摘要
自由贸易区是世界经济多元化发展的产物。作为全球区域面积最大的北美自由贸易区 ,它的出现以及它对本地区经济以及对世界经济的影响就倍受人们关注。本文从北美自由贸易区构建时所预定的目标出发 ,探索其第一阶段进展的情况。文章前半部分归纳了自由贸易协议实施以来为美加墨三国带来的效益 。
Free trade areas are products of the pluralistic world economy. The North American Free Trade Area (NAFTA), being the largest one of its kind, has been attracting more and more attention since its appearance and because of its effect on the global economy. Based on the preliminary schedule set down by NAFTA, this paper evaluates the result of the initial stage of its development. The first half of the paper summarizes the benefits NAFTA has brought to the three member countries since it went into operation; the second half analizes the various possible obstacles underlying on the way of its growth and the necessary compromise and cooperation to be taken by NAFTA partners to surmount the foreseen hinders.
