Microwave ablation(MWA)is a minimally invasive technique for treating hepatic tumors,necessitating precise monitoring to ensure treatment efficacy and minimize damage to surrounding tissues.This study explores the potential of photoacoustic imaging(PAI)in monitoring MWA by examining ex vivo porcine liver tissues.In this study,a comprehensive analysis of photoacoustic signals was performed to compare the main lobe width(MLW)between ablated and normal regions in porcine liver tissue.Histological staining with succinate dehydrogenase(SDH)and shear wave elastography(SWE)were employed to validate the changes in tissue elasticity after ablation.The analysis demonstrated a notable reduction in the MLW of the average A-lines in ablated tissues compared to nonablated regions(p<0.01).This reduction,attributed to increased tissue density and enhanced elasticity,indicates accelerated sound propagation in thermally ablated areas,which then serves as a critical parameter for mapping tissue characteristics.The reconstruction of the MLW distribution successfully delineated the ablated regions,and was consistent with the results of SDH staining and SWE.In addition,MLW-based imaging exhibited higher spatial resolution compared to SWE.Incorporating MLW analysis into PAI may be a promising strategy to improve the accuracy and effectiveness of MWA monitoring in clinical settings. 展开更多

TiFe alloys are AB-based hydrogen storage materials with unique characteristics and a wide range of applications.However,the presence of impurity gases(such as O_(2),CO,CO_(2),and CH4)has a considerable impact on the hydrogen storage capacity and kinetics of TiFe alloys,drastically limiting their practical application in hydrogen storage.Consequently,in this study,we investigated the hydrogen absorption kinetics and cycling performance of the TiFe_(0.9) alloy in the presence of common impurity gases(including CH4,CO,CO_(2),and O_(2))and determined the corresponding poisoning mechanisms.Specifically,we found that CH4 did not react with the alloy but acted through physical coverage.In contrast,CO and CO_(2) occupy the active sites for H_(2),significantly impeding the dissociation and absorption of H_(2).In addition,O_(2) reacts directly with the alloy to form a passivating layer that prevents hydrogen absorption.These findings were fur-ther corroborated by in situ Fourier transform infrared spectrometry(FTIR)and density functional theory(DFT).The relationship between the adsorption energies of the impurity gases and hydrogen obtained through DFT calculations complements the experimental results.Un-derstanding these poisoning behaviors is crucial for designing Ti-based high-entropy hydrogen storage alloy alloys with enhanced resist-ance to poisoning. 展开更多

High-capacity LiBH_(4)is a promising solid hydrogen storage material.However,the large electron cloud density between the B-H bonds in LiBH_(4)induces high dehydrogenation temperatures and sluggish dehydrogenation kinetics.To solve the above problems,it is proposed to enhance the hydrogen storage properties of LiBH_(4)through the synergistic effect of Brønsted and Lewis acid in Hβzeolite.Composite hydrogen storage systems with different mass ratios were prepared by simple ball-milling.At a LiBH_(4)-to-Hβmass ratio of 6:4,the 6LiBH_(4)-4Hβsystem released hydrogen at 190℃and achieved a hydrogen release capacity of 7.0 wt%H_(2)upon heating to 400℃.More importantly,the hydrogen release capacity of the system reached 6.02 wt%at 350℃under isothermal conditions after 100 min and 7.2 wt%at 400℃under isothermal conditions after 80 min,whereas the pristine LiBH_(4)only achieved 2.2 wt%.The improvement in hydrogen storage performance of the system was mainly attributed to two factors:(i)Lewis acid sites with acceptable electrons in the Hβweaken the electron density of B-H bonds in LiBH_(4),and(ii)the H+proton from the Brønsted acid sites and H−of LiBH_(4)undergo a H^(+)+H^(−)=H_(2)reaction.Theoretical calculations revealed that the Lewis and Brønsted acid sites in the Hβzeolite are conducive to the weakening of B-H bonds and that storage charge transfer occurs near the Lewis acid sites.The present work provides new insights into improving the hydrogen storage performance of LiBH_(4)by weakening the B-H bonds in the LiBH_(4). 展开更多

[Objectives] To investigate the species diversity of wood-decaying fungi in karst regions of southwest China. [Methods] The karst core regions of southwest China, specifically Guizhou, Guangxi, and Yunnan, were investigated for the first time to analyze the species diversity characteristics of wood-decaying fungi in this area. This analysis was conducted through a comprehensive 5-year field investigation and systematic identification process. [Results] The wood-decaying fungi exhibited a distinctive species composition and distribution pattern within karst habitats, encompassing significant groups such as Polyporaceae and Hymenochaetaceae. Furthermore, these fungi demonstrated varying functional characteristics across the two ecological types of standing tree decay and wood decay. It was observed that wood-decaying fungi had a significant impact on the material cycle within karst ecosystems by degrading lignin and cellulose. Furthermore, the distribution of species diversity was closely associated with the characteristics of karst geomorphology and the types of vegetation. [Conclusions] This study not only addresses the lack of background data regarding wood-decaying fungi resources in karst regions, but also elucidates the maintenance mechanisms of fragile ecosystems from the perspective of decomposers. It provides a scientific foundation for biodiversity conservation, the prevention and control of forest diseases, and sustainable ecological management in karst regions. 展开更多

A simple, economical, and sensitive capillary electrophoresis (CE) method integrated with capacitively coupled contactless conductivity detection was developed for the determination of metal ions such as K<sup>+</sup>, Na<sup>+</sup>, Mg<sup>2+</sup>, Sr<sup>2+</sup>, Ca<sup>2+</sup> in drinking water. 18-Crown-6 ether and Hexadecyltrimethylammonium Bromide (CTAB) were employed as complexing reagents. The effects of electrolyte additives, citric acid buffer solution, and other separation conditions of CE were comprehensively investigated and carefully optimized. The best results were obtained in a running buffer solution composed of citric acid (12 mM), 18-crown-6 ether (0.2 mM), and CTAB (0.015 mM) at pH 3.5. Under these conditions, a complete separation of five metal ions was successfully achieved in less than 12 min. The limits of detection for the optimal procedure were determined to be in the range of 0.02 - 0.2 mg·L<sup>-1</sup>. The repeatability with respect to migration times and peak areas, expressed as relative standard deviations, was better than 2.3% and 5.1%, respectively. Evaluation of the efficiency of the methodology indicated that it was reliable for the determination of metal ions in six different brands of drinking water samples. 展开更多

The EXL-50U is China’s first large spherical torus device with a toroidal field reaching 1 T.The major radius of the EXL-50U ranges from 0.6 m to 0.8 m,with an aspect ratio of 1.4−1.8.The goal of plasma current in the first experimental phase is 500 kA,and in the future second phase,the goal of plasma current is 1 MA.On the EXL-50U project,the ENN fusion team expeditiously accomplished a series of comprehensive tasks including physical and engineering design,main component construction installation,and system commissioning,all within a mere eighteen-month timeframe.In the experiments of 2024,the EXL-50U achieved a 500 kA limiter configuration discharge using ECRH(Electron Cyclotron Resonance Heating)for non-inductive current start-up and a current ramp-up with the synergetic effect of ECRH and central solenoid(CS).Preliminary divertor configuration plasmas were also obtained under 200 kA plasma current.The core ion temperature of 1 keV was achieved with low-power NBI heating,and the energy confinement time of 30 ms was reached with Ohmic heating in the flat-top phase.The current and future experiments of EXL-50U will strongly support the physical design and operational scenarios of EHL-2 in the areas of current drive,high ion temperature exploration,energy transport and confinement,and hydrogen-boron physical characteristics.At the same time,the experience in the design,construction,and commissioning of the engineering,heating,and diagnostics systems on EXL-50U is also very beneficial for enhancing the feasibility of the engineering design for EHL-2. 展开更多

At present economic benefit evaluation system of the UHV power grid is driving to maturity stage on the whole at home and abroad, but it invariably tends to regard social benefits as part of economic benefits, without evaluating social benefit separately. The social benefit evaluation model of UHV power grid is built in case of sufficient investigation. The differentials between social benefit and social cost are calculated respectively by three kinds of solutions according to the constructed social cost evaluation index system and social benefits evaluation index system, conclusion that UHV power grid transmission has better social benefits can be reached by contrastively analyzing the social three kinds of solutions corresponding to benefits. At last, the evaluation model and method are verified and analyzed through the analysis of engineering projects. 展开更多

Calcium phosphate(CaP) coatings were prepared on Mg–8Li–2Ca magnesium alloy by micro-arc oxidation(MAO) in an alkaline Na_3PO_4–Ca[C_3H_7O_6P] base solution at the different applied voltages. Scanning electron microscope and X-ray diffraction were employed to characterize the microstructure and phase composition of the coatings, respectively. The corrosion resistance of the coatings was assessed by potential dynamic polarization curves, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and hydrogen evolution experiment in simulated body fluids solution. The friction and wear properties were evaluated by friction and wear testing machine. The results demonstrate that the coating surface is porous and mainly composed of MgO, Ca_5(PO_4)_3(OH) and CaH_2P_2O_5. With the increase in voltage, the corrosion resistance and wear resistance of the MAO coating are both enhanced. The corrosion current density of the MAO coating decreases about two orders of the magnitude compared to the substrate. Additionally, wear and corrosion mechanisms are discussed. 展开更多

Background:Oral cancer is a common type of head and neck cancers.Knowing its epidemiologic characteristics is crucial to preventing,diagnosing,and treating this cancer.This study aimed to explore the epidemiologic characteristics of oral cancer in South China.Methods:We retrospectively analyzed data from 4097 oral cancer patients treated at the Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center between 1960 and 2013.We compared the age of onset,sex ratio,pathologic type,and primary tumor location among three subcultural areas(Guangfu,Hakka,and Chaoshan) and between an economically developed region and a less-developed one in Guangdong.Results:Overall,oral cancer had a male-to-female ratio of approximately 2:1,and this ratio decreased over time.Oral cancer occurred mostly in patients of 45-64 years old(54.5%),and the percentage of older patients gradually increased over time.The most common tumor location was the tongue.Squamous cell carcinoma was the predominant pathologic type.The percentage of blood type O in oral cancer patients was lower than that in the healthy population.The male-to-female ratio in the Chaoshan area was higher than that in the Guangfu and Hakka areas,whereas the age of disease onset in Guangfu was higher than that in Hakka and Chaoshan.The male-to-female ratio was lower and the age of disease onset was higher in the economically developed region than in the less-developed region.Conclusion:The incidence of oral cancer in South China presents typical characteristics to which doctors should pay attention when diagnosing and treating oral cancer patients. 展开更多

A dual-scale hybrid HfB_(2)/Cu-Hf composite with HfB_(2) microparticles and Cu_(5) Hf nanoprecipitates was designed and prepared.The contribution of the hybrid effect to the mechanical properties and high-temperature performances was studied from macro and micro perspectives,respectively.The hybrid of dual-scale particles can make the strain distribution of the composite at the early deformation stage more uniform and delay the strain concentration caused by the HfB_(2) particle.The dislocation pinning of HfB_(2) particles and the coherent strengthening of Cu_(5) Hf nanoprecipitates simultaneously play a strengthening role,but the strength of the hybrid composite is not a simple superposition of two strengthening mod-els.In addition,both Cu_(5) Hf nanoprecipitates and HfB_(2) microparticles contribute to the high-temperature performance of the composite,the growth and phase transition of nanoprecipitates at high temperature will reduce their contribution to strength,while the stable HfB_(2) particles can inhibit the coarsening of matrix grains and maintain the high-density geometrically necessary dislocations(GNDs)in the matrix,which ensures more excellent high-temperature resistance of the hybrid composite.As a result,the hy-brid structure can simultaneously possess the advantages of multiple reinforcements and make up for the shortcomings of each other.Finally,a copper matrix composite with high strength,high conductivity,and excellent high-temperature performance is displayed. 展开更多

Objective Cuproptosis is a novel cell death pathway that was newly discovered in early 2022.However,cuproptosis is still in its infancy in many respects and warrants further research in hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).This study aimed to analyze the mechanism of cuprptosis in HCC.Methods Herein,the tumor microenvironment infiltration landscape of molecular subtypes was illustrated using GSVA,ssGSEA,TIMER,CIBERSORT,and ESTIMATE algorithms based on the expression profile of cuproptosis-related genes(CRGs)from TCGA and GEO databases.Then,the least absolute shrinkage and selection operator regression method was applied to construct a cuproptosis signature to quantify the cuproptosis profile of HCC.Further,we explored the expression of three hub CRGs in cell lines and clinical patient tissues of HCC by Western blotting,qRT-PCR and immunohistochemistry.Finally,we examined the function of dihydrolipoamide S-acetyltransferase(DLAT)in cuproptosis in HCC by loss-of-function strategy,Western blotting and CCK8 assay.Results Three distinct molecular subtypes were identified.Cluster 2 had the greatest infiltration of immune cells with best prognosis.The cuproptosis signature was indicative of tumor subtype,immunity,and prognosis for HCC,and specifically,a low cuproptosis score foreshadowed good prognosis.DLAT was highly expressed in liver cancer cell lines and HCC tissues and positively correlated with clinical stage and grade.We also found that potent copper ionophore elesclomol could induce cuproptosis in a copper-dependent manner.Selective Cu^(++)chelator ammonium tetrathiomolybdate and downregulating DLAT expression by siRNA could effectively inhibit cuproptosis.Conclusion Cuproptosis and DLAT as a promising biomarker could help to determine the prognosis of HCC and may offer novel insights for effective treatment. 展开更多

Abnormal effects in GPS broadcast ephemerides can have a significant effect on real-time navigation and positioning solutions that use the orbit and clock error data provided by GPS broadcast ephemerides.This paper describes three types of non-integerhour navigation data in GPS broadcast ephemeris data.Compared with GPST integer hour data,we find that there are two types of data blocks for non-integer-hour navigation containing gross errors with different levels of precision,which is reflected in the user range accuracy(URA)of the broadcast ephemeris.These gross errors can cause large deviations when using the GPS broadcast ephemeris for orbit calculation and lead to a decrease in the kinematic positioning accuracy.An improved weighting method which is based on the consistency relationship between the URA value and the orbital precision is proposed to improve the positioning accuracy by controlling the effect of gross errors in the broadcast ephemerides.The correction algorithm proposed in this paper was applied to real-time kinematic positioning with shipborne GPS data over the South China Sea.The results showed that the proposed positioning algorithm can effectively reduce the effects of gross errors in the broadcast ephemeris,and significantly improve the accuracy of the navigation and positioning. 展开更多

Salt stress is an abiotic stress to plants in especially saline lakes.Dunaliella,a halophilic microalga distributed throughout salt lakes and seas,can respond to different salinity stresses by regulating the expression of some genes.However,these genes and their function and biological processes involved remain unclear.Profi ling these salt-stress-related genes in a high-salt-tolerant Dunaliella species will help clarify the salt tolerance machinery of Dunaliella.Three D.salina_YC salt-stress groups were tested under low(0.51 mol/L),moderate(1.03 mol/L),and high(3.42 mol/L)NaCl concentrations and one control group under very low(0.05 mol/L)NaCl concentration and 3 transcriptome results that were deep sequenced and de novo assembled were obtained per group.Twelve high-quality RNA-seq libraries with 46585 upregulated and 47805 downregulated unigenes were found.Relative to the control,188 common differentially expressed genes(DEGs)were screened and divided into four clusters in expression pattern.Fifteen of them annotated in the significant enriched Gene Ontology(GO)and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes(KEGG)were validated via qPCR.Their qPCR-based relative expression patterns were similar to their RNA-seq-based patterns.Two significant DEGs,the geranylgeranyl diphosphate synthase coding gene(1876-bp cDNA)and diacylglycerol O-acyltransferase coding gene(2968-bp cDNA),were cloned and analyzed in silico.The total lipid content,superoxide dismutase specific activity,and betacarotene content of D.salina_YC increased gradually with increasing salinity.In addition,the expression of 11 validated genes involved in fatty acid biosynthesis/degradation,active oxygen or carotenoid metabolisms showed significant changes.In addition,algal photochemical efficiency was diminished with increasing salinity,as well as the expression of 4 photosynthesis-related genes.These results could help clarify the molecular mechanisms underlying D.salina responses to the Yuncheng Salt Lake environment and lay a foundation for further utilization of this algal resource. 展开更多

Sm extraction from a LiCl-KCl melt was carried out by forming alloys on various electrodes,including Al,Ni,Cu,and liquid Zn,and the electrochemical behaviors of the resultant metal products were investigated using different electrochemical techniques.While Sm metal deposition via the conventional two-step reaction process was not noted on the inert electrode,underpotential deposition was observed on the reactive electrodes because of the latter's depolarization effect.The depolarization effects of the reactive electrodes on Sm showed the order Zn>Al>Ni>Cu.Sm-M(M=Al,Ni,Cu,Zn)alloys were deposited by galvanostatic and potentiostatic electrolysis.The products were fully characterized by X-ray diffractometry(XRD)and scanning electron microscopy(SEM)-energy dispersive spectrometry(EDS),and the stability of the obtained M-rich compounds was determined.Finally,the relationship between the electrode potential and type of Sm-M intermetallic compounds formed was assessed on the basis of the observed electrochemical properties and electrodeposits. 展开更多

Due to the unique structure of perovskite materials,their capacitance can be improved by introducing oxygen vacancy.In this paper,the LaMnO3-δ material containing oxygen vacancy was synthesized by molten salt method in KNO3-NaNO3-NaNO2 melt.The La-Mn-O crystal grows gradually in molten salt with the increase of temperature.It was confirmed that LaMnO3-δ with perovskite structure and incomplete oxygen content were synthesized by molten salt method and presented a three-dimensional shape.LaMnO3-δ stores energy by redox reaction and adsorption of OH-in electrolyte simultaneously.In comparison with the stoichiometric LaMnO3 prepared by the sol-gel method,LaMnO3-δ prepared by molten salt method proffered higher capacitance and better performance.The galvanostatic charge-discharge curve showed specific capacitance of 973.5 F/g under current density of 1 A/g in 6 M KOH.The capacitance of LaMn03-δ was 82.7%under condition of 5 A/g compared with the capacitance at the current of 1A/g,and the specific capacitances of 648.0 and 310.0 F/g were obtained after 2000 and 5000 cycles of galvanostatic charging-discharging,respectively.Molten salt synthesis method is relatively simple and suitable for industrial scale,presenting a promising prospect in the synthesis of perovskite oxide materials. 展开更多

Layered P2–Na_(2/3)Ni_(1/3)Mn_(2/3)O_2 is a promising cathode material. It exhibits a high capacity and suitable operating voltage and undergoes a phase transition from P2 to O2 during charge/discharge.Researchers have used Ti substitution to improve the cathode, yet the chemical principles that underpin elemental substitution and functional improvement remain unclear. To clarify these principles, we used in situ Raman spectroscopy to monitor chemical changes in P2–Na2/3 Ni1/3 Mn1/3 Ti1/3 O2 and P2–Na_(2/3)Ni_(1/3)Mn_(2/3)O_2 during charge/discharge. Based on the change in the A_(1g) and E_g peaks during charge/discharge, we concluded that Ti substitution compressed the transition metal layer and expanded the planar oxygen layer in the unit cell. Titanium stabilized the P2 phase structure, which improved the cycling stability of P2–NaNMT. Our results provide clear theoretical support for future research on modifying electrodes by elemental substitution. 展开更多
