摘要
桌面视频会议系统是将来多媒体应用的一个主流方向，也是用户所迫切需要的一种多媒体通信服务。本文介绍了一种基于ＰＳＴＮ的低速视频会议系统的关键模块——多点控制单元（ＭＣＵ）的设计思路与实现方案，并就其应用前景作了初步的探讨。
PSTN based desktop multimedia meeting system is promised to be a trend of future multimedia applications. It is also a kind of multimedia service greatly wanted by customers. In this paper, we introduce the design and implementation of a key model— multipoint control unit(MCU)—in such systems.
