摘要
晚清翻译小说提高了小说的地位 ,促进了小说的发展 ;在冲击中国传统观念习俗的同时 ,也使小说家的审美趣味与文学观念开始变化 ;它本身还丰富了传统小说的式样 ,扩大了小说的表现领域。它的消极影响是过分强调政治功能 ,误解和改译也影响到原作风格的保留。
During the late Qing dynasty, translation of novels raised the status of novel, promoted its development and struck the Chinese conventions. In the meantime, the aesthetic interest and the literary view of novelists began to change. Translation of novels enriched the pattern of the conventional novel and broadened the expression field of the novel as well. Its passive effect is overemphasized on the political function, and the misunderstanding and improper interpretation affect the style of the original.
