摘要
建议是日常会话中常见的言语交际现象,作为其语言实现方式之一的“why not VP”结构也受到学界一定的关注。但现有研究大多停留在对此结构建议功能的讨论上,未对它的衍生功能进行探讨,也未将此结构与其他语言中的相似结构进行对比分析。基于此,本文对表示建议义的结构“why not VP”的语用功能进行梳理,认为它已经从表示建议义的功能逐渐扩展到表达劝说、责问等话语功能,且这些功能均具有主观性或交互主观性。同时,还讨论了该结构交互主观性形成的原因,分析了其与汉语对应结构“何不VP”的异同之处。研究发现,两者在主语显现、标点符号使用及同义句式的种类上均存在差异。
Suggestions are a common phenomenon in everyday communication.The“why not VP”construction,as a linguistic form for expressing suggestions,has attracted some academic attention.However,most existing research focuses solely on its suggestion function,without examining its extended functions or comparing it to similar constructions in other languages.This article investigates the pragmatic functions of the“why not VP”construction,showing that its usage has expanded beyond suggesting to include functions such as persuasion and interrogation,which are characterized by subjectivity and intersubjectivity.The study also examines the origins of this intersubjectivity and compares the“why not VP”construction with its Chinese counterpart,“hebu VP.”The findings reveal differences between the two constructions in terms of subject expression,punctuation usage,and the variety of synonymous sentence structures.
