Li-Fraumeni syndrome(LFS),a rare autosomal-dominant inheritance condition,is associated with a family cancer history as well as pathogenic/likely-pathogenic TP53 germline variants(P/LP TP53 GV).The current clinical methods for detecting LFS are limited.Here,we retrospectively investigate P/LP TP53 GV among Chinese cancer patients by next-generation sequencing and evaluate its relationship with a family cancer history.A total of 270 out of 19,226 cancer patients have TP53 GV,including 53 patients with P/LP TP53 GV.Patients with P/LP TP53 GV are mainly found in male with glioma,lung cancer or sarcoma.The median age of diagnosis for P/LP TP53 GV patients is significantly lower than that of non-P/LP TP53 GV patients(31-years vs.53-years;P<0.01).One LFS patient and 3 Li-Fraumeni-like syndrome(LFL)patients are among the 26 followed-up P/LP TP53 GV patients.Among 25 types of P/LP TP53 GV,the highest variant frequencies occurred at codon 175 and 248.p.M237 I,p.R158 H,p.C238 Y and p.C275 R,are firstly identified among the Chinese LFS/LFL patients.This study reports the(P/LP)TP53 GV characteristics of Chinese pan-cancer patients.These findings suggest analyzing the P/LP TP53 GV in cancer patients is an effective strategy for identifying cancer predisposition syndrome. 展开更多

Employing magnetic resonance diffusion tensor imaging, three-dimensional white-matter imaging and conventional magnetic resonance imaging can demonstrate the tumor parenchyma, peritumoral edema and compression on surrounding brain tissue. A color-coded tensor map and three-dimensional tracer diagram were applied to clearly display the optic-radiation location, course and damage. Results showed that the altered anisotropy values of meningioma patients corresponded with optic-radiation shape, size and position on both sides. Experimental findings indicate that the magnetic resonance diffusion tensor imaging technique is a means of tracing and clearly visualizing the optic radiation. 展开更多

A novel calculation strategy for optimized prediction of the reduction of electrochemical window at anode

The reduction of the electrochemical window(EW)of electrolytes plays a significant role in assessing their compatibility with the anode in lithium-ion batteries.However,the accurate calculation of the reduction of EW is still challenging due to missing the solvation effects,condensation effects,kinetic factors,and the passivation on anodes.The theoretical prediction of the intrinsic and apparent EW is confirmed by a comprehensive experimental analysis of ethylene carbonatedimethyl carbonate(EC-DMC)electrolytes,combining linear sweep voltammetry(LSV)and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC-MS).The proposed novel kinetic normal distribution theory model can quantitatively explain the current density from LSV and affirm acetaldehyde(MeCHO)as one of the primary reduction products of EC.The solvent effect restricts the intrinsic EW of EC-DMC without lithium salt to 2.6 V(vs.Li^(+)/Li)arising from the Marcus-Gerischer theory and the passivation of MeCHO on the anode broadens the apparent EW to 0.3 V(vs.Li^(+)/Li)arising from the normal distribution of the lowest unoccupied molecular orbital(LUMO)for MeCHO produced by thermal motion.In addition,the passivation on the anode depends intensively on the lithium salt,resulting in more complicated influences on the apparent EW. 展开更多

Histopathology plays a great role in diagnosing various diseases,which is considered as a golden standard for tumor identification.The tissue constituents must be stained by visible labels for microscopic analysis by medical experts.However,this process is time-consuming,labor-intensive,and expensive,which requires rapid pathological approaches for diagnosis in the operating room.Here,we present an easy-to-process and high-performance perovskite biological probes for rapid and visual pathological diagnosis of glioma.Perovskite quantum dots can be encapsulated by the copolymer into nanocrystals(PNCs)with a diameter of 100 nm,which is modified with chlorotoxin to achieve the specific recognition of glioma.Benefiting from the super photoluminescence quantum yield(above 93%)of EVA@PNCs aqueous solution,the glioma can be clearly imaged and captured via a smartphone under the excitation of a handheld UV lamp.To demonstrate the visualization and efficiency of PNC probes,different malignant grades of brain tumor sections can be distinguished in no more than 5 min.This strategy provides a general auxiliary diagnosis platform for achieving the histopathology analysis near the operating bed,which is currently not feasible with standard histochemical staining methods. 展开更多
