A near-infrared fluorescent probe based on Au^(3+)/Pd^(2+)complexes for glutathione sensing:Applications in acute liver injury,hepatocellular carcinoma,and ferroptosis exploration

Liver diseases,particularly acute alcoholic liver injury(AALI),drug-induced liver injury(DILI),and hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC),have become global public health issues.Glutathione(GSH),as an important antioxidant,plays a crucial role in the liver,and its changes are closely associated with liver injury and the development of liver cancer.Therefore,accurately monitoring GSH variations is critical for understanding liver injury mechanisms,early diagnosis,and treatment evaluation.However,traditional detection methods suffer from insufficient sensitivity and selectivity.To address these challenges,we developed an innovative DR-Au^(3+)/DR-Pd^(2+)complex probe that can rapidly and sensitively detect GSH through near-infrared(NIR)fluorescence changes.This probe,with the optimal excitation and emission wavelengths of the probe both located in the NIR region,exhibits excellent selectivity and liver-targeting ability,overcoming the imprecision localization problems of traditional methods.In the AALI and DILI models,the optimized DR-Au^(3+)probe enables real-time monitoring of GSH level fluctuations,providing a powerful tool for early diagnosis of liver injury and dynamic evaluation of therapeutic efficacy.In the DILI and HCC models,the DR-Au^(3+)probe enables visualization and quantitative monitoring of the ferroptosis process,offering new perspectives and approaches for targeted therapy research.The DR-Au^(3+)probe we developed pioneers innovative strategies for establishing accurate diagnostic protocols and individualized therapeutic regimens in hepatic injury and hepatocellular carcinoma management. 展开更多

Red emissive carbon dots(CDs)are highly desired for biological applications.However,serious luminescence quenching of red emissive CDs in aqueous solution greatly hinders their application in high performance biological imaging.Herein,we reported a facile strategy to realize enhanced red emission of CDs in aqueous solution by surface modification with polyetherimide(PEI)via microwave heating method.High photoluminescence quantum yield(PLQY)of 25%was realized from the PEI functionalized CDs(CDs@PEI)in aqueous solution.The proposed PEI functionalization strategy not only protects the red emission against water molecules quenching,but also reverses the surface charges from negativity to positivity to promote cellular uptake of CDs,leading to clear cell imaging in red fluorescence region.More important,CDs@PEI exhibits much better photostability than commercial red emissive dye(MitoT racker red)in cell fluorescent imaging.Potential application of CDs@PEI on fast staining of cells for clonogenic assay has also been demonstrated. 展开更多

In this study,we examine the effects of the transformation of accounting firms’organizational form on audit quality.We find that the transformation from limited liability to limited liability partnerships has a significant negative effect on the absolute value of discretionary accruals of audited companies.In particular,the transformation has a significant negative effect on positive discretionary accruals and no effect on negative discretionary accruals.We also find that CPAs are more likely to issue modified audit opinions in the year after the transformation,and that there is no evidence that accounting firm size and listed company ownership influence the relationship between the transformation and audit quality.Our conclusions provide empirical evidence for policy makers and enrich the literature on accounting firms’organizational forms. 展开更多

To analyze theeffects of factors such as travel demand and electricity priceson user behavior, a logit discrete choice model is introducedto simulate the users decisions to charge/travel. Based on aquasi-steady-state traffic network, a model for cluster electricvehicles considering the user’s behavior is designed to obtain theprobability distribution of the user’s behavior and the chargeand discharge curves of cluster EVs under various scenarios. Thevalidity of the proposed model is verified using an IEEE 9-nodetraffic network case and an urban traffic network case.
