 10%.There was no significant difference in termite survival and wood weight loss between raw and heated tung oil-treated wood.Survival of termites in both tung oil wood treatments was significantly lower than that in the starvation control after 4 weeks.Raw and heated tung oil significantly improved the resistance of pine wood to termites, and have the potential for the development of natural wood preservatives.

文摘This study investigates the mechanical response of an underground cavern subjected to cyclic high gas pressure, aiming to establish a theoretical foundation for the design of lined rock caverns(LRCs)for energy storage with high internal pressure,e.g.compressed air energy storage(CAES)underground caverns or hydrogen storage caverns.Initially, the stress paths of the surrounding rock during the excavation, pressurization, and depressurization processes are delineated.Analytical expressions for the stress and deformation of the surrounding rock are derived based on the MohreCoulomb criterion. These expressions are then employed to evaluate the displacement of cavern walls under varying qualities of surrounding rock, the contact pressure between the steel lining and the surrounding rock subject to different gas storage pressures, the load-bearing ratio of the surrounding rock, and the impact of lining thickness on the critical gas pressure.Furthermore, the deformation paths of the surrounding rock are evaluated, along with the effects of tunnel depth and diameter on residual deformation of the surrounding rock, and the critical minimum gas pressure at which the surrounding rock and the lining do not detach. The results indicate that residual deformation of the surrounding rock occurs after depressurization under higher internal pressure for higher-quality rock masses, leading to detachment between the surrounding rock and the steel lining. The findings indicate that thicker linings correspond to higher critical minimum gas pressures. However, for lower-quality surrounding rock, thicker linings correspond to lower critical minimum gas pressures. These findings will provide invaluable insights for the design of LRCs for underground energy storage caverns.

文摘Existing single-pixel imaging(SPI)and sensing techniques suffer from poor reconstruction quality and heavy computation cost, limiting their widespread application. To tackle these challenges,we propose a large-scale single-pixel imaging and sensing(SPIS)technique that enables high-quality megapixel SPI and highly efficient image-free sensing with a low sampling rate.Specifically,we first scan and sample the entire scene using small-size optimized patterns to obtain information-coupled measurements.Compared with the conventional full-sized patterns,small-sized optimized patterns achieve higher imaging fidelity and sensing accuracy with 1 order of magnitude fewer pattern parameters.Next, the coupled measurements are processed through a transformer-based encoder to extract high-dimensional features, followed by a task-specific plugand-play decoder for imaging or image-free sensing.Considering that the regions with rich textures and edges are more difficult to reconstruct,we use an uncertainty-driven self-adaptive loss function to reinforce the network’s attention to these regions, thereby improving the imaging and sensing performance.Extensive experiments demonstrate that the reported technique achieves 24.13 dB megapixel SPI at a sampling rate of 3%within 1 s.In terms of sensing,it outperforms existing methods by 12%on image-free segmentation accuracy and achieves state-of-the-art image-free object detection accuracy with an order of magnitude less data bandwidth.

文摘Coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)is a multi-system disease that can lead to various severe complications.Acute limb ischemia(ALI)has been increasingly recognized as a COVID-19-associated complication that often predicts a poor prognosis. However, the pathophysiology and molecular mechanisms underlying COVID-19-associated ALI remain poorly understood.Hypercoagulability and thrombosis are considered important mechanisms, but we also emphasize the roles of vasospasm, hypoxia, and acidosis in the pathogenesis of the disease. The angiotensin-converting enzyme 2(ACE2)pathway,inflammation,and platelet activation may be important molecular mechanisms underlying these pathological changes induced by COVID-19.Furthermore,we discuss the hypotheses of risk factors for COVID-19-associated ALI from genetic, age, and gender perspectives based on our analysis of molecular mechanisms.Additionally,we summarize therapeutic approaches such as use of the interleukin-6(IL-6)blocker tocilizumab, calcium channel blockers, and angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors, providing insights for the future treatment of coronavirus-associated limb ischemic diseases.

文摘Human activities are closely related to geological environments or those influenced by geological factors, which can significantly impact human health.Previous studies have predominantly focused on isolated spheres or single environmental indicators, lacking research on the multifactorial influences affecting the overall geographic environment. From the“One Health”perspective, this paper synthesizes natural environmental factors across the lithosphere, hydrosphere, atmosphere, and pedosphere, encompassing the sources, forms, concentrations, and bioavailability of chemical elements,as well as pollutants and their associations with human health.Comprehensive natural environmental factors, based on GeoHealth, are intimately connected to human health.Under the pressures of future population growth and rapid industrial development, the relationship between the global geological environment and human health will become increasingly prominent. Therefore,it is crucial to pay close attention to health-based thresholds and promptly implement pollution prevention and control measures.
文摘By comparing price plans offered by several retail energy firms, end users with smart meters and controllers may optimize their energy use cost portfolios, due to the growth of deregulated retail power markets. To help smart grid end-users decrease power payment and usage unhappiness, this article suggests a decision system based on reinforcement learning to aid with electricity price plan selection. An enhanced state-based Markov decision process(MDP)without transition probabilities simulates the decision issue.A Kernel approximate-integrated batch Q-learning approach is used to tackle the given issue.Several adjustments to the sampling and data representation are made to increase the computational and prediction performance.Using a continuous high-dimensional state space, the suggested approach can uncover the underlying characteristics of time-varying pricing schemes.Without knowing anything regarding the market environment in advance, the best decision-making policy may be learned via case studies that use data from actual historical price plans.Experiments show that the suggested decision approach may reduce cost and energy usage dissatisfaction by using user data to build an accurate prediction strategy. In this research,we look at how smart city energy planners rely on precise load forecasts. It presents a hybrid method that extracts associated characteristics to improve accuracy in residential power consumption forecasts using machine learning(ML).It is possible to measure the precision of forecasts with the use of loss functions with the RMSE.This research presents a methodology for estimating smart home energy usage in response to the growing interest in explainable artificial intelligence(XAI).Using Shapley Additive explanations(SHAP)approaches, this strategy makes it easy for consumers to comprehend their energy use trends. To predict future energy use,the study employs gradient boosting in conjunction with long short-term memory neural networks.

文摘BACKGROUND Studies have shown that locomotive syndrome(LS)is significantly correlated with adverse outcomes, such as decreased self-care abilities, fractures, and increased mortality.Subthreshold depression(StD)is considered an independent predictor of clinical depression, regarded as its prodromal stage, and even linked to increased mortality risk.Limited research has addressed the prevalence and relationship between LS and StD in elderly cancer patients.Understanding the prevalence of LS and StD among elderly cancer patients and elucidating their relationship will provide evidence to support the development of targeted interventions, thereby improving health outcomes in this population.AIM To investigate the relationship between musculoskeletal system function and predepressive states in elderly cancer patients.METHODS A convenience sampling method was employed to recruit 500 elderly cancer patients undergoing follow-up visits at the Department of Oncology,Affiliated Hospital of Jiangnan University, from April 2024 to December 2024.Participants completed the general information questionnaire, the 25-question Geriatric Locomotive Function Scale, and theGeriatric Depression Scale-Short Form-15. Thus, it is critical to monitor and address pre-depressive states while evaluating and managingmotor function in this population.

文摘Tunnel surrounding rock(TSR)deformation exhibits time-and space-dependent behavior, making it challenging for a single prediction model to capture these characteristics over extended periods.Utilizing 8 years of TSR deformation data from the Beishan exploration tunnel(BET)test platform, the metaheuristic algorithm crested porcupine optimizer(CPO)was applied for the first time to optimize the time series of TSR deformation, and an integrated model incorporating convolutional neural network(CNN),long short-term memory network(LSTM),and attention mechanism(ATT)was proposed. This model integrates the strong feature extraction capabilities of CNN,the superior sequence prediction performance of LSTM,and the effective attention mechanism of ATT.The results show that during blasting excavation, the internal displacement of TSR exhibits a stepwise change pattern. After excavation, the internal displacement enters a phase of gradual increase, ultimately reaching a stable convergence stage. The CPO-CNN-LSTM-ATT(CPO-CLA)integrated model demonstrated excellent predictive accuracy and stability across various evaluation metrics, achieving a determination coefficient(R2)of 0.985.Compared to the CNN-LSTM-ATT(CLA)model,the CPO-CLA model showed a 14.1%increase in R2,a 61.5%decrease in root mean square error(RMSE),and a 72.9%decrease in mean absolute error(MAE).In comparison with current mainstream metaheuristic integrated models, the CPO-CLA model is better suited for predicting long-term TSR deformation. It offers high computational efficiency, accurate predictions, and expertise in optimizing large datasets.

文摘Prostate cancer is the second most common cancer in men, accounting for 14.1%of new cancer cases in 2020.The aggressiveness of prostate cancer is highly variable, depending on its grade and stage at the time of diagnosis.Despite recent advances in prostate cancer treatment, some patients still experience recurrence or even progression after undergoing radical treatment.Accurate initial staging and monitoring for recurrence determine patient management, which in turn affect patient prognosis and survival.Classical imaging has limitations in the diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer, but the use of novel molecular probes has improved the detection rate, specificity, and accuracy of prostate cancer detection.Molecular probe-based imaging modalities allow the visualization and quantitative measurement of biological processes at the molecular and cellular levels in living systems. An increased understanding of tumor biology of prostate cancer and the discovery of new tumor biomarkers have allowed the exploration of additional molecular probe targets. The development of novel ligands and advances in nano-based delivery technologies have accelerated the research and development of molecular probes. Here,we summarize the use of molecular probes in positron emission tomography(PET),single-photon emission computed tomography(SPECT),magnetic resonance imaging(MRI),optical imaging, and ultrasound imaging, and provide a brief overview of important target molecules in prostate cancer.

文摘Although manganese-based oxide is regarded as a promising cathode material for zincion hybrid supercapacitors(ZHSCs),its practical application is hindered by slow zinc ion diffusion and the instability of MnO_(2).To overcome this obstacle,a δ-MnO_(2)/MXene heterostructure was created using a simple one-step process under gentle condition. The ZHSC was assembled using this heterostructure as the cathode, activated carbon(AC)as the anode and 2 mol·L−1 ZnSO_(4) as the electrolyte. The resultingδ-MnO_(2)/MXene//ZnSO4//AC ZHSC shows a maximum specific capacitance of 97.4 F·g^(−1) and an energy density of 32.27 Wh·kg^(−1) at the best cathode-to-anode mass ratio.Ex situ characterizations reveal the reversible energy storage mechanism combing Zn^(2+)insertion/extraction in the cathode, ion adsorption and desorption on the anode surface, and partial reversible formation and dissolution of Zn_(4)SO_(4)(OH)_(6)·5H_(2)O(ZHS)components on both electrodes.Adding of Mn^(2+)to the electrolyte reduced Mn dissolution, improving the ZHSC’s specific capacitance and energy density to 140.4 F·g^(−1) and 49.36 Wh·kg^(−1),respectively,while also enhancing its rate performance and cyclability. The improved electrochemical reaction kinetics was verified through various tests. The results suggest that the δ-MnO_(2)/MXene heterostructure has great potential as a high-performance cathode material for ZHSCs.

文摘The wrist joint is a highly mobile functional joint.Wrist conditions including traumatic and degenerative arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and giant cell tumors of the distal radius, cause significant pain and mobility impairment. In joint surgery, the decision to use joint prostheses to reconstruct joint function is greatly in-fluenced by the characteristics of the prosthesis(Mok et al.,2016).However,traditional implants have limi-tations such as shape mismatch, inadequate implant-bone interface strength which causes loosening, and poor bone ingrowth(Zhang et al.,2014)
