The large amplitude rolling motion of ship under the action of wind and wave exciting forceand moment is discussed. The concept and method of the mathematical stability tyeory have beenintreduced and are applied to an alternative stability assessment of rolling motion. The example ofcomputation and the analysis of the selected ship show that this methed is efficient.
