从广州郊区黄毛鼠与黄胸鼠检获的一种恙螨经过实验室培育获得生活史各期。经比较观察两代幼虫的形态,认为是一种未曾描述的种类,定名为龙洞东洋恙螨新种(Dongyangsha longdongensis sp.nov.)
A species of trombiculid mite collected from Rattus rattoides and R. flavipectus from Guangzhou is believed to be new to science. For the present new species the name Dongyangsha longdongensis is proposed.Specific diagnosis: Body white in color when alive. Unfed specimens measure 346 - 416×198 - 214um. Palpotibial claw 3-furcate. Galeal setae nude. Palpal setae formula B(b)-N-NNB. Scutum pentagonal. PL > AM > AL. Seasillae club-shaped, with small spines. Eyes 2/2. Standard measurements (μm): AW 59, PW 80, SB 27, ASB 41, PSB 31, AP 46, AM 50, AL 53, PL 59, Sens 39×6, DS 50, VS 32. fDS: 2.8(9 -10).2(3.5.6.). 8(9-10).2(4). 8(9.2.3.6) 8(4.6. 9)...= 54 - 64. Ster nal formula 2.2. VS50-62. Leg I 338.82, Ⅱ 293.12, Ⅲ 347.71. fex = 1 - 1 - 1. IP = 979.65. SIF = 7BS-N-3-3111.0000.Type and paratype specimens: In the Department of Parasitology, Sun Yat-sen University of Medical Sciences.Data of development in laboratory: Engorged larvae to nymphs 26-56 days (25°±1℃) (developmental rate 35.38%); engorged larvae to adults 87-126 days (25°±1℃) (developmental rate 12.31%); Life span of adults 58-480 days.
