Sensitive Measurement of Nonlinear Refraction Using Z-Scan Method

摘要 介绍了一种简单而灵敏的单光束测量非线性折射率n2大小和符号的实验方法(Z—Scan)。样品在聚焦的高斯光束z方向上移动,得到远场通过小孔后的透射率曲线,由该曲线很容易计算出n2。使用CWCO2激光器对InSb样品进行测量,得到该样品相对10.6μm波长的非线性折射率为1.80×10-4esu。 A simple yet highly' sensitive single beam experimental technique for the determination of both the sign and magnitude of nonlinear refraction n2 is presented. The sample is moved along the Z direction of a focused Gaussian beam. The resultant plot of transmittance through an aperture in the far field yields a dispersion-shaped curve from which n2 is casily calculated.The InSb sample is measured by using a CWCO2 laser, and its n2 is 1.88 x 10-4 esu at the wavelength of 10.6μm.
