Abstract Lattice method is a new method of numerical simulation for fluid dynamics which has been developed recently. Its essential idea is the model-rebuilding, that is, a problem of fluid dynamics is directly simulated by a model which is built based on the microscopic description of fluid rather than the partial differential equations from continuum fluid dynamics. In this paper, the lattice method is extended to solving general mathematical physics equations. As examples,two models for first order linear and quasi-linear hyperbolic equations are built. Then several typical numerical examples are investigated using the models and satisfactory results are achieved.
