The year 2025 marks the 110th anniversary of the establishment of the Chinese Medical Association(CMA).As one of its young and distinguished member organizations,the Chinese Society of Critical Care Medicine(CSCCM)has experienced 20 years of remarkable growth and development.The founding of the CSCCM in 2005 represents a landmark event in the history of critical care medicine in China,marking the formal recognition and establishment of the discipline as an independent specialty in China.On July 4,2008,critical care medicine was officially recognized as a primary specialty under the discipline code 320.58.This formal recognition laid a broader and more solid foundation for the future advancement of critical care medicine in China.Seizing this opportunity,the CSCCM has actively undertaken a range of initiatives to further promote the development of critical care.
