Over the next 10 years,the achievements of architects,engineers,town planners and infrastructure planners will determine not only the future viability of our built-up environments,but also the sustainability of our society in no uncertain terms.If they should fail,today's challenges such as climate change and demographic change are set to evolve into incalculable risks.The solutions needed are complex.Individual measures alone will not deliver the results we need.
