摘要 Edible bird’s nest is rich in protein and have been treasured for centuries for its health benefits such as antioxidant, immunomodulation, and skin-beneficial.The research aimed to validate the in vivo wound healing bioactivity of edible bird’s nest derived peptides(EBNP)as a nutritional supplementation.Structural characterization showed that EBNP had high homogeneity, average amino acid profile, low molecular weight, and compacted three-dimensional conformation of over 80%α-helical structure. Moreover, hydrophobic peptides and single amino acid repeats were found abundantly in EBNP complex, which could be an indication of the skin repairing peptides. As a result of the in vivo validation,EBNP showed higher skin-repairing activity than sialic acid and glutathione, improved the wound healing rate to 86.77%after 8 days of recovery, and resulted in a greater dermis collagen ratio of 30.33%.The research investigated the structural basis, and found dietary peptides as the primary skin-repairing bioactive compounds in EBNP,which enabled EBNP a potential nutritional supplementation for wound-healing.
