摘要
推动美国现代城市郊区化的原因是多方面的 ,除了技术进步、经济结构的演变、联邦政府政策和民族矛盾以外 ,还有广泛而深刻的社会原因和心理原因 :2 0世纪美国白领阶层的扩大及其对中产阶级地位的追求、家庭主义和儿童中心主义的价值取向、“花园城市”理想向“花园郊区”理想的嬗变等 。
There are various causes for the modern American suburbanization. Apart from the technological and economical development, the change of federal policies, the conflicts of city blacks and whites, many other social and psychological phenomena have also contributed to the process, such as the enlargement of white-collar class and their pursuit of middle class status, the social emphasis on family and children, the transformation of social ideal from 'garden city' to 'garden suburb', etc.
