When Chinese reveled in the festive atmosphere of the 70 th anniversary of the PRC, a display on the National Cultural Palace square on Chang'an Street, Beijing, was eye-catching. It represented national unity. Blooming flowers and fruit signified harvest, and pomegranates glowed symbolizing the 56 ethnic groups.
