This paper introduces in detail the possibility for replacing the conventional “Three Acid Picklings”& high chrome passivation with fogless brigtening acid pickling & ultra-low chrome passivation in the process of surface treatment of brass workpieces. In addition, it introduces the mechanisms of the chemical finish and ultra-low chrome passivation, the technological specifications, the main performance of passivated film and the quality index reached, as well as the social benefit and economic benefit.
