The experimental results are compared with computational results. The linear potential theory and the perturbation method are combined to study this complicated system. The former is used to calculate the wave forces acting on the plates and the motion responses of them, while the latter is used to describe the dynamic character of the eight mooring lines coupled with the two hinged plates. Some response results of each plate are presented and comparisons between calculated results and experimental data are given. All the calculations are confined to regular beam waves.展开更多

Forty-two biopsies from patients with gennital CA and 30 control tissue samples were tested for telomerase activity, HPV presence and types. The telomerase activity was determined by modified telomerase repeat amplification protocol (TRAP) assay and HPV typing by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) with typing-specific primers. Results showed that HPV-DNA was negative and the expression rate of telomerase was 16.7 % in all normal skin samples. All CA samples were positive for HPV (6/11 type was found in 32 cases, 16/18 in 3 and mixed type in 7). Telomerase activity was detectable in all CA patients. The telomerase activity in CA of 16/18 type was apparently higher than in CA of 6/11 type. It was concluded that the hyperplasia in CA might be increased as a result of HPV infection, suggesting that the activation of telomerase by HPV, especially by 16/18 type may play a role in the etiology and carcinogenesis of genital CA.展开更多

As a reduction, the well-known MKdV equation is obtained. It is shown that the hierarchy of equations is integrable in Liouville' s sense and possesses Bi-Hamiltonian structure. Under the constraint between the potentials and eigenfunctions, the eigenvalue problem can be nonlinearized as a finite dimensional completely integrable system.展开更多

The problem was reduced to a Hilbert problem, and then closed-form expressions were obtained, respectively, far the complex potentials in piezoelectric media, the electric field inside the inclusion and the tip fields near the inclusion. it is shown that in the media, all field variables near the inclusion-tip show square root singularity and oscillatory singularity, the intensity of which is dependent on the material constants and the strains at infinity. In addition, it is found that the electric field inside the inclusion is singular and oscillatory too, when approaching the inclusion-tips from inside the inclusion.展开更多

First, the crack problem of two-dimensional quasi-crystals was decomposed into a plane strain state problem superposed on anti-plane state problem and secondly, by introducing stress functions, the 18 basic elasticity equations on coupling phonon-phason field of decagonal quasicrystals were reduced to a single higher- order partial differential equations. The solution of this equation under mixed boundary conditions of mode-Ⅱ Griffith crack was obtained in terms of Fourier transform and dual integral equations methods. All components of stresses and displacements can be expressed by elemental functions and the stress intensity factor and the strain energy release rate were determined.展开更多

The main purpose of the virtual grid is to effectively treat the geometry of the crossed facial planes at the interface, and to convert a solid wall boundary condition into an interface condition, however, no fluid flow computations are conducted within the virtual grid. Navier Stokes computations were performed for transonic flow over a clipped delta wing with control surface, and the computed results compare well with the experimental data.展开更多
