摘要
过去的应用层组播方法主要有两种:网优先、树优先。旧有的方法限制了系统的可扩展性和规模,也限制了业务模式。本文提出了一种灵活的可扩展的应用层组播方案,它允许大规模的组用户,同时对业务模式不作限制。本文的方案基于CAN(content-addressable networks)网络,扩展了CAN的基础架构以支持组播,而只增加了很小的开销。这种基于完全分布式CAN网络的组播部署方案在简单性以及灵活性上都有明显的优势。
Traditional application-layer multicast consists of two categories, i. e. , the network-first multicast and the tree-first multicast. Previous solutions constrain the scalability as well as the operation mode of the system. To address this, this paper proposes a flexible and scalable multicast strategy for application layer, which allows for large scale group-users and does not impose any restriction on the operation mode. Based on the content-addressable (CAN) network, the proposed strategy expands the underlying infrastructure of CAN to support multicast at the expense of a minor increase in overhead. In particular, this CAN-based multicast strategy can be implemented in a perfect distributed manner and has considerable advantages of simplicity and flexibility over existing ones.
