摘要
本文从 Webster 字典对 meta 一词的释义出发,列举若干实例,总结metadata 一词的涵义;同时就 metadata 一词的引伸意义作了阐释,并对"元搜索引擎"这种译法提出了不同观点。
The paper concludes the meaning of metadata with many examples and elucidates the external meaning of metadata,and puts forward the opposite opinion about the translation of metasearcher.
