Studies on the Synthesis and Properties of Ester Liquid Crystals of Hydroquinone Ⅲ. Liquid Crystals of trans-4-Alkylcyclohexanecarboxylic Acid-4'-Alkoxyphenol Ester and trans-4-Alkylcyclohexanecarboxylic Acid-2',3'-Dicyano-4'-Alkoxyphenol Ester

摘要 本文以苯、苯二酚和对苯■为原料合成文题化合物,在中间体4-烷氧基苯酚的合成中采用了相转移催化剂,产率由文献值30%提高到60%左右;对文题化合物进行了元素分析、红外光谱和液晶性能的测定;并利用产物配制出可供正性宾主效应彩色显示的混合液晶。 A series of liquid crystal products of the following general formuhs are well synthesized withbenzene, hydroquinone and benzoquinone as materials ■ (where R=n-pentyl, n-heptyl. R′=n-butyl, n-pentyl, n-heptyl and n-octyl and ■ (where R=n-hexyl, R′=n-propyl; R=n-heptyl, R′=n-propyl).Owing to the use of phase transfer catalyst in the synthesis of 4-alkoxyphenol, the yields of the products are higher than those reported in the literature from 20% to 30%. For the above compounds, element analysis, infra-red spectrum and the behavior of the liquid crystals are separately determined. Furthermore, the mixed liquid crystals for color exhibition of positive viphost effect are well formulated with the synthesized products.
