摘要
本文考察了牛顿制定微积分的三个基本事实,指出其对于重构牛顿微积分思想发展过程的重要意义。作者认为牛顿微积分思想的发展至少应分为四个阶段,即1.流数论的初建;2.向几何不可分量观点的摇摆;3.成熟的流数法;4.首末比法的提出与改进。并指出以往将这一过程分为三个阶段,以《分析学》作为第一阶段的标志的传统看法,是由于忽略了《1666年10月流数简论》而造成的误解。
This paper observes three important facts concerning the creation of Newton's calculus, and points their significance for reconstructing the process of the evolvement of Newton's concepts of the calculus. The author considers that the process of the development of Newton's calculus should be divided into at least four stages:(1) The initial founding of the theory of fluxion;(2) Vacillating to the view of the geometrical indivisible;(3) Refining of the method of fluxion;(4) The establishment and improvement of the method of prime and ultimate ratio, and that it is a misunderstanding to divide this process traditionally into three stages with taking De analyst for a mark of the first stage due to ignoring The October 1666 Tract on Fluxions.
