W...Ameloblastomas are benign dental tumors, constituting 15% of oral neoplasms, most frequent odontogenic tumor of the jaw. Patient presenting at a late stage usually presents with large swelling with facial deformity. We present a case of 50 years old male who presented with recurrent ameloblastoma on the left side of the mandible causing facial disfigurement and functional impairment. Adequate removal of the tumor required hemimandibulectomy and intermaxillary fixation was done without any bony reconstruction. We would like to focus on the excellent postoperative result with regard to facial symmetry and functional improvement obtained in this case, though the available management protocols differ and are more advanced in current scenario. This case report gives hope and guidance to the surgeons who face difficulty in managing the deforming benign bony tumors due to the unavailability of facility and funds to reconstruct.展开更多

It usually presents with hoarseness of voice to an otolaryngologist. A sits clinical appearance mimics an early laryngeal cancer. It remains a diagnostic challenge to the clinician. It is essential to differentiate a primary laryngeal amyloidosis from malignancy to have a holistic approach towards the management of the disease. Here in this article, a case is reported in order to have a better outlook about this rare condition and to differentiate it from laryngeal malignancy for an effective management and cure.展开更多

There are various surgical methods described in the literature for the removal of Antrochoanal pol...The general rule to follow in nasal pathology is to intervene “as extensive as required and as limited as possible”. There are various surgical methods described in the literature for the removal of Antrochoanal polyp that are refractory to medical treatment. However, these methods fail to restore and maintain the optimal physiology of the nose thus reducing the quality of life post operatively. Here in this article, we describe a relatively easy, safe and cost effective method of complete removal of the Antrochoanal polyp with the use of simple rubber catheters. It negates the need for sophisticated instruments and also helps in restoring the physiological function of the nose effectively as the nasal mucosa is left undisturbed.展开更多
