Wearable sensors are pivotal for point-of-care diagnostics,yet their application in extreme conditions is rarely conducted.In this work,we present a wearable pH sensor using tungsten oxide aerogel(TOA)as the sensing material.With the advantages of large specific surface area,high porosity and interconnected network structures,TOA not only provides excellent pH sensing performance but also demonstrates remarkable structural and sensing stability.The potentiometric pH sensor exhibits a high sensitivity(−63.70 mV/pH),a low detectable limit(0.05)and a superior stability(maintained over 50,000 s).Integrated with a Bluetooth module,the wearable sensor achieves non-invasive and real-time pH monitoring on the human skin with minimal deviation(1.91%)compared to the commercial pH meter.More importantly,the anti-impact behaviors of the TOA-based sensing materials and chip,along with the pH wearable sensor on a pig exhibit an outstanding shock-resistance ability,with variations no more than 7.17%under an impact of 118.38 kPa.Therefore,this study shows great promise for the aerogel-based personalized health management in the extreme environment. 展开更多

Whether hydraulic fractures could connect multiple gas zones in the vertical plane is the key to fracturing treatment to jointly exploit coalbed methane and tight sandstone gas through integrative hydraulic fracturing in tight sandstone–coal interbedded formations. Laboratory true triaxial hydraulic fracturing experiments were conducted on layered specimens with di erent combination types of natural sandstone and coal to simulate the propagation behavior of hydraulic fractures. The effects of the fracture initiation position, fracturing fluid viscosity and injection rate were discussed. The results showed that di erent fracture morphologies could be found. When initiating from coal seams, three patterns of fracture initiation and propagation were obtained:(1) The main hydraulic fracture initiated and propagated along the natural fractures and then diverged due to the effects of in situ stress and formed secondary fractures.(2) The hydraulic fracture initiated and propagated in the direction of the maximum horizontal stress.(3) Multiple fractures initiated and propagated at the same time. With the same fracturing fluid viscosity and injection rate, the hydraulic fractures initiating in sandstones had greater chances than those in coal seams to penetrate interfaces and enter neighboring layers. Excessively small or large fracturing fluid viscosity and injection rate would do harm to the vertical extension height of the induced fracture and improvement of the stimulated reservoir volume. Compared with operation parameters(fracturing fluid viscosity and injection rate), the natural weak planes in coals were considered to be the key factor that a ected the fracture propagation path. The experimental results would make some contributions to the development of tight sandstone–coal interbedded reservoirs. 展开更多

The short allele of the serotonin-transporter gene is associated with higher risk for anxiety and depression in Caucasians, but this association is still unclear in Asians. Here, we addressed this issue using behavioral and multi-modal MRI approaches in a large group of healthy Han Chinese participants (n = 233). In contrast to findings in Caucasians, we found that long-allele (L) carriers had higher anxiety scores. In another group (n = 64) experiencing significant levels of depression or anxiety, the L-allele frequency was also significantly higher. In healthy participants, L-carriers had reduced functional and anatomical connectivity between the amygdala and prefrontal cortex (PFC), which was correlated with anxiety or depression scores. Our findings demonstrated that in Chinese Han participants, in contrast to Caucasians, the L-allele confers vulnerability to anxiety or depression and weakens top-down emotional control between the PFC and amygdala. Therefore, ethnic background should be taken into account in gene-related studies and their potential clinical applications. 展开更多

An important and unresolved question is how human brain regions process information and interact with each other in intertemporal choice related to gains and losses. Using psychophysiological interaction and dynamic causal modeling analyses, we investigated the functional interactions between regions involved in the decision- making process while participants performed temporal discounting tasks in both the gains and losses domains. We found two distinct intrinsic valuation systems underlying temporal discounting in the gains and losses domains: gains were specifically evaluated in the medial regions, including the medial prefrontal and orbitofrontal cortices, and losses were evaluated in the lateral dorsolateral prefrontal cortex. In addition, immediate reward or pun- ishment was found to modulate the functional interactions between the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex and distinct regions in both the gains and losses domains: in the gains domain, the mesolimbic regions; in the losses domain, the medial prefrontal cortex, anterior cingulate cortex, and insula. These findings suggest that intertemporal choice of gains and losses might involve distinct valuation systems, and more importantly, separate neural interactions may implement the intertemporal choices of gains and losses. These findings may provide a new biological perspective for understanding the neural mechanisms underlying intertemporal choice of gains and losses. 展开更多

Optimization of fracturing perforation is of great importance to the commingling gas production in coal measure strata.In this paper,a 3 D lattice algorithm hydraulic fracturing simulator was employed to study the effects of perforation position and length on hydraulic fracture propagation in coal measures of the Lin-Xing block,China.Based on field data,three lithologic combinations are simulated:1)a thick section of coal seam sandwiched by sandstones;2)a thin coal seam layer overlay by gas-bearing tight sandstone;3)two coal seams separated by a thin layer of sandstone.Our simulation shows that perforation position and length in multi-layer reservoirs play a major role in hydraulic fracture propagation.Achieving maximum stimulated volume requires consideration of lithologic sequence,coal seam thickness,stress states,and rock properties.To improve the combined gas production in coal measure strata,it is possible to simultaneously stimulate multiple coal seams or adjacent gas-bearing sandstones.In these cases,perforation location and length also significantly impact fracture propagation,and therefore should be carefully designed.Our simulation results using 3 D lattice algorithm are qualitatively consistent with laboratory physical simulation.3 D lattice models can be used to effectively simulate the fracture propagation through layers in coal measure strata.The numerical results provide guidance for perforation optimization in the hydraulic fracturing of coal measure strata. 展开更多

Background:Cervical cancer is the sixth most common cancer in Chinese women.A standard treatment modal?ity for cervical cancer is the combination of surgery,chemotherapy,external?beam radiotherapy and intracavitary brachytherapy.The aim of this study was to retrospectively assess the long?term treatment outcomes of patients with cervical cancer who were treated with californium?252 neutron brachytherapy combined with external?beam radio?therapy plus concurrent chemotherapy.Methods:We retrospectively analyzed the medical records of 150 patients with primary stages IB?IVB cervical cancer who received neutron brachytherapy combined with external?beam radiotherapy concurrently with cisplatin chemo?therapy.All patients were followed up.Using an actuarial analysis,patient outcomes and treatment?related adverse effects were evaluated and compared.Results:The median overall survival(OS)was 33.2 months.The 3?year progression?free survival rates for patients with stages I–II,III,and IV diseases were 81.0%(68/84),65.0%(39/60),and 0%(0/6),respectively;the 3?year OS rates were 90.5%(76/84),85.0%(51/60),and 16.7%(1/6),respectively.Vaginal bleeding was controlled within the median time of4.0 days.One month after treatment,97.3%of patients achieved short?term local control.The local recurrence rates for patients with stages I–II,III,and IV disease were 4.8%(4/84),11.7%(7/60),and 33.3%(2/6),respectively,and the occurrence rates of distant metastasis were 16.7%(14/84),25.0%(15/60),and 100.0%(6/6),respectively.Cancer stage,tumor size,and lymph node metastasis were identified as prognostic risk factors,but only lymph node metastasis was found to be an independent prognostic factor.The most common adverse effects during treatment were grades 1 and 2 irradiation?related proctitis and radiocystitis.Conclusion:For patients with cervical cancer,neutron brachytherapy combined with external?beam radiotherapy plus concurrent chemotherapy produces a rapid response and greatly improves local control and long?term survival rates with tolerable adverse effects. 展开更多

A Comparison of Shale Gas Fracturing Based on Deep and Shallow Shale Reservoirs in the United States and China 被引量:3

China began to build its national shale gas demonstration area in 2012.The central exploration,drilling,and development technologies for medium and shallow marine shale reservoirs with less than 3,500m of buried depth in Changning-Weiyuan,Zhaotong,and other regions had matured.In this study,we macroscopically investigated the development history of shale gas in the United States and China and compared the physical and mechanical conditions of deep and shallow reservoirs.The comparative results revealed that themain reasons for the order-ofmagnitude difference between China’s annual shale gas output and the United States could be attributed to three aspects:reservoir buried depth,reservoir physical and mechanical properties,and engineering technology level.The current engineering technology level of China could not meet the requirements of increasing production and reducing costs for deep shale gas reservoirs;they had reached the beneficial threshold development stage and lacked the capacity for large-scale commercial production.We identified several physical and mechanical reasons for this threshold development stage.Deep shale reservoirs were affected by the bedding fracture,low brittleness index,low clay mineral content,and significant areal differences,as well as by the transformation from elasticity to plasticity,difficulty in sanding,and high mechanical and strength parameters.Simultaneously,they were accompanied by six high values of formation temperature,horizontal principal stress difference,pore pressure,fracture pressure,extension pressure,and closure pressure.The key to deep shale gas horizontal well fracturing was to improve the complexity of the hydraulic fracture network,formadequate proppant support of fracture surface,and increase the practical stimulated reservoir volume(SRV),which accompanied visual hydraulic discrete network monitoring.On this basis,we proposed several ideas to improve China’s deep shale gas development involving advanced technology systems,developing tools,and supporting technologies in shale gas exploration and development in the United States.These ideas primarily involved stimulation technologies,such as vertically integrated dessert identification and optimization,horizontal well multistage/multicluster fracturing,staged tools development for horizontal wells,fractures network morphology monitoring by microseismic and distributed optical fiber,shale hydration expansion,soak well,and fracturing fluid flow back.China initially developed the critical technology of horizontal well large-scale and high-strength volume fracturing with a core of“staged fracturing with dense cutting+shorter cluster spacing+fracture reorientation by pitching+forced-sand addition+increasing diameter perforating+proppant combination by high strength and small particle size particles”.We concluded that China should continue to conduct critical research on theories and technical methods of horizontal well fracturing,suitable for domestic deep and ultra-deep marine and marine-continental sedimentary shale,to support and promote the efficient development of shale gas in China in the future.It is essential to balance the relationship between the overall utilization degree of the gas reservoir and associated economic benefits and to localize some essential tools and supporting technologies.These findings can contribute to the flourishing developments of China’s deep shale gas. 展开更多

Global navigation satellite system could provide accurate positioning results in signal complete condition. However, the performance is severe when signal denied, especially for the single-mode Bei Dou receiver. This paper proposes a dual-satellite positioning algorithm to promote the positioning performance in the satellite signal gap. The new algorithm utilizes the previous positioning data stored in complete condition to simplify the positioning equations. As the clock bias persists for a short period, this proposed method could work out accurate positioning results by only two visible satellites, without the need of computing the clock bias. Also, the Kalman filtering algorithm is used to smooth the trajectories, and improve the positioning results. During the incomplete period, only two satellites for 30 seconds and three satellites for 60 seconds, the preliminary experiment result shows that, the presented method could provide almost the same positioning results as in complete condition. 展开更多

This study investigated whether genetically attenuated Plasmodium sporozoite(GAS) could be used as a novel vector to induce antigen-specific CD8^+ T cell responses against lung cancer.Methods: We constructed GAS/MAGE-A3, a recombinant GAS engineered to express the lung cancer-specific antigen, melanomaassociated antigen 3(MAGE-A3), and assessed its therapeutic effects against lung cancer.Results: Robust parasite-specific CD8αlow CD11ahigh and CD49dhigh CD11ahigh CD4^+ T cell responses as well as a MAGE-A3-specific CD8^+ T cell response were induced in GAS/MAGE-A3-immunized mice. Adoptive transfer of GAS/MAGE-A3-induced CD8^+ T cells from HLA-A2 transgenic mice into lung cancer-bearing nude mice inhibited tumor growth and prolonged survival.Conclusions: These findings demonstrate that GAS/MAGE-A3 induces a strong MAGE-A3-specific CD8^+ T cell response against lung cancer in vivo, and indicate that GAS is a novel and efficacious antigen delivery vector for antitumor immunotherapy. 展开更多

The continental shale reservoirs of Jurassic Lianggaoshan Formation in Sichuan Basin contain thin lamina,which is characterized by strong plasticity and developed longitudinal shell limestone interlayer.To improve the production efficiency of reservoirs by multi-cluster fracturing,it is necessary to consider the unbalanced propagation of hydraulic fractures and the penetration effect of fractures.This paper constructed a numerical model of multi-fracture propagation and penetration based on the finite element coupling cohesive zone method;considering the construction cluster spacing,pump rate,lamina strength and other parameters studied the influencing factors of multi-cluster fracture interaction propagation;combined with AE energy data and fracture mode reconstruction method,quantitatively characterized the comprehensive impact of the strength of thin interlayer rock interfaces on the initiation and propagation of fractures that penetrate layers,and accurately predicted the propagation pattern of hydraulic fractures through laminated shale oil reservoirs.Simulation results revealed that in the process of multi-cluster fracturing,the proportion of shear damage is low,and mainly occurs in bedding fractures activated by outer fractures.Reducing the cluster spacing enhances the fracture system's penetration ability,though it lowers the activation efficiency of lamina.The high plasticity of the limestone interlayer may impact the vertical propagation distance of the main fracture.Improving the interface strength is beneficial to the reconstruction of the fracture height,but the interface communication effect is limited.Reasonable selection of layers with moderate lamina strength for fracturing stimulation,increasing the pump rate during fracturing and setting the cluster spacing reasonably are beneficial to improve the effect of reservoir stimulation. 展开更多

Corneal transplantation presents an urgent demand for artificial cornea stromal substitutes(ACSs)with comprehensive functional design,spanning from material biology to clinical application.Here,we report the use of an engineering integration strategy to develop Janus ACSs with collagen-based multiscale biomimetic skel-etons and tissue-adhesion.Specifically,the electro-assembly of collagen is employed to construct the skeleton of Janus ACS that mimics the microstructure and macroscopic morphology of native corneal stroma,ensuring the desired transparency,refractive power and adaptable shape.The bi-component"bio-cement"coating on the surface of skeleton,composed of 4-arm polyethylene glycol succinyl succinate andε-polylysine,undergoes fast and mild amidation reactions driven by interfacial moisture,curing into a transparent hydrogel coating.The coating establishes a stable covalent connection between the corneal stroma and the skeleton,achieving im-mediate(<10 s)and stable tissue adhesion to adapt to the wet,dynamic mechanical environment of the eye.In vitro and in vivo studies further confirmed that the customized bio-adhesive Janus ACSs allow sutureless im-plantation and facilitate corneal epithelialization,stroma integration and reconstruction.A foraging behavior test highlighted the significant advantages of Janus ACSs in rapid vision recovery.The engineered integrated manufacturing of Janus ACSs potentially maximizes practicality while minimizing costs in applications. 展开更多

Multi-stage evolution of the Ordos Basin:Its coupled basin-mountain systems and energy resources

Continental deformation on the Earth's surface is an extremely complex geological process,in which the formation and evolution of sedimentary basins are closely related to plate motions and mantle activities.Combining sedimentary basins with orogenic belts and sedimentary responses with tectonic activities can comprehensively elucidate the geological processes during the Earth's evolution.This paper focuses on the multi-stage evolution of the Ordos Basin,the coupled basin-mountain systems and energy resources,discusses the evolution of the Ordos Basin and its coupling relationship with the peripheral tectonic belts,and further reveals the intrinsic connections and influencing factors of the energy resources in the basin.The conclusions are as follows:There are three large sedimentary hiatuses(Neoproterozoic-Early Cambrian,Late Ordovician-Early Carboniferous,and Late Cretaceous-Paleogene)and many small minor sedimentary hiatuses in the Ordos Block,which are mainly related to the tectonic activities,but also affected by the changes of the sea level and the climate.The Ordos Basin is a Meso-Cenozoic superposition basin formed by the contraction and reworking of the remnants of the Paleozoic cratonic basin,and its depositional extent and subsidence center have undergone multi-stage evolution,which was mainly influenced by the subduction of the Paleo-Pacific Plate.Influenced by the multi-directional convergence of peripheral plates in the North China Craton and the transformation of its own deep tectono-thermal regime,many coupled basin-mountain systems were formed with the Ordos Basin and the Yinshan orogenic belt,the Qinling orogenic belt,the Lvliangshan tectonic belt,the Helanshan tectonic belt or the Liupanshan tectonic belt as the core.The formation and enrichment of energy resources in the Ordos Basin are controlled by the tectono-sedimentary response,basin-mountain coupling evolution,and Early Cretaceous tectono-thermal events.All of them were gradually enriched into deposits during the formation,evolution,and reworking of the basin,and have a certain relationship of generation and coexistence,so they should belong to the same reservoir-forming(ore-forming)system.This study not only is helpful for revealing the coupling relationship between peripheral plate motions and internal mantle activities of the North China Craton,but also is of great significance for establishing the Earth's multi-layer coupling model and super energy system. 展开更多

To the editor,There remains a huge unmet need for treatment of cirrhotic ascites.In this letter,we propose that the sodiumglucose cotransporter-2(SGLT2)inhibitor may be a promising complement for current therapy.Ascites is the commonest complication of decompensated liver cirrhosis,and it significantly deteriorates quality of life and shortens survival.Loop diuretics and mineralocorticoid receptor antagonists are the mainstay of pharmacological treatments,1 but decades of use have brought little survival benefit.Moreover,recurrent or refractory ascites often leads to unplanned re-hospitalization for patients with decompensated cirrhosis and consequently causes a substantial economic burden. 展开更多

The serotonin-transporter-linked polymorphic region(5-HTTLPR)is associated with mood disorders.This association is thought to be due to amygdala hyperresponsiveness to negative emotional stimuli as a result of reduced frontal cortical control.In Caucasians,the short form is associated with this effect,but in Han Chinese we recently found that the long form is involved.Serotonin receptors have rich expression in default mode network(DMN)regions and the recent studies have found an association between the short form of the 5-HTTLPR and DMN functional connectivity(FC)in Caucasians.The present study has investigated whether there may also be anethnic difference in this influence of 5-HTTLPR on the DMN.We recruited 233 young Han Chinese subjects and calculated the resting-state default-network FC.Our study found that the L carriers had decreased FC in the bilateral medial prefrontal cortex,right parahippocampal gyrus,left middle temporal gyrus,and increased FC in left precuneus(Pcu)compared to SS.The PCC-Pcu FC in L carriers was significantly negatively correlated with the depression scores.Our findings,therefore,suggest that there is also a difference between Caucasian and Han Chinese subjects in the association between the different forms of the5-HTTLPR and DMN functional connectivity. 展开更多
