Robotic-assisted radical prostatectomy(RARP)is the current standard of care with long term cure in organ-confined disease. The introduction of nerve-sparing(NS)to standard RARP has shown positive results in terms of functional outcomes in addition to the oncological outcomes. This article reviews the current perspectives of NS-RARP in terms of applied anatomy of the prostatic fascial planes, the neurovascular bundle(NVB),various NS techniques and postoperative functional outcomes.A non-systematic review was done using PubMed,Embase and Medline databases to retrieve and analyse articles in English, with following keywords“prostate cancer”,“robotic radical prostatectomy”,“nerve-sparing”.The Delphi method was used with an expert panel of robotic surgeons in urology to analyse the potency outcomes of various published comparative and non-comparative studies. The literature has shown that NS-RARP involves various techniques and approaches while there is a lack of randomized studies to suggest the superiority of one over the other.Variables such as preoperative risk assessments, baseline potency, surgical anatomy of individual patients and surgeons’expertise play a major role in the outcomes.A tailored approach for each patient is required for applying the NS approach during RARP. 展开更多

The total number of infections(epidemic size),and the time needed for the infection to die out(epidemic duration),represent two of the main indicators for the measuring gravity of infectious disease epidemics in humans.A few attempts have been made to address the problem of controlling both the epidemic size and duration simultaneously from a theoretical point of view,by primarily using the Optimal control theory. In this study,a multi-objective optimal control problem has been simulated to gauge the success of the lockdowns in India. To accomplish this objective,a system dynamics modeling was used to simulate the Susceptible–Infected–Quarantined–Removed epidemic model.A set of sensitivity experiments for different scenarios allows illustrating the model’s behavior and its value for decision-makers regarding the lockdown intensity. The simulation of the model presents various scenarios, wherein the cost–benefit analysis of lockdown was done.Notably, the lockdown success intensity was defined, post which, the findings indicate that the states of Uttar Pradesh,Kerala,Panjab,Jammu,Kashmir,Haryana, and Bihar have achieved more than 90%lockdown success intensity.Further,it was observed that these states could effectively implement lockdowns by strictly enforcing social distancing measures during the early stages of the virus spread, which in turn resulted in the high success rate of lockdowns. 展开更多

Dengue fever is a flu-like ailment propagated by female mosquitos of the Aedes aegypti species. It is also known as dandaka jwara in Ayurveda. It is most common in the world’s subtropical and tropical climate zones.Vomiting, severe headache, nausea, rashes, joint pain, pain behind the eyes, muscle pain, and swollen glands are all common dengue symptoms. If not handled promptly, these symptoms can lead to more severe issues such as exhaustion, blood in the vomit, continuous vomiting, bleeding gums, restlessness, severe abdominal pain, and rapid bleeding.Because there is no specific medication for dengue fever, the disease is treated by eliminating and managing the symptoms.Fortunately, there are a variety of ayurvedic remedies(like Carica papaya L.,Cissampelos pareira L.,etc.)that can help to tackle the same by strengthening the immune system and controlling hyperthermia. This review article provides a comprehensive overview of dengue virus infections, clinical symptoms, diagnosis, mitigation, and treatments, focusing on ayurvedic and herbal remedies. 展开更多
