Modified constraint-induced movement therapy alters synaptic plasticity of rat contralateral hippocampus following middle cerebral artery occlusion 被引量:23

Modified constraint-induced movement therapy is an effective treatment for neurological and motor impairments in patients with stroke by increasing the use of their affected limb and limiting the contralateral limb.However,the molecular mechanism underlying its efficacy remains unclear.In this study,a middle cerebral artery occlusion(MCAO)rat model was produced by the suture method.Rats received modified constraint-induced movement therapy 1 hour a day for 14 consecutive days,starting from the 7^th day after middle cerebral artery occlusion.Day 1 of treatment lasted for 10 minutes at 2r/min,day 2 for 20 minutes at 2 r/min,and from day 3 onward for 20 minutes at 4 r/min.CatWalk gait analysis,adhesive removal test,and Y-maze test were used to investigate motor function,sensory function as well as cognitive function in rodent animals from the 1st day before MCAO to the 21^st day after MCAO.On the 21^st day after MCAO,the neurotransmitter receptor-related genes from both contralateral and ipsilateral hippocampi were tested by micro-array and then verified by western blot assay.The glutamate related receptor was shown by transmission electron microscopy and the glutamate content was determined by high-performance liquid chromatography.The results of behavior tests showed that modified constraint-induced movement therapy promoted motor and sensory functional recovery in the middle cerebral artery-occluded rats,but had no effect on cognitive function.The modified constraint-induced movement therapy upregulated the expression of glutamate ionotropic receptor AMPA type subunit 3(Gria3)in the hippocampus and downregulated the expression of the beta3-adrenergic receptor gene Adrb3 and arginine vasopressin receptor 1 A,Avprla in the middle cerebral artery-occluded rats.In the ipsilateral hippocampus,only Adra2 a was downregulated,and there was no significant change in Gria3.Transmission electron microscopy revealed a denser distribution the more distribution of postsynaptic glutamate receptor 2/3,which is an a-amino-3-hydroxy-5-methyl-4-isoxazole-propionic acid receptor,within 240 nm of the postsynaptic density in the contralateral cornu ammonis 3 region.The size and distribution of the synaptic vesicles within 100 nm of the presynaptic active zone were unchanged.Western blot analysis showed that modified constraint-induced movement therapy also increased the expression of glutamate receptor 2/3 and brain-derived neurotrophic factor in the hippocampus of rats with middle cerebral artery occlusion,but had no effect on Synapsin I levels.Besides,we also found modified constraint-induced movement therapy effectively reduced glutamate content in the contralateral hippocampus.This study demonstrated that modified constraint-induced movement therapy is an effective rehabilitation therapy in middle cerebral artery-occluded rats,and suggests that these positive effects occur via the upregulation of the postsynaptic membrane a-amino-3-hydroxy-5-methyl-4-isoxazole-propionic acid receptor expression.This study was approved by the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee of Fudan University,China(approval No.201802173 S)on March 3,2018. 展开更多

Motor function impairment is a common outcome of stroke.Constraint-induced movement therapy(CIMT)involving intensive use of the impaired limb while restraining the unaffected limb is widely used to overcome the effects of'learned non-use'and improve limb function after stroke.However,the underlying mechanism of CIMT remains unclear.In the present study,rats were randomly divided into a middle cerebral artery occlusion(model)group,a CIMT+model(CIMT)group,or a sham group.Restriction of the affected limb by plaster cast was performed in the CIMT and sham groups.Compared with the model group,CIMT significantly improved the forelimb functional performance in rats.By western blot assay,the expression of phosphorylated extracellular regulated protein kinase in the bilateral cortex and hippocampi of cerebral ischemic rats in the CIMT group was significantly lower than that in the model group,and was similar to sham group levels.These data suggest that functional recovery after CIMT may be related to decreased expression of phosphorylated extracellular regulated protein kinase in the bilateral cortex and hippocampi. 展开更多

Nitrate addition is a common bio-competitive exclusion(BCE)method to mitigate corrosion in produced water reinjection systems,which can aff ect microbial community compositions,especially nitrate and sulfate reducing bacteria,but its eff ectiveness is in controversy.We investigated the infl uence of nitrate concentrations on EH40 steel corrosion aff ected by coexistence of Desulfovibrio vulgaris and Pseudomonas aeruginosa bacteria.Results demonstrate that only mixed bacteria or nitrate had little eff ect on EH40 steel corrosion,and nitrate could accelerate the corrosion of EH40 steel through the action of microorganisms.The corrosion promotion of nitrate was dependent on its concentrations,which increased from 0 to 5 g/L and decreased from 5 to 50 g/L.These diff erences were believed to be related to the regulation of nitrate in the growth of bacteria and biofi lms.Therefore,care must be taken to BCE method with nitrate when nitrate reducing bacteria with high corrosive activity are present in the environments. 展开更多

Objective To identify the status of knowledge,attitude,and behaviour toward evidence-based practice(EBP)among Chinese psychiatric nurses,and to examine the influencing factors of EBP behaviour.Methods We utilised a cross-sectional design.A total of 923 psychiatric nurses from 168 hospitals in 27 provinces in the mainland of China participated in our survey.The EBP questionnaire,the barriers to research utilisation scale and the facilitators to research utilisation scale were used for data collection via WeChat group from July 2018 to April 2019.Multiple regression analysis was used to analyse the influencing factors of psychiatric nurses’evidence-based practice behaviour.Results The score of Chinese psychiatric nurses’EBP attitude,behaviour and knowledge were 4.81±1.34,4.11±1.36 and 3.53±1.29,respectively.Multiple regression analysis showed that nurses’EBP behaviour was mainly determined by knowledge and attitude,which together explained 61.8%of the variance.The two top barriers were the dimensions of presentation and research.Facilitators include managerial support,employing nurses with research skills as models and providing advanced education on evidence-based nursing.Conclusion Psychiatric nurses have positive attitudes toward EBP,but their level of knowledge and behaviour is insufficient.Heavy workload,insufficient time,and a lack of knowledge and skills is the main barrier.Managerial support,employing nurses with research skills as models and providing advanced education are the main facilitators. 展开更多

Pipeline defect detection systems collect the videos from cameras of pipeline robots,however the systems always analyzed these videos by offline systems or humans to detect the defects of potential security threats.The existing systems tend to reach the limit in terms of data access anywhere,access security and video processing on cloud.There is in need of studying on a pipeline defect detection cloud system for automatic pipeline inspection.In this paper,we deploy the framework of a cloud based pipeline defect detection system,including the user management module,pipeline robot control module,system service module,and defect detection module.In the system,we use a role encryption scheme for video collection,data uploading,and access security,and propose a hybrid information method for defect detection.The experimental results show that our approach is a scalable and efficient defection detection cloud system. 展开更多

High-efficiency reflection phase tunable metasurface at near-infrared frequencies

The realization of active modulation of reflection phase based on metasurfaces is of great significance for flexible control of electromagnetic wavefront,which makes metasurfaces have practical application values in polarization conversion,beam steering,metalens,etc.In this paper,a reflection phase tunable gap-surface plasmon(GSP)metasurface based on phase change materials Ge_(2)Sb_(2)Te_(5)(GST)is designed and experimentally demonstrated.By virtue of the characteristics of large permittivities difference before and after GST phase transition and the existence of stable intermediate states,the continuous modulation of near-infrared reflection phase larger than 200°has been realized.At the same time,through the reasonable design of the structure sizes,the reflection has been maintained at about 0.4 and basically does not change with the GST phase transition,which improved the working efficiency of the metasurface significantly.In addition,the coupled-mode theory(CMT)is introduced to make a full analysis of the modulation mechanism of the reflection phase,which proves that the phase transition of GST can induce the transition of metasurface working state from overcoupling mode to critical coupling mode.The improvement of the metasurface working efficiency has practical values for wavefront modulation. 展开更多

Objective:To explore the effects of two types of surgical approaches,spontaneous ventilation single-port thoracoscopy and conventional thoracoscopy,on T lymphocyte subsets and inflammatory factors in patients with non-small cell lung cancer.Methods:Fifty-eight patients with non-small cell lung cancer who underwent surgery in the Affiliated Hospital of Hebei University from January 2020 to December 2021 were selected as the study subjects.All of them underwent standard lobectomy and lymph node dissection.Among them,32 patients who underwent spontaneous ventilation single-port thoracoscopy were included in the study group,while 26 patients who underwent conventional thoracoscopy were included in the control group.The perioperative related indices,lung function,immune factor levels,and inflammatory factor levels were compared between the two groups.Results:In the study group,the perioperative incision length,intraoperative blood loss,operation time,and number of lymph node dissections were 4.28±2.01,77.89±12.02,87.21±16.11,and 20.69±4.45,respectively.In the control group,the perioperative incision length,intraoperative blood loss,operation time,and number of lymph node dissections were 6.32±2.45,84.98±16.98,95.88±14.89,and 21.45±4.36,respectively.There was no statistical difference between the study group and the control group in the number of lymph node dissections and intraoperative blood loss;the lung function in the study group was significantly better than that in the control group;the levels of T cell subsets CD4+,CD8+,CD4+/CD8+,CD16+CD56+of the study group were 46.36±5.87,30.98±4.12,1.19±0.23,and 17.41±6.25,respectively,while those in the control group were 35.78±4.12,34.14±3.87,1.04±0.24,and 12.45±5.56,respectively;the levels of immunoglobulin IgG,IgM,and IgA of the study group were 10.45±2.14,1.21±0.24,and 1.26±0.25,respectively,while those of the control group were 8.78±1.78,1.06±0.12,and 1.06±0.26,respectively,with statistical differences;the levels of CRP,IL-6,IL-8,and TNF-αof the control group were 21.87±4.26,98.01±9.58,111.03±9.96,and 123.05±9.77,respectively,while those of the study group were 19.47±3.89,89.12±8.96,104.32±9.12,and 112.98±9.16,respectively,in which the comparison was statistically significant.Conclusion:In the surgical treatment of non-small cell lung cancer,spontaneous ventilation single-port thoracoscopic surgery has several advantages,which include less trauma and bleeding.It reduces the impact of surgical trauma on the immune function of the body,improves the postoperative lung function and inflammatory stress of the body,as well as accelerates the recovery of patients.It is an alternative to open lung lobectomy for the treatment of lung cancer. 展开更多

鳤(Ochetobius elongatus)曾经是我国许多河流的重要经济鱼类,然而由于环境污染和人为干扰等原因,鳤的资源量萎缩严重,种群处于极度濒危的境地。目前,常规采样方法获得鳤样本的难度较大,致使相关研究难以开展。本研究通过仔鱼采集和成... 鳤(Ochetobius elongatus)曾经是我国许多河流的重要经济鱼类,然而由于环境污染和人为干扰等原因,鳤的资源量萎缩严重,种群处于极度濒危的境地。目前,常规采样方法获得鳤样本的难度较大,致使相关研究难以开展。本研究通过仔鱼采集和成鱼采集的手段,测定两个线粒体基因和两个核基因,对西江中下游鳤的遗传多样性和种群动态历史进行研究。结果显示,西江中下游鳤的遗传多样性处于较低水平并且出现了衰退的迹象,可能经历了遗传瓶颈效应。此外,种群动态历史分析发现,西江中下游鳤在后更新世期间(0.06和0.13百万年前)经历了种群扩张,刚好处于中更新世(0.78–0.126百万年前)冰期褪去之后,表明更新世气候的波动影响了西江中下游鳤的种群动态。作为鳤可能的重要产卵场,西江中下游部分江段可以考虑建立鳤的自然保护区,用于保育和修复鳤的种质资源。 展开更多

We report a high-throughput approach to generating lanthanide-doped upconversion nanoparticle(UCNP)arrays through polymer pen lithography(PPL),where instead of the expensive block co-polymer,two types of polymers are employed with one working as ink carrier,e.g.,polyethylene glycol-400(PEG-400)to facilitate smooth transfer from the tip to the substrate and the other,e.g.,polyvinyl pyrrolidone(PVP),as chelator to ensure successful patterning of metal ions.The strong coordination of PVP with rare earth ions(RE^(3+))is the key for weakening the interaction between RE3+ions and the carrier PEG-400 so that the good mobility of ink can be retained.Further experimental results have shown that besides PVP,small molecules with functional groups that can coordinate with RE^(3+)ions,such as oleic acid,can also serve the same role as PVP,which greatly enriches the ink library for PPL.Over 1 cm^(2)area arrays comprising individual UCNP can be reliably generated with characteristic upconversion luminescence.This strategy not only allows reliable production of individual UCNP arrays,it also paves new avenue to the precise synthesis of multifunctional NPs for lasing,imaging,encryption,and anticounterfeiting. 展开更多

Detecting the underground disease is very crucial for the roadbed health monitoring and maintenance of transport facilities,since it is very closely related to the structural health and reliability with the rapid development of road traffic.Ground penetrating radar(GPR)is widely used to detect road and underground diseases.However,it is still a challenging task due to data access anywhere,transmission security and data processing on cloud.Cloud computing can provide scalable and powerful technologies for large-scale storage,processing and dissemination of GPR data.Combined with cloud computing and radar detection technology,it is possible to locate the underground disease quickly and accurately.This paper deploys the framework of a ground disease detection system based on cloud computing and proposes an attention region convolution neural network for object detection in the GPR images.Experimental results of the precision and recall metrics show that the proposed approach is more efficient than traditional objection detection method in ground disease detection of cloud based system. 展开更多

Floating gate memory devices based on two-dimensional materials hold tremendous potential for high-performance nonvolatile memory.However,the memory performance of the devices utilizing the same two-dimensional heterostructures exhibits significant differences from lab to lab,which is often attributed to variations in material thickness or interface quality without a detailed exploration.Such uncontrollable performance coupled with an insufficient understanding of the underlying working mechanism hinders the advancement of high-performance floating gate memory.Here,we report controllable and stable memory performance in floating gate memory devices through device structure design under precisely identical conditions.For the first time,the general differences in polarity and on/off ratio of the memory window caused by distinct structural features have been revealed and the underlying working mechanisms were clearly elucidated.Moreover,controllable tunneling paths that are responsible for two-terminal memory performance have also been demonstrated.The findings provide a general and reliable strategy for polarity control and performance optimization of two-dimensional floating gate memory devices. 展开更多

With the advent of the“Big Data Era”,improving data storage density and computation speed has become more and more urgent due to the rapid growth in different types of data.Flash memory with a floating gate(FG)structure is attracting great attention owing to its advantages of miniaturization,low power consumption and reli-able data storage,which is very effective in solving the problems of large data capacity and high integration density.Meanwhile,the FG memory with charge storage principle can simulate synaptic plasticity perfectly,breaking the traditional von Neumann computing ar-chitecture and can be used as an artificial synapse for neuromorphic computations inspired by the human brain.Among many candidate materials for manufacturing devices,van der Waals(vdW)materials have attracted widespread attention due to their atomic thickness,high mobility,and sustainable miniaturization properties.Owing to the arbitrary stacking ability,vdW heterostructure combines rich physics and potential 3D integration,opening up various possibilities for new functional integrated devices with low power consumption and flexible applications.This paper provides a comprehensive review of memory devices based on vdW materials with FG structure,including the working principles and typical structures of FG structure devices,with a focus on the introduction of various highperformance FG memories and their versatile applications in neuro-morphic computing.Finally,the challenges of neuromorphic devices based on FG structures are also discussed.This review will shed light on the design and fabrication of vdW material-based memory devices with FG engineering,helping to promote the development of practical and promising neuromorphic computing. 展开更多

Scene segmentation is widely used in autonomous driving for environmental perception.Semantic scene segmentation has gained considerable attention owing to its rich semantic information.It assigns labels to the pixels in an image,thereby enabling automatic image labeling.Current approaches are based mainly on convolutional neural networks(CNN),however,they rely on numerous labels.Therefore,the use of a small amount of labeled data to achieve semantic segmentation has become increasingly important.In this study,we developed a domain adaptation framework based on optimal transport(OT)and an attention mechanism to address this issue.Specifically,we first generated the output space via a CNN owing to its superior of feature representation.Second,we utilized OT to achieve a more robust alignment of the source and target domains in the output space,where the OT plan defined a well attention mechanism to improve the adaptation of the model.In particular,the OT reduced the number of network parameters and made the network more interpretable.Third,to better describe the multiscale properties of the features,we constructed a multiscale segmentation network to perform domain adaptation.Finally,to verify the performance of the proposed method,we conducted an experiment to compare the proposed method with three benchmark and four SOTA methods using three scene datasets.The mean intersection-over-union(mIOU)was significantly improved,and visualization results under multiple domain adaptation scenarios also show that the proposed method performed better than semantic segmentation methods. 展开更多

Action recognition is an important research topic in video analysis that remains very challenging.Effective recognition relies on learning a good representation of both spatial information(for appearance)and temporal information(for motion).These two kinds of information are highly correlated but have quite different properties,leading to unsatisfying results of both connecting independent models(e.g.,CNN-LSTM)and direct unbiased co-modeling(e.g.,3DCNN).Besides,a long-lasting tradition on this task with deep learning models is to just use 8 or 16 consecutive frames as input,making it hard to extract discriminative motion features.In this work,we propose a novel network structure called ResLNet(Deep Residual LSTM network),which can take longer inputs(e.g.,of 64 frames)and have convolutions collaborate with LSTM more effectively under the residual structure to learn better spatial-temporal representations than ever without the cost of extra computations with the proposed embedded variable stride convolution.The superiority of this proposal and its ablation study are shown on the three most popular benchmark datasets:Kinetics,HMDB51,and UCF101.The proposed network could be adopted for various features,such as RGB and optical flow.Due to the limitation of the computation power of our experiment equipment and the real-time requirement,the proposed network is tested on the RGB only and shows great performance. 展开更多

San Wei Tan Xiang(SWTX)capsule has been proved to have significant curative effect on depression in clinic and have less side effects in the treatment.Based on network pharmacology,the mechanism of depression treatment by SWTX capsule was studied.The related targets of depression were collected in the GeneCards database.The active ingredients and potential target genes of SWTX were screened out in the TCMSP database,and the chemical formulas of the active ingredients were confirmed in the PubChem database.As a result,Oleic,quercetin,and beta-sitosterol were screened to be the main ingredients correlated with depression.And NCOA2,GABRA1,and RXRA were analyzed to be the main targets of SWTX on depression.Moreover,the results of molecular docking showed that Oleic and quercetin successfully docked with RXRA.Taken together,using the method of network pharmacology,the main active ingredients of SWTX,and its target points and related pathways on depression are initially revealed,which provides a new idea for depression treatment. 展开更多
